wolf that sucks. The electronic barriers are in place on all the platforms except 10- to 14. So if you are going to the small number platforms don't bother going to the main concourse... Turn right as soon as you can after you run up the stairs and drop on to the far end of your platform. There is a departures board hanging from a beam that past the ticket machine. 8 minutes is plenty of time just make sure you push to the door when you leave Oxford Rd... My best time 13 to 2 is 72 seconds. That hurt and it was dress down Friday.

I have had an unexpectedly expensive day.... The trains from Kendal to Oxenholme were cancelled so I had to get a taxi. I can claim it back but still..... I gave a lift to the blind person and the couple with a small kid be/c they didn't have enough money for the taxi and the could so walk up the road for 40 minutes with no footpath. Northern Fail pull it out of the bag again.
