Thinking of you and your family, Seacow.Flowers

NSD.

Taytocrisps · 04/05/2018 22:01

Woo hoo! It's a bank holiday weekend. And we're forecast good weather. And I have Wine.

Loveabaconsandwich · 04/05/2018 22:12

We recently got a 2 by 6 kallax in DD1s room. We love it. But, we bought a cupboard, the drawers and two baskets for it and I think they were more than the shelves. So the extras are spendy.

But we will be buying some for DD2s room once we’ve decorated/recarpeted

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 04/05/2018 22:34

Oh seacow am sorry to hear that, I really hope they can find him a private room soon, can you stay at your mums this wend? I know it's tricky with your ds though.

I have one of those ikea storage units, they're good and hold loads of stuff.

I have agreed to buy some planters that hang over the fence, three for £9 ( I have gone so far over my garden budget this month and we're only 4 days in!!)

mammynowanauntyIRL · 04/05/2018 23:26

Lonely maybe you could paint with oak effect paint? Hmm
Spends today €10 on supper out - beautiful warm goats cheese salad, starter portion €9 main portion is €15 and comes with a beautiful bread basket but I desisted and resisted Grin unplanned but was alone with 30 mins to spare on way from work to a voluntary thing I do.

.....The sun has got is at on ...the sun has got its hat on ...la la la ...the sun has got its hat on.........

Fluffycloudland77 · 05/05/2018 07:34

sea can any nursing homes take him for eol? It’s shit that he’s so ill in hospital when he could be in a quiet room in a care home. The ones I visit do eol if they have a room.

I have tonsillitis but due to allergies couldn’t find painkillers. I’m spitting my saliva into a towel and can’t talk. My fever broke overnight and Dh has already been to get me a paracetamol I can take. He says it’s everymans dream, fit wife who can’t talk. Dh is feeling brave. It’s agony and I’ve been told I have a high pain threshold.

We’re going to bath tomorrow. Non refundable room so we are going if I have to drag myself to the car.

WreckTangled · 05/05/2018 08:04

Oh no fluffy! Bath will be gorgeous this weekend though!

SunnyLikeThursday · 05/05/2018 08:06

Fluffy Can you take paracetamol suppositories? I can't take pills as I have a dodgy stomach, but I have some of those as an emergency stash just in case knowing full well that if the moment ever comes I'll be too scared to use them in case I react weirdly to them too.

Christmas I'm so sorry to hear things are hard there. Take care. Thank you for explaining what it's all like. I know it will come to us all in time and it's very helpful to know how you are handling it when you have so much experience. FlowersBrew

It's ds's 8th birthday today and I went to tesco this morning as I'd run out of food. My lovely GP says that ds and I need a bit of independence from each other, so I honestly a quite grown up human being have branched out and gone shopping alone on his birthday. It was ok and a nice man helped me to find my car in the car park. #HonestlyIAmACompetentHumanBeing

ememem84 · 05/05/2018 08:07

The sun is shining here. Hooray!!

Riding this morning while dh takes ds to the boat show with his (dh’s) friend. It gets me out of going with them.

LonelyOversharer · 05/05/2018 08:19

Morning everyone. We have some misty stuff here which needs to go away sharpish! It smells sunny outside, just isn't yet.

fluffy thats awful, I though you'd been quiet (bad pun). Do you need antibiotics for tonsilitis though? I'd nip to ooh while it's early and quiet, with a long list in red pen of all the nasty additives you can't take.

Coffee then laundry then garden for me today. Probably a tip run at some point too. I'm currently stupidly excited at three days of pottering about in the sun ignoring my work this week as they are ones I don't like

Happy Birthday to your ds sunny hope he likes being 8.

lifelongfrugaleer · 05/05/2018 08:38

Sun shine here too.
Footy/ballet/shopping this morning although I have just got up.
Ds'&dh of to see the marvel film this afternoon. Dd and I will find something to do.
Tomorrow footy and dance mock.
Monday day out somewhere pic nicy

lifelongfrugaleer · 05/05/2018 08:38

Happy birthday sunny ds

Fluffycloudland77 · 05/05/2018 08:41

It feels viral lonely. I feel loads better now I’m not in pain.

sunny that’s totally the ideal solution but the ones I saw yesterday were nearly £20. I would’ve put a painkiller anywhere this morning. Anywhere. Happy birthday to your ds 🎂.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 05/05/2018 08:46

Happy Birthday to sunnyds
My dd turned 8 a couple of weeks ago and I swear she went from being a baby girl to a 8 year old with personality and opinion and style overnight, think this is due to being at Relax Kids for quite a while now too. The three of us watched a movie together last night I dozed on couch cuddled up to ds, I'm not sure they noticed and I marvelled at her. She was telling me a comhra (conversation in Irish) where the shopkeeper tells you a crazy price for the items you want, and you say alarmed 'That's too dear, Keep It' and storm off with a curt 'Bye'!

I'm checking in from work at the moment, don't usually work Saturdays, think I'll get it as time in lieu if cfo is obliging!

I always seem to pack more into the Saturdays I work, I've showered, blowdried and straightened my hairat work ssh put out a wash, eaten a lovely breakfast of poached egg, turkey sausages and avocado on wholemeal toast and it's only 9.40 Grin

lonely what you've done with your back garden is incredible, we've a lot more space, live in the country, not a stealth boast just fact, and we've not done as much with it. We've a front lawn, then a bigger side lawn which has washing line and hen coop along one side, rest of it left free for football/games etc then a set of swings/slide/seesaw at the end of it and beyond that 'the field' aka veg garden, a stepping stone pathway meanders it's way down through the lawn.

fluffy glad to hear your dh is looking after you well and hope you get sorted with some pain relief. When I had this after Christmas gp prescribed Keral, it's a sachet that you gargle and swallow for pain relief and must contain ibuprofen as you can't take nurofen with it. I have it in my bag so this is the ingredients list for you desketoprofen 25mg, ammomium glycyrrhizinate, neohesperidin-dihydrochalcone, quinline yellow(E104) lemon aroma, sucrose(2.4-2.44g with colloidal silica, colloidal hydrated.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 05/05/2018 09:19

My bank rang me during the week to do a balance transfer from my credit card to theirs, I told her that I'd applied previously and been refused so she said she'd process it again. It's six months interest free so definitely worth a shot. I'll transfer the one that has highest rate of interest but a balance of €1000 so can be cleared in six months. Fingers crossed

ChristmasSeacow · 05/05/2018 09:20

Lonely we have loads of Kallax units. They’re pretty good for the price and hold tonnes of stuff. Great for clothes, yarn stash, kids’ toys etc. I currently have the travel cot set up in my bedroom (put up when the new front door was put in so dd could nap away from the noise) and it’s now almost full of ‘stuff’ that I haven’t put away. DH is Hmm

Happy birthday SunnyDS

Hope you feel better soon Fluffy. Bath is gorgeous, keep shoving those painkillers anywhere you can, it will be worth it Wink. Dad has a place in a nursing home and I think they do EOL but... he keeps having falls and they’re not sure why so are concerned about him going back there. I might find out more today, visiting hours are this afternoon.

It’s already bright and lovely here. I want to get out in the garden as much as possible, just need to stop DS and DD eating things they shouldn’t...

mammynowanauntyIRL · 05/05/2018 09:28

Solved my beautybay order for free delivery, bought dds Equave Detangling Spray as we've run out and I'm not out of moisturiser yet Smile
seacow dd's travel cot had two layers, one that she slept in and the rest housed her wardrobe for absolute months when she was a baby!

WreckTangled · 05/05/2018 09:36

Happy birthday to your ds sunny.

I've been to Tesco, Aldi and Sainsbury's this morning.

lifelongfrugaleer · 05/05/2018 09:40

Sea, I'm sure you know this but see if they will relax visiting for you given your travel and needs with DS
.

I need a proper meal plan, we are not eating well and I've thrown loads out this morning. Of to pursue books and magazines

SnugglySnerd · 05/05/2018 09:44

So sorry seacow. I hope you can find a side room for some quiet and privacy.

Fluffy tonsillitis is grim. Get well soon. Eat crisps. The salt is soothing. Also gargle with soluble aspirin then spit it out.

Lovely day here. Just did top up shop in Aldi. Got a but carried away buying asparagus. I love asparagus and it's only here for about a month so I will be guzzling it for a few weeks!

Wolfcub · 05/05/2018 10:14

Happy birthday Sunny’d ds
Sea I hope your visit is ok today
Fluffy can you gargle with tcp? Hope you feel better soon and can enjoy your time in Bath

13.60 in Sainsbury’s in milk, wine and weed killer. 50p at the garage to pump up tires.

Washing on, weeds round the road side of the house and beighbour’s sprayed.

Need to pick ds up from a party and take him into the city for contact in a bit. Haven’t decided what I will do whilst he’s at contact it really is too far to come home for the time they are allowed but expensive to stay around the city

Fluffycloudland77 · 05/05/2018 10:20

Is there a park nearby wolf? There usually free parking.

SunnyLikeThursday · 05/05/2018 11:21

Fluffy Yes they do cost a bit. I bought some anyway just in case because I know that when the moment comes the last thing I will want to do is drive to boots. I used to use baby ones with ds and they are brilliant. Glad you're feeling a bit better.

Taytocrisps · 05/05/2018 11:53

Morning. I slept until 9.30 this morning which isn't like me at all. I'm normally awake at 7 even if I don't have to get up for work. Operation Laundry is underway and will be closely followed by Operation Shave Legs so I can wear some of my cropped trousers over the next few days. I need to pick up another of those mini airer things for hanging socks and knickers. Should be a frugal day of sunshine and laundry. We're having ham and dauphinoise potatoes and a carrot/turnip mash. Unless we ditch it in favour of a barbecue. I'll be back for a proper catch up in a bit.
