Good luck tomorrow Life

We tried growing fruit and Veg a few times we were never particularly successful so it wasn’t a frugal undertaking

WreckTangled · 22/04/2018 19:46

Nsd. Went to a friends for a bbq to make the most of the last nice day for a while.

Unescorted · 22/04/2018 20:00

mammy fab cake.
Life good luck tomorrow....not that you need any.

All this talk of gardens... My mil gets me a subscription to GW magazine which is daunting. All the gardens are so perfect. I was looking at designs for potager gardens on the tinterweb. I love the grow your own ethos but really cannot be faffed having an allotment.....

Laska5772 · 22/04/2018 20:12

We've been out in garden again , but strange day here after last nights massive storm..
It started off bright and sunny and warm then sea fog rolled in , got quite chilly for while..

MD does have lovely gardens ,but there's something I dont like about about him. I'm sure I read something about him a few years ago

Laska5772 · 22/04/2018 20:14

I bought 4 bags of Salisbury frozen blueberries and strawberries , I think you are supposed to make smoothies with them ,but I eat them frozen , ( and am addicted to them like that ) . Those 4 bags will last me a week if I am lucky (but its better than choc)

No it wasnt! there's more? ..it was about how he (admitted he) treated his wife when his business went belly up..

Wolfcub · 22/04/2018 20:29

I’m sure I read it about him years ago but I’ve just looked and I can’t find a trace online so perhaps I have done him a disservice

Unescorted · 22/04/2018 20:30

I had no idea... although I find him a bit faux. If he was starting out now he would be a cheesy Instagram lifestyle blogger.

Laska5772 · 22/04/2018 20:31

I cant find anything about his wife either except nice things .. he does have MH issues.. I know .. so perhaps I am also being unfair..

Laska5772 · 22/04/2018 20:36

but hes is also a bit too smooth and affable to be true , I've sadly met a few of those , ( and was married to one who was a bit 'to quick to resort to his hands ) so it could just be the type I am wary of .

Also posh, so it could just be that which irritates me ..being a right Proletariat myself !

QuiteCleanBandit · 22/04/2018 20:38

Blood diamonds ?
He used to own a costume jewelry company and lost everything when it went bust.
He also has described an almost life long battle with depression and SAD .
I dont get the feeling he really likes being in front of the camera really .
He has always been my favorite GW presenter.
Alan Titchmarsh on the other hand ...

Wolfcub · 22/04/2018 20:41

Quite as I said I could very well be wrong especially given I can’t find anything online to back up my memory of the scandal

Laska5772 · 22/04/2018 20:46

My fault for starting this.. I do realise hes now a bit of an British institution, ( and yes, his Islamic gardens programme was excellent)..

I'll reserve judgement .. ill never meet him so my spidery senses dont matter

mammynowanauntyIRL · 22/04/2018 20:47

Checking in but my eyes are closing with tiredness so I'm not going to catch up today.

Spends €250 on party, we had under 15 children instead of planned 15+ so was €50 less than budgeted for Grin

We now have 3 less hens as we've too many for amount we eat so gave my df 3 of our 8. Ds was very upset but he doesn't like change. He got a bloody nose and black eye at party from colliding with H in bouncing castle HmmShock

QuiteCleanBandit · 22/04/2018 20:53

Oh I was just asking the question as hadnt heard that before .
Its ok LaskaI wont be offended if you dislike him Wink we all have our opinions .
I would push AT off a cliff if I got the chance Grin
The way he says veg-eee-tab-balls Hmm

LonelyOversharer · 22/04/2018 20:55

I've had a soft spot for him since he had such a terrible stroke. When he was on this morning in the 90's I thought he was a bit fake (a-level revision day time telly junkie), but now he seems soft and nice.

Dp did tea (a bit grudgingly, and it would seem he wants a medal for it), roast chuck, potatoes and roast Mediterranean veg.

Ok, so I have £77 in my basket for Marshalls. 3 blueberries (properly growing plants that will crop this year), a hanging basket blackberry, a kiwi berry (I just want this), and some cheap seeds. £40 on blueberries sounds so much, but if they crop year after year... would still need about 30 punnets from them to break even. The birds won't get them now, home grown taste so amazing...floundering. A year ago I would not have batted an eye at this.

Right, must do more work. Will go until midnight. Sounds like dp is making coffee, even without a medal.

wolf if you want chickens, bantams need almost no space. You can get coops with a built in run on ebay for £100ish. Ex bats lay very well for a couple of years too, 3 of them would be more than ample, but they are a bit bold and pecky. The one in the pic is £93, 175cm long, 66cm wide.

Whats wrong with lovely Alan?

WreckTangled · 22/04/2018 21:00

Dh was meant to be paid Friday. Still not got it. Yes his boss is a wanker and you're all always saying it. Dh said if it's not in there tomorrow morning he'll go and work with his brother until his boss pays him. Ffs.

QuiteCleanBandit · 22/04/2018 21:04

Ugh hes smug,patronising and
His fake whimsy makes me want to punch him!
He goes in Room 101 with that other "National Institution" Terry Wogan .

Fluffycloudland77 · 22/04/2018 21:07

His boss is a cheeky fucker. Would he consider going into business with his db?.

Property maintenance company or something.

Laska5772 · 22/04/2018 21:10

Grin Quite , n more scathing than I was about MD I think! . but our Alan does like a good cup of Yorkshire though..

He was made High Sheriff (its an honorary thing ) here for a while a few of years ago (even though hes a 2nd homer) . wasn't a popular choice at the time , but he made a good show of it .

WreckTangled · 22/04/2018 21:13

His brother already has his own established business so although he will always sort work for him I don't think he would want him to be part of the business. Luckily dh knows so many people in the trade that he will always have work it's just at this time in our lives we need the security of him being employed (Ha. Ha.)

QuiteCleanBandit · 22/04/2018 21:18

😂😂😂 Scathing ?Moi ?
I just cant bear him .
I think MD is quite a complex character probably but I find his dont give a shit presenting style and dogs very soothing

Fluffycloudland77 · 22/04/2018 21:33

Ha bloody ha indeed.
