I knew I’d be a genius at something one day.

£20 car insurance. £230 then £50 cash back
£8 aldi

SummerDaize · 13/10/2018 13:33

Jam what are PA comments? It sounds as though it's important to know about so as not to put my foot in it, but I'm not sure what it means.

northender · 13/10/2018 13:34

Ds is okay thanks Jam. The antibiotics are definitely making a difference & they'll continue for at least 3-4 months. He's managing college & he's played 5-a-side football a couple of times this week. I'm encouraging him to carry on as normally as he can and just deal with the "fatigue" days as and when they happen. He recovers quickly and hopefully they'll just happen less frequently.
I think I'm quite practical about it all where as dh gets really worried whenever ds says he's having a bad day which I can understand, but it doesn't help. Hey ho.

SummerDaize · 13/10/2018 13:43

We had a fantastic morning out this morning and a long walk in the countryside and met a friendly horse. £10 for cakes and a cuppa. No piano lesson this morning as it was cancelled.

northender · 13/10/2018 13:47

Can't compete with the chicken story jam Grin. Was it still warm?!!
Em we were in a similar situation to you when we moved in here, but dparents house was too small for us all so we moved in on day one even though we didn't need to.
Curvy that's great news about your qualification, well done.

Cagliostro · 13/10/2018 13:50

Not caught up yet but squeeee looks like I have someone to do next year’s workshop

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/10/2018 14:41

Em Can you charge them storage 😹. Does the loft have 270mm insulation? You can go higher for increased efficiency.

The last rental house we had was filthy, grease soaked into a wooden kitchen like she hadn’t cleaned ever. They run a pub in Cornwall that serves food. If of any of you visit Cornwall pm me and I’ll tell you which one to avoid.

CurlsandCurves · 13/10/2018 14:52

Hello, new thread!

Lazyish day here. DS2 is at scout camp, dropped him off last night. They were kayaking this morning, one of the leaders posted a pic on the Facebook page.

I’m in a weekend Fitbit challenge so I’ve been for a long walk this morning. Then DS1 is off to the in-laws for a sleepover and DH and I are going out! Just to our local town for an Italian and a few drinks. this is the last Saturday night that DH isn’t working before Christmas ( he djs as a sideline) so we are making the most of it.

QuiteFabULousDahling · 13/10/2018 14:58

Vom Envy at the chicken story Jam

We found a load of old radio transmitter stuff in our loft. Its still there.
Glad to hear your DS is doing well north

Lonely I love hearing about your knitting as I have no RL knitting friends or if people are interested its "Can you knit this -Ill pay you ?"
Nope Grin

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 13/10/2018 15:00

Hello all, I'm on the train back from Bath, had a lovely time ystd at the Bath Spa and has been great to spend some quality time with my two best buddies.

Dread to think what I've spent probably around £150 which includes 3 hours at the spa, dinner, gift, x 2 lunches and shopping this morning (got a few tops in h&m)

Am tired now and looking forward to seeing my girl when I get home.

I like this thread and hope we can all jolly along 😊

ememem84 · 13/10/2018 15:01

New house argument already.

Fil has ripped off the board boarding up the fire place. Which I asked him not to. But he did anyway.

He’s suggested to dh that he widens the fire hole. I’ve told dh under no circumstances is he or anyone to do that without my say so. And have screwed the board back on defiently. And have taken the screw drivers (the drill one and the Phillips one) back with me.

Dh has also taken the lock off the front door. Ffs. He was meant to call a locksmith. But he figured it was easier (🙄) to take the lock off take it to b&q and buy a new one.

He’s also shouted at me baceuse I was unwilling to help him (ds was in need of a nap so we’re at dparents. And dh has gone off to b&q and is buying a new lock. He’s also meant to be getting a wheeley bin. But apparently can’t fit it in the car.

Oh em happy days !
Will you have an Ikea argument ?(Do you have an Ikea)
Those are the best 😂

WreckTangled · 13/10/2018 15:12

Em maybe you should change the lock and not give dh a key Grin

The dc knocked my clothes horse over which was outside with a load of white washing on 😭😡😭😡😭😡

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/10/2018 15:25

Easier to replace the lock barrel, cheap job. How very efficient to get the row over on the first day.

ememem84 · 13/10/2018 15:27

Alas quite an Ikea argument would be vair expensive and not at all frugal. Our nearest Ikea is in Rennes. So an hour by ferry then a drive of around an hour.

Dh isn’t a fan of Ikea (loser). We have arguments when I bring Ikea stuff in though and proceed to assemble myself. He doesn’t understand the methodical putting it together and likes to rip every bag open and start guessing where things go. That is not how Ikea works.

I’ve cleaned up my rhino picture. Isn’t it gloriously hideously ugly but perfect for a new hallway?!

Dh let me keep it because I promised I’d forget about the beautiful black ink one line drawing of a galloping horse I saw the other day I haven’t and may sneak that in at some point

Efficiency is my middle name fluffy.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 13/10/2018 15:31

Thanks north, glad to hear ds is feeling better too.

Ohh cag exciting.

Em, deep breathes, moving house is so stressful Flowers

QuiteFabULousDahling · 13/10/2018 15:33

But meatballs em think of the meatballs .

Ive got down to about 5 left which Ive hidden in the ice maker section of the freezer so DH cant find them.

ememem84 · 13/10/2018 15:37

But about £300 for the three of us and the car on the ferry and then a hotel in Rennes then about a zillion pounds in Ikea.....

I’m sure we’ll have a furniture store argument. They usually involve me saying “do whatever you want” and wondering off. Then we never buy anything.

Things are easier when I do them myself.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 13/10/2018 15:37

Oh wreck thats rubbish, can you save any of it?

Waiting to get my haircut, but I'm a bit nervous because the person who use to cut my hair doesn't work here anymore, so I'm going to show a few pictures of what I want and keep my fingers crossed.

QuiteFabULousDahling · 13/10/2018 15:44

Ah yeah thats a bit more than I would be willing to pay.
Ours is usually me stomping off as DH is sooooo slow .
FFS sake put the Flumhilda* down !
We have come to buy candles and paper napkins Grin

  • I made that up
Fluffycloudland77 · 13/10/2018 15:44

Men can never find anything if you put something in front of it. I've always said to dh if the americans want to hide area 51 all they had to do was put a tub of cooking salt and some brown sauce in front of it. Job done.

Cagliostro · 13/10/2018 15:56

Did someone say meatballs?!

I need to go to ikea again, just want a few more drona basket type things that we can lug back on the tram/tube.

Clothes shopping is making me lose the will to live. It is soooo busy in town!

Cagliostro · 13/10/2018 15:57

There probably is a flümhilda. I bet it’s a lampshade.

SummerDaize · 13/10/2018 16:03

I'm fooling around with music on the computer while ds is on a playdate. £0 (Woohoo! Low cost hobby finally.)

I have figured out how to transpose music for B flat clarinet to A clarinet and then to F horn, which is pretty exciting if you're me.

I've also been virtuous and listed two musical instruments on ebay. Neither has any bids yet.

I did sell two lamps yesterday though, so that was good.
