Girlie Thanks for asking. You know that thing in pregnancy where people get their stomach turned by strong smells? Well I got that very suddenly after ds weaned four years ago and it's never gone away, but I also get it from strong tastes. I tried eating a small bit of carrot a while ago and it took me two days to recover.
I also had to give up dairy when ds was about 2 years old because it was causing nausea, and it was really very much easier to just live without it.
I did try pushing the boat out a few weeks ago and I had a tiny cube of avocado, but I reacted so strongly do it that I couldn't eat or have more than sips of water for three days. I went to the GP on the third day and impressed him with my mild incoherence, so at least he understands that it's a real thing.
I have no idea whether it's do to with the sleep deprivation of ds's early years, or to do with the hormones of breastfeeding, or to do with ASD, or a combination of those, but it's a pain the backside to live with. Quietly craves Feast lolly
I've been referred to a sleep and breathing specialist now so I'm sort of hoping that he might be able to help. I think it maybe to do with chronic hyperventilation, which is why I'm bashing away relentlessly as this clarinet, as that helps sort out the breathing. It's damned hard work, and frequently sounds like a train whistle.
Long story, sorry. But thanks for asking.
