No need to apologise, we knew you wouldn't just stop posting on purpose Thanks

Just glad you're back. Now, do we call you just or mile? :o

WreckTangled · 09/08/2018 18:49

Let's call her jam Grin

Cagliostro · 09/08/2018 18:52

:o

Fluffy's just playing it cool btw

Justanothermile · 09/08/2018 18:55

I’m liking jam, never considered it could be shortened in that way!!

We are on holiday, but home tomorrow. Uk based. We’ve eaten out once. We’ve basically walked the dogs, recharged and readjusted. It’s been wonderful.

Cheap holiday. I took a weeks worth of food with us and lots of pasta and rice, so we’ve bought a few bits of bread and milk this week, DH and DS are having steak tonight as their holiday treat.

I’ve got quite a large shop being delivered for when we get home, but menu planned, which I’ll post later.

BreatheSlower · 09/08/2018 18:56

Welcome back Jam. Smile I've namechanged too, just for extra confusion. I'm sorry to hear you've been in the wars, but glad that you're digging out again.

Loveabaconsandwich · 09/08/2018 18:58

Welcome back jam

LSD
£2.10 parking for our trip to a country park for the morning.

I wore a hoody this afternoon as I was cold. It was 21 degrees Grin

WreckTangled · 09/08/2018 19:00

I was cold at work today too. I'm going to wear a jumper tomorrow (just had a shirt over a vest today).

£2.20 parking so lsd

BreatheSlower · 09/08/2018 19:02

I have not knowingly spent any money today. Yay!

I have changed energy supplier too, because my loop monitor told me to.

Cagliostro · 09/08/2018 19:10

Jam it is then :o holiday sounds good and much needed. How are the kids doing? Must be results time soon from exams?

Aaaah I'm so hungry, bolognese smells goooood

Anyone know how easy it is to fit those ceiling fan things over light fittings? Does it require rewiring etc?

Wolfcub · 09/08/2018 19:15

Just welcome back I don’t think a single thread has gone by without you being mentioned and missed. So pleased to see you.
No sleep as ds had a rough night. I am on my knees today. Bought dm and df some treats as they have been so helpful - £20. Have hopefully sold some of ds’s shoes so will make £5. Owe friend £25 for concert tickets and will need money for day out on Saturday but other than that not doing horrendously on the money front this month although I do keep having to remind myself it’s only the 9th

Justanothermile · 09/08/2018 19:19

Thank you. I shall bore you with many posts then. And understand name changes in time.

Did you move cag? I’m sure everything will be clear with everyones news in time.

I’ve relished cooler weather, running in the heat has been hell, but also my salvation.

Results next week for DS, who has decided he may wish to change Uni course at this late stage.....aargh. A myriad of open days for DD, from Exeter to Oop North. It’s been me doing this, so been interesting but time consuming.

I’d rather not go through A level exams again, GCSE’s were a breeze, these have not been the case.

Justanothermile · 09/08/2018 19:25

Thank you wolf for that, sleep deprivation is truly the pits. Take the help on offer.

I’ve sold a few dresses etc on FB, you get pitifully little at present. Otherwise they don’t sell. I’m a bit in the camp of sell cheaper as it’s making nothing in the wardrobe but still...

Oh - the pony has been sold. That’s been another Big Event here. That was tough...

Fluffycloudland77 · 09/08/2018 19:27

I need to change energy supplier too.

LonelyOversharer · 09/08/2018 19:27

SO so So good to see you FlowersFlowers
You have been so missed!

We are all bobbing along here as usual Grin

Popped to Tesco after work...£30 and just soup and bacon rolls for tea. I have my little car back, new shiny clutch, it drives so very well. Paid another £150 off my tab, but it will be a few more weeks before it's cleared now.

Fluffycloudland77 · 09/08/2018 19:34

I'm sure you wouldn't have sold pony to a bad home. It's a bad time to sell things while the sales are on.

Cag We've got a 4ft fan over our bed, it's brilliant and not that difficult to fit. No more difficult than a light fitting. They turn one way to blow cool air, then the other way to throw warm air down in winter but I've never bothered with that.

Taytocrisps · 09/08/2018 19:48

Just welcome back. You've been missed! I don't want to pry but I hope you're ok.

Justanothermile · 09/08/2018 19:56

No we didn't. It was the best home possible. Local, two DC, a very close friend knows the family. They ride for he same Pony Club as we did.

They approached us at a competition, asked to try him. First person to sit on him would buy him, I knew that - he's a 'push button' as they say. He wasn't even up for sale. Sold him for a profit but they also bought the horse box, tack and pretty much everything too.

So we are there one evening agreeing to sell and they don't quibble any price, and then a week later they collect him, and the box, and everything else and I've got £££ extra in the bank and we are heartbroken. And everything is gone.

But he's out competing and being loved and used and doing his thing, even doing dressage and jumping and everything we didn't have time for, and we have a wobble but then we remember this is right for him. Early for us, but good for him.

Blubber, sob....Smile

Bornlazy · 09/08/2018 19:56

Lovely to see you back jam 👍

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 09/08/2018 19:57

Oh my god!! I am virtually grabbing you and giving you a massive hug jam I have missed you so much, I am actually feeling a bit emotional! !

And jam I am now very proud to tell you I can run the junior parkrun without stopping 😂 in fact am going for a little run in a mo! !

Hope you are okay, we knew you wouldn't leave us without good reason 😘

In frugal news I've just had an online argument with a chap from the national Trust as they took £18 out of my account! Apparently they took payment a month in advance or something, I argued my point but they had sent me an email with all the info on that I had missed so he was having none of it!! Annoying though.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 09/08/2018 20:01

And can any of you recommend an online dress company, I want a beautiful 1950s type style dress for my bday party this year, I need to look fabulous in it but also be able to docie doe in it 😁 have looked at elsies attic but the sizes seem odd, I'm a size 12.

WreckTangled · 09/08/2018 20:04

Lindybop girlie?

lifelongfrugaleer · 09/08/2018 20:04

Welcome back just. Missed you.

Justanothermile · 09/08/2018 20:06

Thank you born

Get a grip girlie Grin

That’s brilliant re the Parkrun. Fabulous that you’ve achieved that. One of the good things in the last few months has been our running club running a beginners and improvers course. I helped with the improvers and never missed a week. Seeing their pride in run/walking at the start to running 10k at the end of the summer was immense. They went from ‘I can’t’ to ‘wow, I can!!’. So brilliant, I got more from it than they did I think!!

Cagliostro · 09/08/2018 20:07

Excellent fluffy thanks. It just occurred to me that we can have them. Why the hell not. Where did you get it?

Jam we did indeed! Suddenly leapt up the list in June and moved in almost three weeks ago. Housing association place in an amazing location (by a big park and walking distance to town), sweet little garden, and almost £300pm less than our old place! It still feels massive and I don't think it's sunk in yet that we live here now. I love it so much and keep going on about it, you have been warned! :o

Sorry about DPony :( I know it was on the cards but can't have been easy.

Bolognese was awesome. My friend brought us some rosemary yesterday. Le yum!

lifelongfrugaleer · 09/08/2018 20:12

There was an event your dd might have been in a while ago here but maybe not if dpony was gone. Sounds like he has gone to a home who love him as much as you and will look after him.

I've eaten all the chocolate and feel sick.

I got a new job jam. Similar sector but finally a substantive promotion.
Nothing else changed here.
