😀 mammy

Wolfcub · 11/04/2018 17:27

Mammy that’s ingenious I like it.
Em fantastic that ds has had another great settling in day
Sunny good news on the glasses, does ds like them?

Thank you all for all the support so far I’m quite honestly not sure how I’d have made it though the last 48 hours without it. This will be a long road I think. I told da earlier that daddy isn’t coming home and it’s likely we will divorce etc. He is understandably very very upset. Dh has always been his favourite parent, they are thick as thieves so this is very very hard on him and I can’t answer all his questions. I would quite like to have the opportunity to throw lots of very sharp evil objects at dh

LonelyOversharer · 11/04/2018 18:53

Sorry, been so busy, but just read back through. wolf Flowers honestly, this all sounds pretty horrific...but keep breathing. And well done for being straight up with ds. He's at an age where keeping big secrets to 'spare' them always backfires.

Flowers for you too em nursery is pretty major. Ds sounds like a little star. And like you picked a great nursery. Sounds like you have had a good day too.

I have been pretty frugal, spent about £90 on food (9 or so days worth) two days ago, used cash yesterday (dp gave me this), and today just £20 fuel, and 30 very naughty pounds in Burger King. My whopper (no pickle) was just divine though. For the one a year I get to have, it's such a treat. We went down to our bike supplier (right down into Lancashire) as we had 2 bikes to go in for repair. It's cheaper to drive them down than courier due to size. The dc (3 youngest) we had with us were excellently behaved really, for a 5hr trip.

Now I have lots of work to catch up on. Am hooked on audio books. A town like Alice was brilliant, and have moved onto Frenchmans Creek now, another all time favourite of mine. Turns out I love being read to.

ScarletPower · 11/04/2018 19:07

Money in bank: -£55.05
Money in food/petrol account: £105.69
Money in purse: £0.43
Price Guarantee voucher: 0.65p

Actual money available: £51.07 = 0.65 voucher.

Spends since last post
This is an official no spend day as nothing left my purse or my bank – I don’t get many of them.
Got my wage slip and it was just over £4 more than last month’s (big wow) thanks to the tax free allowance rise. It's not much but it's better in my pocket
Did 2 hours overtime today so that’s 5.75 in total. I don’t think they’ll be offering it for much longer as we’re really catching up – damn my speedy colleagues.

Days left to payday: 2 (including today)

Wolfcub · 11/04/2018 19:23

27.25 in Sainsbury’s this morning, mostly cleaning stuff

ememem84 · 11/04/2018 19:30

lonely I’m a fan of audiobooks. Currently listening to “Elinor Oliphant is completely fine”

Also partial to a Burger King. Mmmm.

lifelongfrugaleer · 11/04/2018 19:36

Well today was shit. Double funeral.

£39 pizza express but used my cssc taste card and got one pizza free so it was £11.25 cheaper. World have been £50 odd.
£10 pounds stretcher for painting stuff, started the stairs.
£73 Sainsbury's

New vacuum arrived, love it, new chairs and kitchen TV too.

Well done em on leaving D's. Sounds like he loves nursery.

Wolf how old is DS (sorry if you already said). He will be ok in the end. You sound like your are being very matter of fact with him which is the best your can do. No point lying as that only makes things worse imo. It's hard to guage what they can cope with sometimes though.
We are here for you still.

Laska5772 · 11/04/2018 19:51

£9.50 today a .multipack of tinned tuna and 2 packs of chicken portions..
(good proteins , back on diet) .. I keep the tuna in my work locker so I can always pick up a bag of salad and have a quick healthy lunch

Fluffycloudland77 · 11/04/2018 20:09

www.hotukdeals.com/deals/gu10-5w-warm-white-350-lumens-pack-of-20-for-13-wickes-free-cc-2909035

Really cheap led gu10 spotlights.

Wolfcub · 11/04/2018 21:12

Life that sounds like a really hard day Flowers

Fluffy I see a trip to wickes coming on.

Ds is 11. He’s just said a very sad night night daddy to a photo and my heart is broken. I’m now watching diy sos which is probably not a good move

CremeEggThief · 11/04/2018 21:20

Oh Wolf Sad.

CremeEggThief · 11/04/2018 21:21

Another NSD. Cleaned my kitchen cupboards out and made a casserole for supper. I'm definitely 40!Smile

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 11/04/2018 21:29

Quick check in, hugs to you wolf I've been parenting solo for 12 years and although it's tough at times there are also lots of positives. Pm me if you want a chat/advice. Have you checked if you would be entitled to tax credit help etc?

I'm very tired, had to work an extra day this week to make up for a days carers leave I took when dd was ill. The NHS are being arseholes about sickness/carers leave atm.

I turn the 4 0 this year so have started planning my birthday party!! I've booked a local village hall and emailed a few bands, I want a ceilidh band, they are expensive but my mum has said she will help with the cost. It will be a fab party!!!

Loveabaconsandwich · 11/04/2018 21:31

Is DH not going to be allowed to see DS because of what he’s done wolf or is DH choosing not to see him? Flowers for you, it just sounds so awful.

Today’s spends
£130 ikea
£4.50 ikea restaurant
£20.50 Primark (inc £10 gv)
£20 H&M
£26 Nando’s
£3.50 M&S

So not very frugal mammy Blush and we went off list in ikea.

Couldn’t find anything in John Lewis, but might get some curtains with our GV but hadn’t measured up.

WreckTangled · 11/04/2018 21:33

Wolf Sad

Girlie my trust still pays carers leave, it might just be the first day though I expect.

Uniglo18 · 11/04/2018 21:36

@ChristmasSeacow try fitflops as they have a built in support for high arches so you get good support.

lifelongfrugaleer · 11/04/2018 21:45

Ah wolf. Is he allowed electronic contact? Or would that make it worse. Maybe he could facetime his dad?
You are going to get through this. Flowers

Yeah totally shit day. Lovely couple they were too.

lifelongfrugaleer · 11/04/2018 21:46

Would it be bad form to knock on the door of a house you know is coming on the market and see if they will do a private sale?
House of deseased?

Wolfcub · 11/04/2018 21:57

Life I think it would be ok to write a letter in that sort of circumstance and put it through the door “so sorry for your loss, we’ve always admired x’s house. We know this must be a very difficult time, if you come to consider selling the house when resolving x’s estate we’d be interested” kind of thing

mammymammyIRL · 11/04/2018 22:02

Lifelong I don't think it would if you know it's going up for sale & it would eliminate a lot of hassle for them. Are the family known to you?

Girlie can we all come? Grin

Wolf I think your ds is old enough to see that you're sad, disappointed & upset too you don't have to put a brave face on all the time.

My cousins children are younger than him and have pointed out where they were told cover up stories during their parents break up. She has told them they told them what they thought was right at the time.
Could you throw sharp objects at a photo voodoo doll style? Obviously not the one ds said good night to. Can dh not talk to ds even if he doesn't talk to you?

Bacon sure you tried I'm sure!

€11.70 on groceries - bag of apples, a muscle food pizza (shockingly expensive, hope it's worth it) and a pack of falafels(also expensive because they're vegan) they were yummy.

Em my cousin recommended that book to me too she says everyone should read it.

AdoraBell · 11/04/2018 22:19

Food delivery yesterday £65 ish
Today £4 in coffee and cake and £2 on chocolate.
