Can I admit, I am super panicky, and really scared that I’ll hate it for some stupid reason.

Holy fuck though we have SO MUCH TO DO

Cagliostro · 01/06/2018 17:13

Not that I’m not ridiculously happy and relieved and grateful and excited as well of course! Don’t want to sound all negative! My mind is just in overdrive. :o :o

mammynowanauntyIRL · 01/06/2018 17:32

£15 cashback off £60 spend in Sainsburys

SunnyLikeThursday · 01/06/2018 17:35

That's great news Cag! Fantastic. Smile StarStarStarStar

You worked hard for that. Smile

Em I'm sorry to hear it's a struggle. I hope things feel better once your mil has left. It's clearly far too much to deal with at the moment.

I'm home and having a nice time. I played my fiddle and went to the clarinet shop and got softer reeds, and had a nice time playing that too. Life is starting to feel much less chaotic suddenly. I feel like we may be approaching dry land, which is nice. Ds now has a driving urge to play the french horn and has been told to save up the rental price if he really wants it.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 01/06/2018 17:44

Sorry guys I've not read everyone else's post but OMG CAG so happy for you

WreckTangled · 01/06/2018 17:58

Wow cag that's so bloody exciting!!

Em sorry you're feeling so shit, don't blame you for not wanting to go out.

CremeEggThief · 01/06/2018 17:59

Oh wow, Cag, that is super news! So, so pleased for you!Grin

Cagliostro · 01/06/2018 18:04

QuiteCleanBandit · 01/06/2018 18:17

Caaaaaaaaaaaag!!!😍😍😍😍🎈🎉🎆
Thats such great news !So happy for you .

Small frugal win -refund for shoddy service £250 Grin cant really say what but due to the hassle it was put right AND I got a refund .
Treated DC and I to a Charlie Bigham ready meal £7.50 Grin and a nice bunch of peonies for me.
Adore peonies .
Rest chucked into savings 😇
em I felt exactly the same - I think its perfectly normal .
Luckily we managed to arrange work between us as DH WFH but also his work is intense but very flexible.
Its very very hard to feel torn in so many directions but like you I couldnt bear the thought of not working .So tough.
Coning through the other side with teen /adultish DC Im so glad I did work.
I am seeing quite a few very unhappy colleagues who SAH and didnt pay into.pensions who are stuffed now and quite bitter .
You are a great Mum and sometimes that means doing whats best for the family and long term future but hard for you Flowers

ememem84 · 01/06/2018 18:24

Fantastic news cag. Totally fine to be both excited and terrified.

It's the guilt em, guilt at being at work away from DC, guilt at of you don't then you can't give them the life you want. It's shit but it's early days. Mil stress does not help. See how you go for a few weeks after her visit.

ememem84 · 01/06/2018 18:31

cag I am so excited for you!!!

Dh just asked why I was grinning so I said it was because one of my “support group” had found a new house. 💙

Said to dh that if I could go back and have a do over I’d not invite mil now. I’d suggest September. For me the stress of her coupled with back to work is too much. By the time September rolls around I should be ok...!

Yes it’s absolutely the guilt. Either way I feel guilty.

notmrscookie · 01/06/2018 18:56

So please for u cag. If they are the ones I think they are they look nice driving past... Em I understand where u are coming from it will get easier.. Thinking of u sea.. In wired dilemma went for interview they loved me !! No wage in job description . Home manager on unexpected leave .. Regional manager offered job no idea of salary told him my current one and he said he get back to me .. Pro New job every other weekend off and it's a fun job current job no shift pattern but shift is either crap or really good but it's at the local Hospice !

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 01/06/2018 19:07

cag I just did a little happy dance for you 😆 brilliant news, I love my little new build! ! We are slightly obsessed with the greatest showman here, I bought the dvd last week and am itching to watch it again (twice in the same week!!)

em working mum guilt is shit, be kind to yourself.

Both your babies are adorable!!

Dd is off at a party so im home alone for a bit...

LonelyOversharer · 01/06/2018 19:11

em, cag your babies are simply gorgeous!

Spag bol for tea. Very nice especially as dp made it. Enough sauce left for another go, added to meal plan in 25 days!

lifelongfrugaleer · 01/06/2018 19:18

The guilt is a no win I'm afraid and you will find a way to work through it. Although this week is not the best time. You have got him somewhere safe that you trust. He is totally fine and remember how his face lights up when he sees you, because you are him mum and he loves you regardless.
It's a big thing to admit you are not sahm material as social conditioning is a twat.
You do what is right for you and your family.
You are not alone if that's any consolation we've all been through it either as working parents or sahm.

Cagliostro · 01/06/2018 19:20

OMG em 😍😍😍😍😍 that little pout! He’s like errrm MY twiglets, and what of it? Too. Damn. Cute.

Wolfcub · 01/06/2018 19:50

Em and Cag I love your baby pictures gorgeous littles

WreckTangled · 01/06/2018 19:56

I've got a sympathy ulcer em! Just the one though and I can't even talk because of where is is so I really feel for you must be horrendous!

lifelongfrugaleer · 01/06/2018 19:56

Gorgeous DC.

Fluffycloudland77 · 01/06/2018 21:23

He’s like a big baby doll Em

Quite Well done on that refund. And putting it into savings.

Is the other manager leaving Cookie?

ememem84 · 01/06/2018 21:57

We’ve just watched jumanji. Not the original one (which is still as scary as hell) but the new one with Dwayne Johnson. So good!!!

Dh gave me the option of jumanji or pitch perfect 3. I chose wisely I think.

He’s said to mil that we are not going out. She is welcome for dinner tomorrow but no sleepovers. Dh has wussed out been kind and told her that because ds has a cough she’d get no sleep anyway.

He is in a Difficult position. But since being home we’ve talked again. And he seems to get it. Well for now anyway. He is one of those “snap out of it” people so we’ll see....

Anyway. Now in bed with catface. She gets it.

Ds has discovered his willy. So nappy changes are even more fun now.....

Unescorted · 01/06/2018 22:01

cag that is seriously good news. Knowing how slow business is at this time of year it is amazing.

Sea hope today went smoothly. I was thinking of you.

Thanks for all your advice. I think I will go through his line manager. It is impacting on my work.... I end up having to work late because I am either dealing with a misunderstanding or being talked at. If the right support is given he will be great but he doesn't have a workload and doesn't appear to realise that the rest of us are up to our eyeballs. Without being told there is a diagnosis you are right quite I came wade in. Without letting his LM know it will continue. It is frustrating.

Back to watching the dot.... Dh and DS are about a day and a half away from finishing their Highland trail ,550 race. I am missing them.
