sea that must be hard. Your DS sounds as he is right character in a good way. Your love for him shines through your posts.

Mammy your ex is a total bellend.

Cag good to see we haven't lost you.

Lonely one day I will be at pottering stage in the garden. At the moment it is still a work in progress. I would have thought your soil was acidic enough....it is down our end. The only thing growing enthusiastically here are the currents gooseberry and blueberries. We have loads of bilberries growing in the hedges and on the hills too.

Wolfcub · 03/05/2018 19:06

Ah Sea I’m so sorry to hear about your dad it sounds very hard on you all. It sounds like ds did great although I do know how hard it can be when they tell you to go away Flowers
Girlfriend that’s a beautiful plant.

LonelyOversharer · 03/05/2018 20:16

unescorted my garden is a bomb site! But now I have a plan it seems doable. Just my big greenhouse is tidy, all my growing on plants in neat lines. The other greenhouse is full of crap, and unusable this year.

The only green in the photo is my lovely willow hedge and arch, the green in my fruit cage (adjoining the shed- which is waiting on a proper tin roof) and sodding ground elder. The test arch shows where the polytunnel is going (right to the shed at the top). The photo is only outing to my ndn who is lovely

That is a big project. I have no excuse. If can do that then mine is achievable.

Wolfcub · 03/05/2018 20:38

Oh wow Lonely that’s a lot of space I think I could get 15 to 20 of my gardens in yours.

SnugglySnerd · 03/05/2018 21:02

Well I'm not doing much better at keeping up on the thread am I? Sorry I'm just super busy at the moment.

£14 on takeaway tonight. Got the supermarket shop under £60 (just) this week.

I need to get back in the habit of sharing spends on here. It helps me to rein it in!

CremeEggThief · 03/05/2018 21:16

Sorry, Seacow.

Spends: £38.30 Primark (replacing tops, vests and underwear for both of us) and £18.88 H&M (summer cardigan and a dress in the sale for me and summer socks for DS), on my credit card. Cash spends:
£4.05 bunch in Wetherspoons.
£7 bus travel.
£2.52 cream tea in Sainsburys café.
£3.95 groceries in Sainsburys.
£2.19 Screwfix.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 03/05/2018 21:43

Sorry Seacow are you going to go up this wend again?

Wow Lonely what an amazing space, my mind fries trying to work out what I would do with it though!

Dd produced a letter at bedtime telling me that I need to book more tickets for a show she is in in May!! Another flipping £15, did i mention that I realised this morning that she has somehow lost two school jumpers Hmm kids!!!!! This is why saving money is so hard.

lifelongfrugaleer · 03/05/2018 21:49

Sorry to hear that sea. X

SunnyLikeThursday · 03/05/2018 23:34

My dh has given me a night pass to go to an orchestra concert in May. I'm quite excited about that. It will be the first time that I've been out in the evening since I checked into the maternity hospital for ds's delivery 8 years ago. I slightly can't feel my head now.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 04/05/2018 04:18

Lonely this using hot cloth cleanser and moisturiser is a big commitment/upgrade for me from just washing my face prior to this! But it's something I'd like to continue with. We've no Superdrug and I'm loathe to pay postage on what are essentially very cheap products. There's one in a city I pass by travelling to my parents but I normally travel late fri eve and can't be arsed when returning on a Sunday!

Girlie that plant is beautiful, I'm not into gardening at all, but if you passed my house you wouldn't know that as au pair enjoys it! I did one garden area when we moved in with shrubs and covered area with plastic to prevent weeds and lovely pink chippings on top. This area was damaged when building front wall. I also plant sunflowers each year with dc. Might do that this weekend.

Christmas sorry to hear about your dads declining health, it's been very rapid. How's your Nan? Mine is 91 and was diagnosed with cancer last month while won't be treated, I'm going to visit her this weekend. She's unaware of it though.

Em lunch looks amazing Smile

Unescorted · 04/05/2018 06:18

Wish me luck and strength. We have our cex dropping into the office today. He is lovely and we get on but all of the hem touchers (all male brayers) will turn up and wave their willies. I had hoped for a quiet day with birthday cake for my usual office dwellers. I will bring it in on Tuesday instead.

I had my oncology unit call yesterday - with it being unclear what is going on when I go back in 3 months I am being treated to an all consultant and student have a look and diagnose session. I have a mental image of them forming an orderly queue and if the whole department has to grind to a halt they won't want to deviate from the planned timetable. Hopefully I will be that person who everyone glares at as I get to skip the waiting.

Wolfcub · 04/05/2018 06:32

Unescorted is it your birthday today? Happy birthday if so. Good luck today, I can picture exactly the thing you mean, unfortunately it’s not just the men in my department I work in a team with a lot of that type. Those of us who aren’t like that often find it a difficult place to be.
I picture your appointment as lecture theatre style with you at the front with the consultant but I watch way too many American medical dramas
£5 last night in Tescos. Need to go an use my new bank card in a machine today and I miss-input the PIN number twice last night and it will lock if I don’t get it right.

Nails later £25 as they need soaking. Currently refusing to give this up but in straightened financial circumstances in the future it’s likely to have to go.

lifelongfrugaleer · 04/05/2018 06:49

Good luck unescorted and happy birthday

CremeEggThief · 04/05/2018 07:01

Laska5772 · 04/05/2018 07:10

Ive dropped off the thread! Busy few days ..

Happy birthday Un. Our Nick? .. there will be willie waving indeed then!

perhaps he is bringing you a cake..

ChristmasSeacow · 04/05/2018 07:56

Happy birthday Unescorted. I remember you were having tests for possible cancer but weren’t you given the all clear? I am sure it will be a delightful experience being a teaching specimen anyway HmmSmile

Lonely you’ve got a huge project there!

Dad’s brain scans were okay so after a night in hospital he should be going back to the nursing home today. I’m visiting tomorrow.
Granny isn’t doing too well (thanks for asking Mammy). She’s stopped eating though they have got her pain meds right so that’s good.

It’s meant to be warm here today so I’m hoping to meet a friend and take the babies to the ‘village’ green. Maybe get a picnic lunch. LSD I hope

ChristmasSeacow · 04/05/2018 07:57

I meant to say : Sunny that’s long overdue by the sounds of it!

WreckTangled · 04/05/2018 08:22

Morning! Day off today 🙌🏼🙌🏼

Happy birthday unescorted 🎂

Seacow Such a hard time for you and your mum (and everyone else). I think it's quite common for people to deteriorate quickly once they have the diagnosis Sad

The DC's bus driver said she's going to take them 'the bluebell way' to school this morning. So lovely of her, they love going that way.

I'm off to a friends for lunch and gossiping. WreckCat is out of food but hoping dh will get some!

SnugglySnerd · 04/05/2018 10:02

Happy birthday Unescorted!

Sorry things are so tough Seacow.

Long weekend with good weather forecast. I'm a bit too excited about all the washing I will be able to dry on the line!

WreckTangled · 04/05/2018 10:06

Snuggly I'm excited to wash my voiles! (We have giant windows facing the road so unfortunately they're a necessity)

MrsOH2004 · 04/05/2018 10:12

Hi everyone, I dropped off the last thread as things got a bit busy, need to desperately budget more now DH is monthly pay.

Have switched some Direct debits to new account but not all so I need to go into the bank to sort that out.

Ds 2 (12) asked if he could have some playstation points at £8 and for some reason they took 5 lots so was not happy, told him he can buy the gift cards from now on as it's happened before.

£11 spent in Co-Op today.

Off to catch up with the thread.

LonelyOversharer · 04/05/2018 10:21

Have a happy day unescorted Cake

Yes to a sunny bank holiday! Can't wait. Laundry going on the line as soon as I've eaten my toast. Also off to buy a kind of half pick axe digger thing (I know what it looks like, just not it's name) to turn the soil over more easily. I'm a bit nervous swinging the proper pick axe, as I usually have dogs and sometimes dc close by. When I moved in, my garden was just grass, but I neglected it and nettles took over. Then the dogs...basically I looked the other way for the time we had the shop. So now have a blank canvas. Plus I'm really not very good at finishing off jobs.

The bluebells aren't quite out up here yet! I had loads in my old garden, so when I knew I was moving I dug them all up and gave them to my mum. She has a mini bluebell wood in her (utterly beautiful) garden now.

RosieposiePuddingandPi · 04/05/2018 10:34

I think I've just about caught up with the thread now Grin
So far so good, NSD every day this week which is making me feel a bit more in control of things. DH still hasn't heard anything more about redundancy which is good and he's had a couple of very promising interviews so he's hoping now to be offered something new (thankfully he works in a v emerging field so decent opportunities) and then ask for voluntary redundancy.
I'm having a quiet day in the office, might go for a walk round site in the sun later.

Happy birthday Unescorted! The description of your office made me chuckle. We get that a lot when management visits but the female equivalent (what do women wave??)

I'm v envious of everyone's lovely gardens, especially yours Lonely, what fab project! Ours is a total jungle which is driving me mad as DS needs a good run around after nursery in the evening and I'd love to just chuck him out in the garden for a bit.

Em I'm in awe of your stylish work outfits when you've just gone back. My mat leave finished in Jan and thank god I have the option of wearing uniform! I barely manage to look awake in the mornings, let alone make an outfit up!
