Welcome returnees and newbies ☺

I'm at work having a quick coffee break, don't normally drink coffee but was feeling so tired this morning I thought this might perk me up!

Spent £38 on petrol and a latte!

Wolfcub · 04/05/2018 12:14

A bluebell wood sounds lovely Lonely. Half days work done (slightly under but I’ve done my hours for the week). Dishwasher on and ds’s bed stripped, mattesss turned and bedding in the wash. It’s not fine enough to dry outside today though. Bathroom cleaned before I get my nails done later😁.
I’m trying to resist going to buy some mirrors and pictures to replace all the family photos on the wall it’s killing me seeing them all the time but I’d need a huge mirror and at least one A3 size frame able picture to start with.
Started drafting a separation agreement as a first go at dividing stuff up. Need to get some estate agents around to value the house as we are in negative equity

lifelongfrugaleer · 04/05/2018 13:36

It's lovely here. My first thought was hope mil had hung my washing out.
£3.74 Tesco all shrapnel in the ss till.

Take them down on the premise to decorate for selling wolf? That might be too much for DS though.

lifelongfrugaleer · 04/05/2018 13:37

Oh sea, it's such a roller coaster for you. Take care.

LonelyOversharer · 04/05/2018 16:24

wolf thats so hard for you. My dsis has put up a lot of baby pics of her boys now, rather than the family shots from before. I'm still working on putting any pictures up here.

Went out, have got another kiwiberry, a strawberry (3 little plants in a big pot),and a fig plus the compost - £26 in the range. £16 tescos on lunch and bits, but dp gave me £20 for this.

I have had to order my "azada" (half a pick axe digging thing), plus a usb stick for dd2 £37 from amazon, will transfer this to my credit card, thus technically not spending on it. Waiting until wednesday for delivery, then the back garden has had it!

Pulled pork for tea, with rice and corn tortillas. It's smelling great.

SunnyLikeThursday · 04/05/2018 16:57

We have some frames from Argos that I bought years ago, and when I got them home I never actually put any pictures in them so they still have the stock flower photos that they came with. All three of them the same. I like the flowers though, so I just keep them.

Wolfcub · 04/05/2018 18:53

Cake made so ds feels he has a snack to hand (I’ve never known a hungrier kid). We had one day out of date tortellini for tea (h would have chucked this in the bin if he’d seen it). Nails were £26 but I avoided the naice house things shop and have not bought any pictures or mirrors. I’m feeling a freezer challenge coming on as I can’t get anything else in the bugger.

Unescorted how was the willy waving?

Life I love washing on the line. Hoping to get a load of two outside tomorrow

WreckTangled · 04/05/2018 18:57

Nsd. WreckCat bought a vole in, luckily it was dead. Yeah

WreckTangled · 04/05/2018 18:57

Don't know where that 'yeah' came from Blush

ChristmasSeacow · 04/05/2018 19:08

Dad is too ill to go back to the nursing home (he was there for a grand total of 2 weeks, minus a couple of hospital stays Sad). The hospice and cancer ward are still full so he’s on a bay in a noisy short-stay hospital ward. I am quite upset about that - as a hospital manager I moved heaven and earth to make sure dying patients were in a side room for the privacy of the patient and family. Or at least in a quiet corner. The consultant has said his time is very short now so I’ll go tomorrow and possibly every day over the BH. I’ll have a better idea after I see him tomorrow.

It seems incredible that less than 2 months ago I didn’t even know he was ill. Make the most of time with your loved ones xxx

WreckTangled · 04/05/2018 19:13

So sorry seacow Thanks

Wolfcub · 04/05/2018 19:25

Oh Sea I’m so sorry x

ememem84 · 04/05/2018 19:36

Oh sea there are no words really. I’m thinking of you and wishing you all peace and kindness xx

LonelyOversharer · 04/05/2018 19:37

seacow that is awful, I'm so sorry. I really hope they can move him somewhere quieter very very soon.

You've only touched on what you did pre dc, but I bet you were bloody amazing at your job. You have so much empathy. Sending love x

ememem84 · 04/05/2018 19:37

Ds had his first day with dparents today. All three exhausted!

£16 coop on veg and a much needed first week back at work bottle of wine. Dh is doing roast chicken and chips for dinner. Mmmmm.

Loveabaconsandwich · 04/05/2018 20:10

Flowers seacow My thoughts are with you and your lovely dad 💔

WreckTangled · 04/05/2018 20:15

We're going out for breakfast tomorrow for bil's birthday so his choice. He's chosen a place which is great for lunch and dinner but their breakfast has about five options none of which I really like and none of which are suitable for the dc. I really don't want to pay £2 each for a couple of slices of toast it's such a waste! It's at 10am though so wonder if I would get away with just having a coffee...

Unescorted · 04/05/2018 20:33

sea I'm thinking of you and your dad and mum. Hospitals are so crowded now. I am trying my very best to bend our funding rules to get more move on accommodation built. It is so difficult because legislation comes from 2 sides or more. His legacy will be that efforts were redoubled so no one else has to go through not having a quiet space.
Laska yes it was him. An interesting day .... All the interoffice travellers had to pretend to be pleased that the Manchester office was not going to be closed. We knew that one of the NW ones was going. They had all assumed it was Man because they had all drifted to Warrington. Guess the travel plan they were putting together for me is not going to be needed.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes.... I will save them all for Sunday. They are all sat next to the ones I got for the false birthday date on my Facebook profile. I have more birthdays than the queen.

Wolf I have visions of a deli counter ticket machine. They get called forward to take a look.

Unescorted · 04/05/2018 20:41

lonely I am borrowing an azada from my brother.... Dh was asking about a wisteria that hadn't been planted out. He had a doh! Moment when he realised it needed the nice warm sheltered patch just where the wall needs to be built ( I have been waiting 3 years for this ... I tried but my wall building skills are really rubbish)

I am getting a garden... slowly.

lifelongfrugaleer · 04/05/2018 20:59

Oh sea it's so hard.I hope now he doesn't suffer and his pain can be managed

LonelyOversharer · 04/05/2018 21:05

I got ok with wall building through being a) skint b) bloody minded and c) terrified of outsourcing help. I do it with bare hands (no trowel), and would make a brickie wince and/or die laughing.

Does anyone have Ikea Kallax storage? My bedroom is in crisis. I would post a pic, but it's far too embarrassing. The piles of hoard are actually higher than the bed. Enough. I can fit a 3x4 hole cube in easily, into which I could hide a lot of my assorted crap with no homes in. It's really cheap. Is it really cheap or just ikea being practical and ok? (I have a lot of ikea furniture already)

It will clash hideously with the forever oak sleigh bed, but I think I'm waaaay past mismatching furniture.

lifelongfrugaleer · 04/05/2018 21:23

I have the kallax in dd room in white. Holds no end of shite in the boxes. Don't they do Oak effect too though.

lifelongfrugaleer · 04/05/2018 21:24

Sorry didn't answer your question we have 2 of the 2x2 cube. We have 6 boxes. It's good quality and I would get more

LonelyOversharer · 04/05/2018 21:35

Thanks life no end of shite in boxes sums it up here. Except it's not in boxes atm. Was thinking white, as it's cheapest, and could roam around the house if I ever sort out properly unlikely

Trip to ikea calling...

Unescorted · 04/05/2018 21:50

There are you tube videos to give you cheap ideas to personalise IKEA furniture. I would say "hack" but that makes my teeth itch.
