Em I've done that too. The backbone thing is weird isn't it? I always thought that bareback riding would be incredibly romantic and natural, but it really is just bony. Hurrah for saddles.

Wolfcub · 12/05/2018 16:06

2.50 ice cream whilst walking the dog whilst ds was at a brief performance

ememem84 · 12/05/2018 16:20

Absolutely sunny I didn’t feel balanced at all and it hurt. You must need an arse and a fanny of steel to do that long term!

Quick tidy up here. Washing x2 done. Hoovered floors. Washed up twice. SS bathed.

Dh and I are going out tonight so dparents are babysitting. Must have a clean ish house for Dm!! Haha.

Pizza for dinner. We may/may not get some food as evening wedding guests. I don’t know how it works really. We didn’t have evening guests at ours. Well actually we did. But just a few. And we had cake. But because I’m a bit of a light weight anyway and get drunk v quickly if I haven’t eaten I’m eating before we go. Ham and pineapple pizza. Mmmmm.

Art3mis · 12/05/2018 16:27

Aldi - £38
Tesco - £14

Meal plan (no particular order):

Sausages and mash w/ beans
Pizza and chips
Cheesy pasta and garlic bread w/veg
Stir fry and noodles
Freezer tea
Egg and chips w/ beans and hash brown
Spaghetti Bolognese and garlic bread

Thanks for the welcome. Payday on Tuesday so will have a better idea of how f**d we are then.

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/05/2018 16:32

You should get a buffet, they start 6 or 7 usually.

ememem84 · 12/05/2018 16:37

Oooh I love a buffet. I’ve been to weddings before where it’s just a cheeseboard (yum) or cake (yum).

My most favourite had bacon rolls at 10pm. Followed by donuts. We were at the whole thing - early morning (1130) church service then a LOT of drinks. Then dinner/lunch at around 4.

We’re meeting a friend at the pub at 630. Then getting a cab there together for 730.

Just having a “quiet” lie down with my bottle of water (must hydrate before drinking), mumsnet, catface and ds. Catface likes napping on bed with ds. Ds loves it too. Every time she gets comfy he goes for her tail or shakes his noisy toy in her direction. She. Is. Very. Tolerant.

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/05/2018 16:54

We had bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs and baps. Red & brown sauce. In huge silver buffet servers. People still say it’s the best wedding they’ve been to. Usually they say this to Dh. I organised and paid for it.

Worst buffet, thrice cooked stodge. Possibly from bookers wholesale.

Art Are you sure their right? It’s a huge amount to lose.

ememem84 · 12/05/2018 16:59

Yummm.

We went to a wedding in the US A FEW YEARS AGO. and they served as the main food fish finger sammies, burgers, chips, meatball subs, mac n cheese, and had a crisp buffet. It was glorious.

ChristmasSeacow · 12/05/2018 17:14

I went to the wedding of a Friend to an Italian girl once. In Milan. I think there were 10 courses. Apparently that’s standard for Italian weddings.

It is also standard for Polish weddings to go on all night. We went to one that had a sit down meal around 4 pm, then a. Buffet at 10pm, then a full on barbecue / hog roast at 3am. I’m glad I was young at the time, I’d not be able to go the distance now Grin. I was lucky that so many of my uni friends scattered to foreign parts, we had some cracking weddings and holidays pre-DC

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/05/2018 17:22

No one gets drunk and thinks “ooh I’ll have a smoked salmon vol au vent with a smoked salmon blini chaser with some coleslaw”

There was a dry wedding in our family —due to the religions huge issues with alcoholism— so Dh refused to go.

Art3mis · 12/05/2018 17:29

Fluffy won't know until we get the paperwork as online it only gives payment details nothing else. Maybe there is an overpayment? No clue.

Wolfcub · 12/05/2018 17:32

The American wedding food sounds good Em, we are having meatball subs for tea

Thishatisnotmine · 12/05/2018 19:13

Oooh, we gave our wedding guests bacon sandwiches and cake in the evening.

I am going to make an effort to cook dal for mr tomorrow to eat for the first half of the week. I tell myself I am doing a fasting diet but then tot up the food I eat over a few days and its nit enough.

Spent £5 in Tesco, £9 in the butcher - mince which has gone into a huge veg and bean heavy chilli with plenty left over and the rest of the mince I will freeze for burgers next week, and some tomato sausages which will go into a lovely pasta bake tomorrow, dh will take the leftovers of tgat for lunch. I also bought a £5 bottle of wine from the Coop as my mum has given us some money. There was a little bit leftover after all the probate was done after my grandmother died that she was keeping until we were more settled so didn't spend it on bills. But after I spoke to her about how much we were struggling (although I couldn't tell her the extent) she decided we need it now. So it will get me out of my overdraft, not dh but he has started to do lots of overtime. Its not going to be spent though, just go into my account. I feel an actual sense of relief.

Thishatisnotmine · 12/05/2018 19:26

quite was moving to Bulb straightforward? We are with Good Energy and I think we would struggle to find a supplier more expensive

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 12/05/2018 19:36

art I would ring them, if you tell them it will leave you financially screwed they might recalculate...

seacow I'm not sure how a funeral would work if you're not able to talk about the deceased at all? I understand you wanting to respect his wishes though, been thinking of you lots xx

I've had a busy day, went for a quick run (ran 2k without stopping!!) Then went into town which was stressful as needed to buy dd new shoes, due to her sensory issues shoe buying (or clothes buying for that matter!) is not enjoyable and usually ends in tears (mine 😉) anyway eventually found some £34 in the sale.

Also some new underwear £18, sink unblocker £2.50, parking £3.20.

£7 on the 3 plants, foxgloves, lupins and campanula which I thought was good value and goes with my cottage garden theme.

Spent 3 hours in the garden this afternoon, knackered now 😪

lifelongfrugaleer · 12/05/2018 19:45

6 hours at a cubs, scouts, beavers things. Got take out for tea as all filthy and tired.
Sat on my ass or stood watching so rubbish steps and macros mammy.

Ordered an Asda shop for £69 Inc delivery but now the forecast for tomorrow is rain. Was going to go out.

SnugglySnerd · 12/05/2018 20:52

Busy busy day and I'm exhausted but it's been a lovely day. All the dcs on good form and it didn't rain until we got home.

Am now half watching Eurovision which is as bad as ever with a beer.

Wolf and Sea sorry things are so hard for you both at the moment Flowers

Loveabaconsandwich · 12/05/2018 21:20

Two coats of light grey paint done on DD2s new bedroom. Quite a job as it is a big room. Just the misses to do on the walls tomorrow and then the carpet to take up before painting the woodwork.

I’m looking forward to seeing the room finally done up nicely once the new carpet arrives. It was grim when we moved in but not a priority as it was the spare/junk room.

£28 on two blackout blinds for the bedroom
£15 on extra pot of paint (which should also leave enough to paint the walls in the downstairs toilet)

Hope your DS was ok after contact with his dad today wolf

Glad that the help from your DM should help a bit thishat

DP is currently unblocking the u bend in the kitchen sink. Fun times here!

ememem84 · 13/05/2018 01:20

HOme. Probably around £39 bar at wedding. Playlist was amazing. Lots of 90’s tunes. I danced my ass off. And enjoyed the karaeoke cab and photo booth mirror. Arrived home with dh just now with a pair I’ve oversized comedy sunglasses. Then fell up the stairs and have smashed my elbow against th e wall. Ouch. Dm wanted to take me to a&e but I’m too tired. I just want bed. So have sent them
Home. I’ll go tomorrow if I can’t move it. Or can’t sleep.

SnugglySnerd · 13/05/2018 05:26

I hope ds is kind and doesn't force and early start Em. Our ds has decided 4.45 is his new waking up time and that he wants both his sisters to get up and play with him so he's as loud as possible. I have persuaded DD2 back to sleep but he was having none of it.

Early morning frugal discovery though. Leftover Lanisoh is great on chapped lips!

SunnyLikeThursday · 13/05/2018 06:18

I was just about to say something quite sensible, and then it went clean out of my head. I'm sure that bodes well for the day. Smile

Snuggly I totally hear you on the sleep struggles you are having. I had similar with just my one. I hope you are okay there.

SnugglySnerd · 13/05/2018 06:26

Thanks Sunny. The girls are up now which is actually easier as they are all playing together and I'm having a brew then making breakfast.
Just noticed our neighbour arriving home with his teenage DD who has obviously been at a party or club so it doesn't look like it gets any better when they are older!

lifelongfrugaleer · 13/05/2018 06:52

We are up early as DS had a bad dream. DC are both back asleep but I'm up and can barely walk. Stupid weights.
Rain here, we will have some doggy scouts. So pleased the weather was better yesterday.
Was going to car boot today but it's too wet.

WreckTangled · 13/05/2018 06:55

Ouch em! Sounds like a good night though.

Ds woke us up at 6:30 screaming and having a proper tantrum because dh told him it was my turn to get up and he was having a lie in. Not what I want to be dealing with when I first wake up.

ememem84 · 13/05/2018 07:00

Elbow is fine. Bruised. But I can move it. So hoorah. I also appear to have grazed my knee. Whether that was during my fall up the stairs or when I did the splits and almost won the dance off. Until my friend did a back flip. In her dress. Show off...

It was so so much fun. I feel very hungover now.

Frugal day. As I’ll be going nowhere.
