eBay cheques are annoying.

We've just had a Costa. I'm so exhausted after being awake all night.

SummerDaize · 13/10/2018 09:50

Thanks Quite. Glad that's all okay then.

Off we go for Saturday then. Smile

Wolfcub · 13/10/2018 10:02

Yikes £120 in Sainsbury’s (was only going for bits) but two new pairs of pjs and a pair of jeans for me and a birthday present for ds in there. The rest is food for ds to take with him tomorrow and booze and treats to take to a party this afternoon- we always get fed beautifully and due to the size of our house can’t eexupri so I never go empty handed more like abundantly laden

lifelongfrugaleer · 13/10/2018 10:10

Istd is the other exam board cag. G1 is Lilac for rad so sounds like no. Happy to send old leotards on of you want. Think we have starlight size 3

Cagliostro · 13/10/2018 11:01

Aah no worries then it is a different uniform for DD. Thank you so much for the offer though 💐

WreckTangled · 13/10/2018 11:04

£11 costa
£5.60 birthday present for the party dd is going to later.

Have got one load of washing on the line. Perfect drying weather

northender · 13/10/2018 11:11

Cag the brownies were so good. The recipe we use is from an American childrens baking book. It's straightforward and so good. Last night I bought a tin of carnation caramel, put half the brownie batter in the tin, then "stripes" of caramel, then the other half of the batter on top and baked as usual. The caramel stayed distinct from the brownie so oozed a bit, delish! Study is going okay, I'm managing the level of work, but the volume is quite overwhelming and relentless, so alongside my job, it's tricky & tiring, but will be worth it when it's done.

Cagliostro · 13/10/2018 11:36

I have huge admiration for anyone who studies on top of working! But yes will be worth it.
I bloody love carnation caramel. With digestive biscuit, banana slices and whipped cream. Yum :o

Feeling a bit better than the last few days, knackered as not sleeping well but I have the house to myself for a bit so have been pottering around, put a wash on and prepped some home ed stuff etc. Now off shopping.

Wolfcub · 13/10/2018 11:41

Mmm banoffee pie Cag and North you are making me hungry, I’m not even a pudding person really but mmmm

Wreck I wish I could get washing out here. The weather is being very odd it’s absolutely hot sweaty boiling outside but it’s also rainy and blowing a hoolie.

Justanothermile · 13/10/2018 11:46

The dog looks like ddog1 wolf! Spaniel love right back at yaGrin

Gosh you've achieved so much curves, in tricky circumstances. Gaining qualifications with dc is bloody hard work I imagine. Agree, apprenticeship monies are grim, DH won't actually pay that little. Least it's been a means to an end and you've loads of options now.

That workshop would be amazing cag.

That millionaire shortbread sounds bloody amazing north, how's your DS?

It's good to have the space to make decisions and move when you choose em.

Spends
£20 on energy gels. Bad planning my part, didn't realise I was low and I need them next week. I usually wait for a deal.

I've switched energy suppliers though, for the first time in years I'm going with a big supplier and fixing until June 2020. Not saving masses, few quid a month but some certainty at least. £25 cash back too.

I was second female at Parkrun today, go me! Ran round chatting with one of my best running buddies, must have taken my mind off the painGrin

Justanothermile · 13/10/2018 11:54

Agree with your sentiments too wolf, and hope we can continue to give and receive advice. I hate PA comments though on any thread, and hope to never see them on this thread, that's genuinely unkind.

I've some more paperwork to do today, and to visit my DM. Been working up to this visit, regulars will know why. But I'm feeling like I can take it today.Grin

ememem84 · 13/10/2018 11:56

Been in the loft in the new house. 7 bags of crap. Carpets blankets clothes a lampshade 4 Christmas trees and a wicked cool pic of a rhino.

All now in garage.

Have emailed estate agent and have asked him whether we just dump (as technically ours now) or whether we see if it’s the vendors. I suspect not as it’s very old looking stuff and I know hey bought from a probate sale.

Wolf it's possible we will get a shower but it's meant to brighten up layer so I thought I would put it out anyway!

Justanothermile · 13/10/2018 12:02

Was it clean em? I'm always curious to know how folk leave their homes? I'm obsessed with leaving a house spotless, but have been left with some shockers in the past.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 13/10/2018 12:18

Yes exactly jam, a means to an end. And thank you, it was an opportunity and I grabbed it and held on for the ride!
Thats great your DH offers more, I wish more employers would, we need more like him.
Good work on the parkrun, I need to find a local one to me.

Cag, if you google: Famly-Guide-EYFS-Activity-Library-50-EYFS-Activities
It should come up, you may need to sign up to their email list. Sorry I couldn't send you a direct link.
Also there is a facebook group I follow called the empowered educator, which has lots of lovely ideas, they are based in Australia, and you do need to sign up to their emails, but there is no hard sell.

WreckTangled · 13/10/2018 12:22

There were false teeth in the cupboard when we moved in here

Justanothermile · 13/10/2018 12:25

There was a roast chicken in the oven at our last house, true fact I absolutely promiseSmile

ememem84 · 13/10/2018 12:26

just spotless. Bar a weeks worth of settled dust. The old owners had a cleaner and she was there until midnight the day they moved out.

OP posts:
CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 13/10/2018 12:28

Eww to false teeth and was it a mouldy chicken?

WreckTangled · 13/10/2018 12:29

I've got £50 confirmed in tcb 🙌🏼 thinking of getting it on amazon vouchers to go towards Christmas. If it's confirmed it'll be payable in about a month won't it? That'll be handy.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 13/10/2018 12:31

Great news wreck, you deserve a win Smile

Wolfcub · 13/10/2018 12:31

Jam was it a fresh cooked as a welcome chicken or an oops forgot to dish up dinner chicken?

Em that’s great, what a fab cleaner - I’d absolutely hire someone that committed

Ours was vacant possession and had been decorated and refitted by prior owner but needed a damn good clean and, it turns out, lots of diy. Amongst the things left behind was a bag of cat litter. They didn’t have a cat

Justanothermile · 13/10/2018 12:36

I think it was their last dinner before emigrating, like they'd had the meal, left the chicken in the oven then just left Grin

Wolfcub · 13/10/2018 12:41

Whoever said being a lone adult was affecting the gas and electric is a genius. I hadn’t even thought about it but the washing machine is on less, it’s one less (stupidly long) shower a day and using the dishwasher slightly less. I’ve been back and rechecked the bill and for the six months we’ve been separated the electric usage is 400kwh less than the same time last year and the gas 500kwh less. Reading the bill more closely the direct debit for the next billing period has also been adjusted to take account of last winters unseasonable weather I.e they don’t expect it to be as bad this year and therefore expect you will spend less. I think what I will do is bank the difference over the next six months and then use that money for any over usage.

LonelyOversharer · 13/10/2018 13:28

That sounds very sensible wolf, and it does make sense that your usage is lower.

The roads round us are starting to get floody, still torrentially raining, going on 24hrs now.

em woodburners rock. Multi fuel is more useful though, but if your central heating is good, a wood burner is a cute extra, we use ours on the coldest evenings to just be cosy rather than a heating system. We had to put a stainless steel flue down...dp did this. Advice: pay someone to do this!!

Dd3 and I went shopping, it breaks down to about £100 food (split over 3 supermarkets) a onsie and wellies for her, residential trip next week. And 2 lots of snake substrate.

This thread ebbs and flows. It helps me enormously. Those of us who have been on it long enough know why it goes sour every so often. But as I have no rl friends (where is my tiny violin), to be able to chat on here keeps me right.

I'm off into the conservatory to sort out the junk. If I don't return the junk has simply swallowed me (like on the Flying Dutchman).
