Tired. So treated myself to a fresh squeezed orange juice and a pecan danish for breakfast. We were running so late today. £3.00.

Now at work.

Doing a tech freee day as much as possible.

Taytocrisps · 11/07/2018 09:22

Posting this from my holiday home in Mayo (west of Ireland). The weather hasn't been great since we got here - Mayo obviously missed the heatwave memo. The sun came out Monday afternoon so we made a beeline for the beach. Yesterday we went to Westport House which is a big house by a lake. There's a little train, swan boats, a bouncy castle, a log flume ride, a big swing boat etc. We got a massive discount on the entry fee because there was 15 of us. We brought a picnic with us. When we'd finished at the amusements, we went for a wander around the shops in Westport town but I didn't buy anything Halo. DD bought some paints but she spent her own holiday money on them. We've no plans for today. The kids were all tired yesterday evening so we're planning a late, quiet morning. We'll probably watch the match later. I've just looked out the window and we've grey skies again.

Sorry to hear about your dog mammy

SunnyLikeThursday · 11/07/2018 09:36

Em Eeek! Hang in there. The day can only get better.

Took ds back to school. Fingers crossed he gets on ok. Back in bed now fighting the mighty clarinet and learning-to-breathe-properly breathing battle.

Cagliostro · 11/07/2018 10:06

So sorry mammy rest in peace huskydog :( Thanks xxx

Loveabaconsandwich · 11/07/2018 10:35

I am so sorry mammy Thanks

Not much sleep happening here last night either. DD1 said she had a headache before bed and then was sick everywhere two hours later and had a temperature. She is fine today, at home. Pleased she seems ok as one of her closest school friends has scarlet fever-will be keeping a close eye on her

She is rather content though as it is DD1s birthday and she is happily now building her new Lego

I had to call my boss to say I couldn't go in and one of my colleagues had told him about my new job beforehand. Now that was one awkward/grovelling conversation!!

Going to try and catch up on some housework today. I had to rewash the sicked on bedding as the bits hadn't washed off 🤢

lifelongfrugaleer · 11/07/2018 10:49

Mammy, a binge is totally understandable. It's shit what's happened. It hurts so much as hard as it is to make that choice. Look after yourself, D's and ddog today.

Love, your colleagues had no business telling your news. Bet you are fuming.

£2.50 parking. At A&e with DS this time. Foot injury again. Supposed to be at a big meeting today. Hopefully my boss will understand.

lifelongfrugaleer · 11/07/2018 10:50

It also means I'm going to have to pay for parking at work too. FFS.

SunnyLikeThursday · 11/07/2018 11:20

Sorry to hear that love. You really sounds so calm with all that. Well done. My ds had the whole textbook scarlet fever experience so if you're in doubt about symptoms please do ask. I've seen the whole shebang.

I'm being super brave and trying to learn a musical scale today. I'm properly scared of those, having failed utterly at many musical endeavours as a child. I'm strapping on the courage now.

WreckTangled · 11/07/2018 12:49

Oh love that's naughty of them. Children can vomit when their temperature goes up quickly. Hopefully she will recover quickly.

£30 fuel
£4 lunch. Tuna and dill baguette and lentil crisps. Yum.

Flappyjack · 11/07/2018 13:26

mammy so sorry to hear about your dog. Pets are so much a part of the family aren't they? And I am sure he has left a giant husky shaped hole behind. Take care and be easy on yourself - its a tough time.

£68 Tesco...sort of meal planned.
£6 Marks and spencer (gin chocolates for DM who is retiring tomorrow and a blue berry muffin for me because I didn't have time for breakfast and was almost on my knees with an empty stomach by 10.30am). I resisted the urge for a costa even though the pull was strong.

DS has cubs tonight but no subs because they are singing around the campfire.

Loveabaconsandwich · 11/07/2018 14:28

DD1 seems fine and I have now lined up DM to look after her tomorrow due to the rules on sickness. I had a little nap Blush

Need to try and persuade her to eat some of her birthday tea later as she has mainly nibbled away all day.

I'd like to think my colleague was trying to be nice so the boss could get over his annoyance before I spoke to him unlikely but trying to be the bigger person here

I'm so sorry that your ex is playing games again with the maintenance money lonely. You are allowed to feel blue and we're here to vent your frustrations to Thanks

Fluffycloudland77 · 11/07/2018 14:42

Well done for resisting the coffee Flappy, frittering on food out is the devils work.

£5 petrol.
£1.42 three lettuces.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 11/07/2018 14:51

Spends today
€75 gift voucher for restaurant opp Vets, as he wouldn't take payment for anything other than ddog's surgery.

€14 on lunch while I was there, warm goats cheese salad - needed that 30 mins to myself today.

Grocery shopping done - €150 approx using discount code of €13 off, lots of treats included as H is having the dc by himself from Fri to Sun this weekend.

Cagliostro · 11/07/2018 15:37

Mmmm I love warm goats cheese.

More stuff moved to the house today thanks to a kind friend. Yay! We brought some emptied boxes back to pack with more stuff.

SnugglySnerd · 11/07/2018 15:38

So sorry mammy. Losing a pet is horrible, they are part of the family.

CurlsandCurves · 11/07/2018 16:07

Sounds like quite a few of us are not having the best of days today! Hugs to anyone who needs them.

Had a blood pressure appointment today. Despite a higher dosage and having lost 1.5 stone, it’s still not low enough. So additional medication required. Annoyingly although I have lost 4lb in the 6 weeks since I was last there, her scales said I’d gained! Fuming! Pointed out that I could show her I’ve actually lost (ww app on my phone) and that we are in a different room on a different set of scales to last time. Fortunately she understood and said I’m doing really well. Even more determined to get both the weight and BP under control.

Top up shop (again). We get through bread and milk so quickly. Also needed to buy coat hangers. I swear someone in this house eats them.

And finally £40 on more shorts for DS1. Although the beauty of having 2 boys is that everything I buy for DS1, DS2 will also wear eventually. So technically I’m getting twice the wear, or you could say they cost me half the price...? Well, that’s how I like to think of it!

mammynowanauntyIRL · 11/07/2018 17:25

Just spent €331.75 on credit with littlewoods, unfortunately no discount codes around at the moment buy did get it on buy now pay 6 months later interest free. Of that €227.25 is on shoes - I will be keeping one pair of walking shoes and possibly the gorgeous high heels down to €16.75 from €42 too, the rest is on school uniforms.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 11/07/2018 17:34

Oh mammy so sorry to hear that, sending hugs. We found it useful to go through photos and talk about all the happy times with boycat, he also has a little memorial area in the garden 🐱 bless him.

We are going out tonight to watch Legally Blonde the musical!! Going to miss the footie which I'm a bit gutted about but hey ho.

Nsd.

SunnyLikeThursday · 11/07/2018 17:35

Curls How do you get blood pressure down?

SunnyLikeThursday · 11/07/2018 17:37

Our school has a meeting tonight about how we're being turned into an academy after having got a really crappy ofsted report. It all feels a bit scary to me, though apparently some parents had the presence of mind to complain that it clashes with the football. (!?).

WreckTangled · 11/07/2018 17:48

That's a shame sunny. One of our special schools has had the same thing happen. I think all schools will be academies eventually.

Girlie that sounds fun!

CremeEggThief · 11/07/2018 17:56

NSD.

lifelongfrugaleer · 11/07/2018 18:16

£10.50 afternoon childcare, £25 3x shorts from mountain warehouse. My oven is broken FFS. However much that will cost

mammynowanauntyIRL · 11/07/2018 18:17

Bill will be halved when shoes go back I'm not sure if that was clear!

Girlie I read that fast and was thinking you meant I should talk to boydog about girldog but I get you now!!

SnugglySnerd · 11/07/2018 18:53

I wonder if anyone will turn up Sunny! I can honestly say that becoming an academy hasn't brought one obvious positive to our school and we were one of those that "chose" to convert as we were outstanding.

Football about to start. Eeek!
