Sounds healthy Em. It's nice that you miss him. Hope it's going well there.

I dropped my ds at a Jazz dancing class yesterday and sat outside shaking in my shoes for a full half hour Shock. I haven't done that before with anything except school and Beavers, in which I stay with him. He is nearly 8 years old. So you're ahead of me by some distance. LOL!

mammynowanauntyIRL · 01/05/2018 12:57

It's natural to miss him em you've been with him practically 24 hours a day for 7 months Flowers

sunny well done to you too, did he enjoy the class?

Yeah it's lunchtime I'm bored and hungry

SunnyLikeThursday · 01/05/2018 13:16

Thanks Mammy yes it was good. Well he said it was anyway. I didn't see. He was all floppy and relaxed when he came out and climbed up on my lap like a bushbaby, which he wouldn't normally do in front of people, so I take that to mean that he felt at home with them. I'm trying to find a choir for him too, and a neighbour is going to give him piano lessons, so hopefully that will be a lot of fun stuff to do. He says he wants more fun.

RosieposiePuddingandPi · 01/05/2018 14:19

Hi everyone, can I join you?
I posted a couple of times last year while on mat leave and then just lurked for a while but we're facing DH being made redundant and are tightening belts all round so I thought I'd pop back in.

MeadowHay · 01/05/2018 14:22

Em Hope your day is going well. I felt weird enough going back to work after being on sick leave for like 10 weeks nevermind off on mat leave for so long! I am sure you will be fine and everything will be fine Flowers

I am off sick today. Keep having awful nights sleep due to anxiety about baby and giving birth and then nightmares all night about giving birth and things. How can I even have nightmares about giving birth when I've never even given birth before so don't actually have a memory to associate it to?! So then I woke up exhausted and puking. Exhaustion triggers the pregnancy sickness so yeah, no work for me today, which means no pay for me today. I get anxious in case it continues again tomorrow etc as my work is our only income and we are in a very precarious position financially right now. On the plus side at least that means today is definitely another NSD Hmm...

UsedToLoveMorrissey · 01/05/2018 14:54

em I hope your day goes well. I missed my DS when I went back to work, but it does get easier.

meadow anxiety is a bitch and can lead to more anxiety. I had some thereapy and the breathing exercises worked well.

Breathe in through your nose for 4 counts, breathe out slowly through your mouth for for counts. Repeat for as long as needed, and focus on counting. And it's. A breathe through your belly, so belly goes in and put, not chest up and down. Not trying to teach you what you probably already know, but it is work for me and I still do it when the anxiety rears its basterding head every now and then.

Toda is a lazy lazy day as I an hungover. DH brought a bottle of wine home last night as it was his pay day and I drank on an empty stomach. Been ill most of the morning, totally not in line with how much I drunk. So no spend as ive not left the house.

WreckTangled · 01/05/2018 15:02

Oh no usedto Grin I cant drink at all. You need a pot noodle that'll sort you out Grin

ememem84 · 01/05/2018 15:35

usedto or a McDonald’s. That’ll fix you. Fries double cheese bacon burger and a coke. Icy cold coke.

Hour and half until I can get my baby!!!! Haha!

UsedToLoveMorrissey · 01/05/2018 15:37

Grin a pot noodle! I can't eat the because of my coeliac but yes, I loved them on days like this. Beef was was go to pot. I'm thinking I shouldn't drink either now, ppffft! I'm too old for hangovers

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 01/05/2018 15:44

Meadow have you checked if you will be entitled to some tax credit help once the baby is born? It might be worth investigating now as once the baby turns up you will be pre occupied!! Sorry to hear you are struggling so much with anxiety, i have been there and have the t.shirt and its really not fun. Is your G.P supportive?

Hope your first day back goes well Em I remember my first day back after mat leave and having this weird sense of missing something constantly! That said after a week or so it becomes your new normal and I actually enjoyed being 'me' again for a few hours!

Have had a nice day off here, met a friend for coffee this morning and popped into Morrisons spent £26 (I think) mostly on summer plants but also house hold bits that were needed. Came home and spent a nice couple of hours in the garden potting up my pots which now look lovely.

Have just spent £23 on Amazon on some bug killer for the garden and a couple of other bits, I am finding it increasingly hard to get the quantity of stuff right on Amazon to get the free delivery Hmm annoying as loads of stuff doesn't qualify.

Does anyone know of the old tenners can be exchanged in a bank now? Dd has one I didn't know about.

Wish Need was here Sad I went for a little run this morning and miss her cheering me on.

Fluffycloudland77 · 01/05/2018 15:47

I don’t think Need is coming back. She’s been gone since mid March.

£70 on three weeks shopping but technically dhs turn so I’ll withdraw it from the joint when his wages go in.

So a NSD really.

Wolfcub · 01/05/2018 16:07

90p on a cup of tea as I forgot I arranged a meeting in the canteen. Will also have to spend £19 on parking but I can reclaim that. I packed mini soreen apple and a biscuit but I’ve been up since 4.30 and am a big t peckish. I still have some mini cheddars in my bag to last me until 20.30 ish.

WreckTangled · 01/05/2018 16:24

Nsd here.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 01/05/2018 16:30

fluffy I hope she's ok, I really loved her posts and her company. Waves if she read this.

Well done on your run girlie it's becoming a regular kind of thing for you now, keep it up Grin I realised completely at the weekend that I actually hate walking now, other than with company, whereas I love to run with or without company.

life I'm having a real f*ck it kind of a day. I'm currently drinking a can of coke (freebie from Topaz Park & Play reward card) and debating a takeway/treat supper for dd and I when I collect her from her activity. I don't even like coke. I'm still smothered with headcold, tastebuds aren't great. Day so far is completely fine regarding macros and calories.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 01/05/2018 16:32

wolf you are amazing me with your strength, new job, budgeting, frugaleering, managing to keep all balls in the air while life has changed so much for you at home

LonelyOversharer · 01/05/2018 16:36

wolf you sound like my dd1, she has a bit of cake and a packet of mini cheddars to last her all day too. I'll look stern and tell you thats not enough to keep you going all day too. Dd1 rolls her eyes at me when I fuss.

em is that day 1 done and out of the way? Enjoy your boy tonight.

I went food shopping. My mindset has changed. It really isn't as fun as it used to be. £85 in lidl and £53 in aldi. But about £20 of that was wellies/socks/cake storage. Aldi has some seriously cute baby weaning type stuff in (which I didn't buy!). Meal planned for 11 days around what I bought.

And I totted up last months reciepts. All in, supermarkets, chicken food, dogs, all top ups etc (like eat well for less) we spent about £450. For a family of 6, with shit loads of pets, I don't think thats too bad at all. I used to spend well over a grand a month, hence the overspend and credit card debt. I feel stupid about it now, it's not rocket science...and now I have to underspend to pay the bloody debt off.

LonelyOversharer · 01/05/2018 16:39

I miss her too. @needsastrongone I do hope you are ok x

WreckTangled · 01/05/2018 16:54

Eugh. Does anyone else struggle with removing that gross tendon bit from chicken breasts? I feel like I've wasted half the chicken trying to get rid of it. It's enough to make me become veggie! 🤮

lifelongfrugaleer · 01/05/2018 17:07

Yes I hate that bit wreck.

I'm ok macros wide but still have 444 call to eat although I have to input my milk. Steps are shite today only 6200.
All spends can be claimed back. On the train, it's hot, full and I'm riding backwards and the girl next to me is picking her gellish off FFS. Can't work so will log on tonight.

Yeah em, you aced your first day.

Welcome back Rosie.

I suspect need has gone for good too, shame

Wolfcub · 01/05/2018 17:27

Having a nightmare journey home. East coast mainline is fucked royally so having to go up the west coast and then across. It’s rocked me totally even though if all goes to plan I’ll only (ha ha) be two hours late home but two hours late as a single parent is a lot different to two hours as a couple Sad

WreckTangled · 01/05/2018 17:34

Oh wolf Sad that must be really stressful for you. Shitty trains.

lifelongfrugaleer · 01/05/2018 17:36

Oh is that due to the over running works this morning, bollocks I'm changing at york to go north

Wolfcub · 01/05/2018 17:37

Life it’s overhead line failure at Finsbury Park so you should be ok

lifelongfrugaleer · 01/05/2018 17:39

If it's any consolation in on trans Pennine from Manchester and they are spot on time

Wolfcub · 01/05/2018 17:43

Thank goodness for that. If this runs on time I’ll have 8 mins to sprint from platform 13 Confused
