I never look groomed em. But I look better if I make more effort with make up and hair though —and it doesn’t rain—

I currently look amazing though Grin Where I had a bad throat I appear to have dribbled a lot, and I have two dry patches by my mouth Confused

ememem84 · 28/03/2018 09:19

I fear I may have succumbed to the lurg. I woke up at 2am couldn’t breathe and my throat was so scratchy. Now in full throws of snots and coughs. Excellent.

Must have a shower though as hair desperately needs a wash - not washed it since Friday....

The rain messed me up too love stupid hair.

laska end of May. I have no idea. I’m not asking questions. I’ll wait to be told and will deal then. I suspect what will happen is this “mums said she’s staying with us” “no” “well ok I’ll tell her she has to get a hotel” “great these have availability” “she can’t afford hotel she’ll have to stay here” “no” “fine I’ll use our savings and pay for hotel for her” “ok but no holiday for us this year” OR as I threatened to do last time “she stays in a hotel or I do” (I quite fancy two weeks in a hotel.....)

Fluffycloudland77 · 28/03/2018 09:37

You can’t beat a hotel breakfast. Amazon do keratin hair straightening kits. It’s meant to reduce frizziness.

ememem84 · 28/03/2018 10:10

I know! And if it ends up that way (which it won’t dh is far to sensible to let me walk out for 2 weeks and lounge in a hotel leaving him with mil and ds...) I know which hotel I’m staying in! Haha!

I’m wary of the kits for hair anything really. So much cheaper than the salon but if I did it wrong I’d only have myself to blame. If I got it done in the salon I could blame my hairdresser and they’d have to fix it....

ememem84 · 28/03/2018 10:11

Super hacked off here with boots. My order was meant to be in store for collection last Saturday. I’ve had zero notification. So don’t want to go there and find out it’s not there.

Have emailed customer services who have no knowledge of my order. Despite issuing me with confirmation of payment and an order number. Ffs.

SunnyLikeThursday · 28/03/2018 10:11

Em Oh dear. Inlaws can be tricky. How do you manage to get long enough clothes? That's the thing I find hardest.

I woke up all wonky in the night too. I reckon it's the very end of winter, and though the spring is tantalisingly close, we're all at rock bottom of sunshine levels. Just need to hang on a bit until the sun comes out. I hope. DH says I should do all phone calls from the greenhouse on my mobile today, and I think he may have a point.

OP posts:
Cagliostro · 28/03/2018 10:12

Oh em she’s predictable to a fault isn’t she? I know you’ll stand your ground though. Bloody woman. And bloody DH if he doesn’t stand up to her. Is he less of a moody git today?

Interesting sunny our trampolining coach was telling me how she’s cut out all artificial sweeteners and reduced sugar for her DS with ADHD. Food for thought indeed.

Not sure of plans today. I’m still in bed (4 month sleep regression doesn’t seem to have stopped yet...) and DH is playing Lego with the Caglets having done maths with them already. He’s off so hoping we can get some decluttering/tidying done later. Need to do some more on their Ireland project too :o frugal fail, DS now wants to try hurling... not sure we can afford the kit for sports club though :o

Lime ginger and chilli cod fillets for lunch, I’d ordered cheapie fish but they subbed it, win! It’s marinating in a food bag as I was organised enough to do it yesterday.

Wigwigeconomist · 28/03/2018 10:16

Sorry to hear about your mil emem hoping your DH also stands up for you

cag massively jealous of your lunch, sounds delicious!

Also Thanks for anyone suffering with the lurgy

Going to be a spendy day today- got a fine sent through the post for not paying at a toll Confused my sat bag had taken a different route to usual and there is no toll on the road, you have to do it online ...ah well, time to cough up, won't be making that mistake again!

Cagliostro · 28/03/2018 10:19

Yup laska it’s a bidding system here, on average there is one 3bed a week.

Fluffycloudland77 · 28/03/2018 10:23

[email protected] Ceo of boots email address. I got £10 for complaining their online stock checker was incorrect.

Wigwigeconomist · 28/03/2018 10:24

fluffy you give out so much useful info- thank you Star

ememem84 · 28/03/2018 10:26

Cheers fluff I’ve sent a reply to their email and will wait until later on today to see if I get a response. If not will hit twitter. And then ceo email.

It’s super annoying as it’s nappies and formula. I purposely choose Saturdays for pick ups as there is a store in the village near to the stables. So I can swing by on my way home and carry all the boxes without having to take ds with me.

I’ll need to go to town tomorrow now to get nappies formula and everything else on my list. Nothing will waste as we will use it all but it’s the fact I’ve paid for delivery for my convenience.

ememem84 · 28/03/2018 10:49

Couldn’t be bothered waiting for boots to respond so phoned local store. Orders in. Yay! Will collect tomorrow.

sunny you’re tall like me aren’t you? I essentially let dsis do the investigating and copy her! She’s 6 foot. Jeans I buy in M&S/topshop/newlook as they do different lengths. I really rate M&S super skinny mid rise jeans. The regular length is good on me - I’m 5’10. But the long sits on my ankles.

Skirts and dresses I favour warehouse and oasis. My super smart stuff is from ted baker - lovely pencil skirt suit.

And if anything may be too short (skirts) I wear with tights !

Asos.com is also good as has a tall range.

mammymammyIRL · 28/03/2018 11:14

Was very tired last night so went to bed at 9pm, put away phone at 10pm and slept until 6.20. I've been increasing my water & end up getting up to loo regularly so yesterday I got it in earlier in day and was only up once to loo.

Day going well so far, had a nice run with a friend free Smile
Bloods €25
Crusty roll with sausage & black pudding from deli plus a fulfil bar for later €6.25 on gift card. Got this gift card for doing some market research & I've had lots of lunches from it and not even half spent yet. Think I'll top it up when it's finished as my lunch out fund Smile
Collected dds cross stitch plastic from online order, saved €5 delivery charge
Got on street parking for hospital so free Smile
Got seen first at hospital, possibly skipped outpatient queue but it was h's cousin who was secretary so she just waved me through, waiting for consultant now. I was weighed and measured and pleased to see I haven't shrunk Grin

Em email ceo anyhow because you didn't get the service you'd expect , glad order is in though. I'm smiling at your conversation with dh regarding mil, I admire you.

Cag what age is ds? Wondering if I can help with hurling stuff. Love expensive subs, we had chilli and lime chicken kebabs last week rather than the beef koftas that were on 3 for €10

I'm also one who never looks groomed, so much so that when I blow dried & straightened my hair last week, a colleague thought I'd had my hair done Blush my work place is very casual, I brush my hair & wear clothes that keep me warm that's it Blush

Love please don't run before you can walk metaphorically, you were bed bound just a couple of days ago Thanks

MrsOH that sounds fabulous about house being so close to your parents

Thanks for virtual cheers everyone Grin

SunnyLikeThursday · 28/03/2018 11:55

Thanks Em That's good to know. I'm 5'10" and size 12 so almost identical shape to you. What do you do for jumpers, if you wear jumpers at all? I struggle with those. Constantly frustrated with M&S jeans shrinking in the tumble dryer too. Currently testing to see if size 16 shrinks to size 12 in the tumble dryer, as 14 goes a bit too far.

OP posts:
ememem84 · 28/03/2018 11:59

I’ve got some nice skinny knit jumpers from oasis which I layer up with a cami or a shirt underneath.

Or slouchy chunky knit ones from Dorothy Perkins/new look/oasis

Currently wearing same jeans I wore yesterday a cami and dh’s hoody.

mammymammyIRL · 28/03/2018 12:04

Like idea of shirt under skinny jumper, when I lose a bit more weight I might try that.

ememem84 · 28/03/2018 12:36

mammy denim shirt is my fave for layering.

MrsOH2004 · 28/03/2018 12:41

It's very convenient as Dd1 goes there on her way to school, Mum watches her across the road and she goes to school from there, the school is on the same road my Mum lives on Grin
Nsd so far, out for dinner tonight but we're not paying, Dh can buy the drinks, he doesn't know it yet, I'm driving so it will be a refillable coke for me.
Need to get on with meal plan and shopping list.

Loveabaconsandwich · 28/03/2018 12:53

I went out to M&S to get some food as you can park right outside. Think I wimbled around a bit like a zombie and my temp was doing weird things. Back to bed until time to pick up DD1. Trying to rest as much as possible mammy but DP had gone in late and left early on two days.

£18.64 on food

SunnyLikeThursday · 28/03/2018 13:09

Thanks Em that's useful to know. I haven't really looked in any of those places.

OP posts:
mammymammyIRL · 28/03/2018 13:13

I typically wear black trousers or blue jeans to work so denim would work well.

Oh good frugal planning regarding drinks

Love glad you're resting as much as poss. My H worked for free some of the days I was ill Angry

Parking €2 picked cheap car park, will get steps in life and €2 covers from 12.30-17.30. I had no other change so couldn't pay less.

mammymammyIRL · 28/03/2018 13:14

Btw fulfil choc orange bars are yummy just had one as my snack.
Used last bottle from multipack of the water in my boot too, it lasted a lot longer before dc knew about it Grin

MrsOH2004 · 28/03/2018 13:21

Ha mammy know what that feels like, I refill the bottles and put them in the fridge and they never last long until I look in DDs bedroom and see half full bottles of water Grin

Glad you are resting love you don't want to over do it.
