Ah sea YY to grief being hideous and will catch you unaware. Be kind to yourself it's early days and emotions are raw. Can you get an hour or so today to go for a walk or something in the sun cloud just for some peace.

Please eat frugaleers. My mam was the same when I was little as we had nothing. She used to skip meals to feed me. It's so so hard.

lifelongfrugaleer · 12/05/2018 09:02

Excellent savings bandit. Woop woop

ememem84 · 12/05/2018 09:11

morning All.

Busy day here. Riding this morning £27 then have chores etc to do then we’re off to a wedding evening party. Yay! We were thrilled to be invited especially as it’s really a friend of a friend getting married. We’ve become more of a group I suppose so it’s lovely and so kind theyve invited us.

Sadly it is not lovely wedding weather here. But I’m sure they will have the most perfect day.

Wolfcub · 12/05/2018 09:19

And strike 3 h’s friend has just delivered me a heartbreaking half love letter half pity me letter from H.

ememem84 · 12/05/2018 09:21

Also my lovely friend got engaged. I’m so happy for her (and slightly Shock at the sheer size and beauty of her engagement ring - seriously she’s going to have to learn to walk with a tilt the things so huge!) she’s been with her lovely bf for ages and she never thought they’d get engaged/married. Yay!!!

Unescorted · 12/05/2018 09:25

wolf dear god. What a day.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 12/05/2018 09:36

Dd is gone to a ladybirds outing so I thought I'd take ds to breakfast but he wasn't having any of it, so we went to Dunnes stores to pick up sandals for dd to wear to communion next week and ended up with a pack of dairylea lunchables for breakfast which were on 2 for €3, slimmers breakfast would've been about €7. Bought two pairs of sandals for sizing & will return second pair €15 each.

Quite excellent savings

Wolf ThanksCake definitely Cake needed today Sad

LonelyOversharer · 12/05/2018 09:48

Crikey wolf at least thats 3 and you can go about your day without expecting any more disaster. What is your H hoping to achieve, apart from more upset? My mum used to say "It's all very well feeling sorry for yourself now..."

QuiteCleanBandit · 12/05/2018 10:12

Wolf you dont have to read it .
I would send it back .
Sorry you are going through this Flowers

wolf it was wrong of the friend to get involved like that.

£23 on these I read tan looks classy in summer. I’ll get free returns if I don’t like them.

quite That’s an excellent saving for a winter quarter.

ememem84 · 12/05/2018 10:54

Love those fluffy

WreckTangled · 12/05/2018 11:04

Sea we can't afford to go away so that definitely won't be happening. It must be hard carrying on, I hope your mum is ok.

Wolf poor you. Odd thing for be 'friend' to do.

£60 on sandals for dd and crocs for ds ffs
£5 birthday present
£10 Tesco.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 12/05/2018 11:51

€3.99 on a lucky dip magazine for ds and €1.60 on newspaper for me.
€48 filling with diesel on fuel card plus collected my monthly free treat of can Coke Zero and a snickers Grin

mammynowanauntyIRL · 12/05/2018 11:56

Wreck it's half your holidays with the dc, but that's still more than lots of parents get with their dc & if they'd enjoy time with grandparents & you'd enjoy it & money wouldn't all get spent on Melissa & Doug then it'd benefit you all.

LonelyOversharer · 12/05/2018 12:06

Oh I like those fluffy but not for my hobbit feet. I'm closed toe all the way.

Doing some very dodgy brickwork. And ugh, while harvesting some rocks from my boundary wall (fallen down, we have fenced, but the wall is still mine), my foot sank 6" and I trod on a very indignant rat. Ugh. Decided that was enough rocks!

mammynowanauntyIRL · 12/05/2018 12:24

€9 on eyebrow wax incl tip
No more spends I'm heading home.
Grocery shopping will be delivered estimate €143.66

WreckTangled · 12/05/2018 12:27

Yeah I've marked all the days in my diary and it is quite a few but it's also £1000 before tax and, like you said, most parents don't get the whole of the summer holidays off anyway.

Fluffy I love those sandals

Wolfcub · 12/05/2018 12:37

£2.80 on coffee and a bit of breakfast in ikea. 4.80 birthday card and lotto, 4.80 dehumidifier crystals for cellar. 3 car wash

ChristmasSeacow · 12/05/2018 13:04

I’d probably do it Wreck - if you were still in your old job you’d be working in the holidays too. You can maybe have some special days out with some of the proceeds?

Love those sandals Fluffy, i’d be sorely tempted but my poor PF feet wouldn’t survive

Was contact okay Wolf?

mammynowanauntyIRL · 12/05/2018 13:06

If there isn't a batch of them together it'll be fine!

SunnyLikeThursday · 12/05/2018 13:13

I just took my ds to a man who I think can help with his communication. Ds is a bit behind socially, but very ahead in musical thinking, so I took him to this man who is a composer and music teacher. It went very well, and the man wrote down some of ds's tunes, which ds sang for him. The man says that ds is "working in D flat major", and that he wouldn't have learned that until grade 6 if we'd just gone to a regular music teacher. I'm so glad to have found someone who can talk to ds about this stuff. Weight off the mind.

CremeEggThief · 12/05/2018 13:13

Eek at treading on a rat, Lonely. I would die if that happened to me!Shock

Welcome back to our returners and newbies. Please do eat though. Scrambled eggs or beans on toast every day aren't going to break the bank. Frozen pizzas are only about a quid each, so probably cheaper than homemade

Sorry you've had such a bad start to the day, Wolf. The only way is up now.

I reckon you'll love the p/t job, Wreck. Go for it!

My mum is visiting for a few days, which is nice but will probably be spendy. That said, she paid for lunch in Costa yesterday and about £11 shopping in Spar. She knows I'm really struggling this year. Spends yesterday were £2.55 on an extra latte in Costa and so far, £10 on bus travel for the three of us.

Unescorted · 12/05/2018 13:31

lonely I am wanting to move a compost bin that doesn't get used and is in an awkward p!ace... But I think there is a rat's nest in the bottom. I haven't plucked up the courage to investigate yet.
Quite that is a huge saving.
Sea and wolf stick a hand up if you need anything. I am thinking of you both and I hope you have good rl support systems.

Today I have been overcoming my fear of heights to clean the gutters and reattach the down pipe. A friend is a decorator and lent me tall step ladders which are more stable than normal ones.... I still had to give myself a stern talking to.

WreckTangled · 12/05/2018 13:34

Meal plan in no particular order:

Turkey & courgette burgers
Pasta with chicken sausages
Pasta bolognese x2
Pizza
Nuggets and chips
Chickpea and lentil soup
Lamb kebabs with giant couscous and flatbreads

ememem84 · 12/05/2018 14:56

Riding done. Took saddle off today and had a trot and a canter bareback. Which was scary! I’ve trotted before but not a canter. Pony is bony. Her backbone went right up my bum.

Home now. Was hoping to have leftover veggie burger for lunch but dh has eaten it. So a mix of Halloumi carrot cucumber chocolate cookies and a cuppa. #health
