Football tournament day here £12 on parking, tea, bouncy castle and cream. Left dh to pack a picnic and he didn't bring enough.

lifelongfrugaleer · 02/06/2018 13:44

Out for dinner tonight as dh birthday and the birthday person chooses food. I cba to cook steak so pub it is as part of his present

LonelyOversharer · 02/06/2018 13:53

I've been rollerblading in the park with dd1 and 3. Was really fun right up until I hit a metal gate at speed, my poor knee caps. It was that or crash. Dp and ds went to b&q so saved me spending there. We came home for lunch Halo

Going to potter the rest of the day away.

seacow keep trucking. Is dd feeling better yet?

Cagliostro · 02/06/2018 14:08

Ooooh girlie a Rowan tree, clearly the best kind :o Wink

I’ve totally wasted the day so far. I feel like a rabbit in headlights!

lifelongfrugaleer · 02/06/2018 14:11

Make lists cag. That's a good way to get your thoughts down to order them

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 02/06/2018 14:42

Haha cag I thought that 😉 maybe in your new house you could plant one!!

Cagliostro · 02/06/2018 14:58

Oh that’s an idea! 😍 I’m so excited to have a garden. I think it will be pretty small, but I’m not so bothered if we have a park right next to us (we would even move sports club there) as we will have heaps of space to play whenever we want. We’ve already agreed that we won’t spend time and money planting particular things this year, as it’s a bit too late and we will have so much else to do and pay for. The only thing we will do is mark out a wild area and keep the rest mowed. And we always promised the Caglets a trampoline :o

Life you’re right, I’ve held off as I am thinking we don’t know the exact details/timeframe etc yet but actually I have so many thoughts whirring round my head and I at least need to get something out, even if they then need adjusting. I’m feeling a bit useless today, the Caglets are playing out and wandering in and out with neighbours driving me batshit crazy (DS super stimmy today as well - trampoline is practically a medical need it will help so much with this 😂) and Cagletini is impossible to leave anywhere downstairs ATM

So I’m just going to shove her in the buggy, put a wash on and take everyone to the park. The kids all walk together and I go a separate route to give them some independence, same on the way back, and I’ll pop over to the coop while they play. I totally crave carbs when anxious 😳😳😳

Fluffycloudland77 · 02/06/2018 15:51

NSD.

Wolfcub · 02/06/2018 16:44

Cag it’s all sounding very exciting
Girly the tree sounds great
Sea don’t overdo the cleaning
Life hope dh has a good birthday

Mixed day here. Saw friend and baby whilst ds had contact £5 coffee. Received bday present from h via ds but he’s not remembered to help ds get me a card - I’m not sure how he thinks ds got him both a card and present without help!
Took ds to event £5 churros £12 Shock for polish sausage in a bun and a chicken wrap and they tried to overcharge!
Took cash out of the machine and hit the wrong button so ended up withdrawing £200 rather than £20 would have to take a trip to the city to pay it back in as they don’t have my bank around here. £34 Sainsbury’s on not very much there is wine in the basket much needed as ds being foul
Planted fuschia tree from dgm in the garden looks nice although not quite what I asked for.

MeadowHay · 02/06/2018 17:54

Seacow We have been through your lovely parcel, thank you so much we are delighted it is all lovely! We are especially chuffed with the sling and carrier. A new job on our list is to figure out how to use them Grin ! As we live up three flights of stairs I'm really hoping to take to one of them ASAP to use mostly instead of the pram for the first couple of months before we move house.

I actually did a social thing today without DH which is super rare. Went for lunch with my friend who was a colleague but left a few weeks before I went on mat leave. Spent like £11, it was super yummy, mezze in a Lebanese place. And she gave me a blanket that her mam has crotched (how do you spell that?) for the baby, aw.

DH's 15yr old cousin is here for a sleepover Hmm Grin.

Lonely Hope your poor knees are ok, ouch!

Cag Do you roughly know when you will be moving? Sorry I cannot keep up with this thread at all Blush.

It is horrible weather here, warm-ish but rainy and clammy.

Wolfcub · 02/06/2018 18:57

Shopping order put in for Monday. Not huge amounts of food but have ordered lashings of suncream, aftersun, insect repellant and bite cream for ds and I for our holiday. Thinking of taking ds to go outdoors tomorrow for the waterproof he needs for his school trip - can use bluelight card for discount but will see how he is behaving first

AuditAngel · 02/06/2018 19:03

Afternoon everyone.

Definitely not an NSD. Bus fares £3, free theatre ticket, £14 on 2 drinks at the theatre, £4.60 on a croque Monsieur for lunch, managed not to buy sweets at the theatre (I really wanted them!). £4.69 in McDonalds. About £13 in Sainsburys for mince x2, potatoes and hoodies. Need to do an online shop.

Need petrol.

lifelongfrugaleer · 02/06/2018 19:10

Wolf what did you end up doing for your birthday?

Lovely tea for dh birthday. He's had a good day. £64 at the pub, £45 Aldi, £7 Iceland. I'm refusing to buy any more food this week.

Don't worry about keeping up.

My ndn is having twins in the next few weeks, first DC. I know her to speak to but not well iykwim. What could I get her as a present? Any ideas?

Wolfcub · 02/06/2018 19:54

Birthday on Monday Life. Have asked dm and df if we can go for a nice dog walk.

Had a small reward voucher from work so bought myself a reduced scholl express pedi thing for my hooves. Just had a go and am very impressed.

The best present I got when ds was born were prem nappies and wipes just because it was something that actually helped so maybe nappies, wipes and a small rattle or soft toy each? Or a nice blanket for each?

Audit what did you see at the theatre? I love the theatre but it’s sooo expensive

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 02/06/2018 20:40

Had a ridiculous accident with a garden fork which ended me in a&e tonight!! Who knew gardening could be so dangerous? !! Anyway they gave me a tetanus jab and I'm home now, my brother and mum came over to offer sympathy and tell me off for trying to put the tree in by myself 😰

Tree is now in and looking lovely, almost worth the pain 😉

Today is one of those days I need a medal for not succumbing to a takeaway, or even a ready meal. Go me! I had plenty of ingredients but no energy to make something proper so I just cobbled together random bits and pieces (while shoving mackerel and turkey mince in the freezer as they were nearing UBD). DD said “it might not be posh food mum but I really like it when you do dinners like this”. Aww.

I just remembered mum gave me a couple of notebooks (because they have sloths on) so I’ll use one for moving plans!

The move will be sometime before the end of July, assuming we can get contracts etc early enough (I expect so as council timetables are supposedly pretty quick here - mind you this is HA so may be different). Otherwise a month later but I shouldn’t think any later than that.

On June 19th we will have lived here 10 years. Nearly a third of my life! It was just before DD turned one.

Cagliostro · 02/06/2018 20:48

Eeeek girlie sounds scary!

LonelyOversharer · 02/06/2018 21:15

girlie!! Puncture wound? Hope you are ok x Your tree is a biggie, Rowans have a lovely canopy once established, it will look lovely there. And tonnes of birdie berries.

I have a very sore left kneecap. It's going to have a silly bruise on it. From the strava profile I hit the solid metal gate (with cut out lettering on it) at 7mph! Felt like about 30.

Went to b&q again, for more tiles for dp to finish the job. Used a gift card, so £4 only. Took dd1 to the range, spent £20, used cash dp gave me for the tiles, but got dd2 a few birthday bits.

Tea was fish fingers, chips and posh beans (baked beans, mixed beans, pasatta, smoked paprika and a pepporami) cheap, filling.

WreckTangled · 02/06/2018 21:25

Ouch girlie!

We went to the village fete (£18 spent). Ds got some new trucks (massive ones), dd got the three Harry Potter books that she hasn't got (although she's read them before. They both went on the trampoline and I bought ds an ice cream and had a go on the tombola. I let dd go off with her friends and she bought a fizzy drink Angry a doughnut, popcorn, an ice cream and then was sick. Lesson learnt. She was fine are that and my friend (who bought me sweet peas after I said how much I love them) and her dc came back to mine for dinner. It was unplanned but I did hot dogs, chips and salad. Tired now the dc have only just gone to bed.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 02/06/2018 21:44

Yep lonely I won't tell you where though 😉😅 too ridiculous! ! Am hoping its not too big for my garden? Will have to see how much shade it gives off I guess.

wreck that's the sort of thing my dd would do, she went to a party Friday and drank wayyyy too much Pepsi, she was high as a kite when I picked her up!!

WreckTangled · 02/06/2018 21:50

She doesn't know when to stop! Ds isn't like that at all but I am Blush so I suppose I can't blame her! It's her first real taste of freedom really I suppose so not the worst thing than could have happened!

laComtessede · 02/06/2018 22:01

Hope that's not too painful @Girliefriendlikesflowers.

NSD Smile

Wolfcub · 02/06/2018 22:24

Ouch Girlfriend, hope it’s not too painful. The tree is beautiful

ChristmasSeacow · 02/06/2018 22:51

I definitely haven’t overdone the cleaning Wolf Grin. I’m going to have a busy morning tomorrow but too full of cold today to care. DD is much better but she’s given her snot to me Hmm. I have lolled around a lot. Feeling a bit guilty after leaving DH with the kids for the last 2 days but I really wasn’t up to much. DH is lovely and hasn’t moaned at all it does look as though the house has been burgled though

Meadow I’m so glad it’s all useful. And I got a nice chunk of space back in my spare room Wink. For figuring out slings YouTube is your friend. My advice is to get baby into the soft sling asap, even round the house. Then he/she will be more likely to tolerate it, and you get two hands to make toast with!

Girlie great tree, I too love a Rowan Wink. And you’ll get lots of birds. Hope your foot mends soon.

Cag I am keeping everything crossed that this house works out as your excitement is infectious!

Wreck Age 5 I ate an entire pack of twiglets against my mother’s advice and threw up on my own doorstep, literally. I’ve not been near a twiglet since...

SnugglySnerd · 03/06/2018 06:38

Ouch Girlie! Hope you are OK.
