Welcome MrsOH and Duchess
yep..no judgements here!

Unescorted Am feeling for you .. tenterhooks.. But can you bore on about it more than me I wonder? how about capital lending restrictions and the reducing rental asset base affecting borrowing because of govt policy change.. Oh and the 4 year freeze of LHA rates affecting ability to afford market rent Hmm ....

Just ignore me, every one else!

Fluffycloudland77 · 27/03/2018 21:49

Wreck I hopes she’s proud of herself, she must have stood out for them to choose her.

Welcome Mrs. People on here will always find something to be offended about. I put a lot of it down to jealousy. If you’d offered me a discount on this place I’d have jumped at it.

Unescorted I hope you hear soon about both.

Wolf, that sounds really tough. Lonely places hotel rooms.

TheDuchessofDukeStreet · 27/03/2018 21:57

Mrs OH I do like the sound of the fussy black cat! You are very good to go to the library, I have banned myself from ours as I’m very bad at remembering to take them back. I decided what I was paying in fines might as well go to second hand on Amazon.

ememem84 · 27/03/2018 22:00

MrsO absolutely no judgement here. Good luck with it all and keep us updated. Sounds exciting stressful and expensive! But if you get your forever home it’ll be absolutely worth every spend. X

mammy I have my moments of domestic goddessness.
creme I’m leaving dh to it with mil. My plan is to just smile. And be civil when she’s here. Notgive her any ammunition info about me. Just be polite, poised, groomed and my fabulous self. Must learn how to be groomed! Ha!

Unescorted · 27/03/2018 22:04

LHA cap is no longer in place and that hasn't driven a rise in house prices., Just slowed delivery of Affordable Rent properties so we just tipped more capital in to keep rent at less than lha. Social rent didn't touch the LHA in most places. Pennine Lancs, Barrow an where you are are the exception. True council delivery was hit by borrowing caps but then most LA opted for a Almo / lsvt We are now seeing an opening up of HRA borrowing....
😋

MrsOH2004 · 27/03/2018 22:04

Thank you, we've really struggled the past couple of years but we've always paid our bills, wish we hadn't booked the holiday now as it was booked during a good spell, but hey ho, we've something to look forward to.

Unescorted · 27/03/2018 22:15

em can you teach me the grooming tips when you find them out. I do the backward hedge look very convincingly.

MrsOH2004 · 27/03/2018 22:23

TheDuchessOfDukeStreet he's a pain in the arse, he will eat Aldi's cheap brand but our local one has not had the one he likes, they've all had bloody fish in them, he doesn't like many jelly foods either, even if they don't have fish in them. He's a pain in the arse Grin

Laska5772 · 27/03/2018 22:25

😋 Bah, Know it All Unescorted! Smile.. our prob is mainly down to local nimbys and planning and jobs of course Hope you get the job!! Grin

Cagliostro · 27/03/2018 22:34

Delurking just to say welcome, and also no, no judgement here! I am at the other end of the housing journey... reckon we will be moving in the next few months, we are near the top of band A now, we were 11th on two properties last week 😱 but anyway, if we get the chance to buy it one day then we will. If they’re offering you the chance I really don’t see why you wouldn’t! 💐

AdoraBell · 27/03/2018 22:49

Well done on the library trip MrsO you’ll get used to meal planning, and get lots of advise here too. No judgment here either.

Fingers crossed for you unescorted

We’ll be seeing the ILs this weekend. DH is stressed already Hmm I’m ignoring him and have loaded tomorrow’s grocery order with chocolate and biscuits for DDs and me. FFS.

I have some kind of bug. Thought I was dehydrated as I was just slightly dizzy, but DD2 came home saying she had been dizzy in school. We also have sore throats and headaches.

MrsOH2004 · 27/03/2018 22:49

Thank you Cag, we don't even know how much we'll get offered yet as we haven't applied for it, we haven't been late with any rent even though we've had a bad month.
You are close to getting something though? I will keep everything crossed for you! X

Cagliostro · 27/03/2018 22:59

Thank you! I can’t even begin to describe how much it’ll change our lives TBH. Makes me a bit tearful just thinking about it. 😳🙂

SunnyLikeThursday · 28/03/2018 05:14

Adora one of our school teachers has that too. Must also be going round.

Creme It's amazing how many people have had that bug that you mentioned isn't it? I always find it interesting that we all have these things at the same time even though we're all so far away. That means huge numbers of people must be doing the same stuff all over the country and we don't even know or talk about it. It makes me wonder what else we're all doing that's the same.

Well done MrsO. Saving, and doing your best for your family seems like an excellent thing to me.

I had the dizzy thing this week. I just put it down to a migraine.

Life's too short to be jugdy. That's not a reference to my height either.
There are some new council houses being built near my work. They look lovely.

Em, good news about your buyer. How long is mil staying for? Smile and nod, let her show herself up.

Gws frugaleers.

I'm sure I've missed stuff but I am reading

Will have to go to Morrison's today, out of fruit.

mammymammyIRL · 28/03/2018 06:48

Morning all, I've no work today
Going for a run with a friend before I've lots of appointments

Need to buy the supplement that has helped make me well again next week & my sis has a 15% disc code, well aren't they having a one day sale tomo with 20% off so I'm going to purchase a week early, I've half the money set aside anyhow

Might book day trip to Birmingham today with my cousin €60 return, must compare diaries

@needastrongone does she see tags on her email maybe? Just if you see this need we're all thinking of you.

Life I know weight fluctuates daily but I saw a weight down in the next stone bracket this morning GrinGrinGrinGrin

SunnyLikeThursday · 28/03/2018 07:21

Cag I was just reading a book about child nutrition and improving autism symptoms. I wondered if you'd been reading about that too? It was all very interesting stuff and fitted well with what's going on with me and ds. Unfortunately it means more damn cooking but there it is. Must try hard.

8FencingWire · 28/03/2018 07:38

Hello all,
I’ll re-join you if that’s ok, I’ve had lots of ups and downs in the past year and only now I’m getting my head together a bit more :)

I’m managing ok, but I realised I miss your support and banter, so here I am.

WreckTangled · 28/03/2018 07:39

Wolf sorry you're feeling so stressed Sad

Unescorted hope you hear something soon for both things!

Mrs0h we would buy ours but we're not allowed as it's a rural area. That was our only chance of buying Sad

Em did you know you can buy refillable pouches on amazon? They're good if ds likes the fruit ones straight from the pouch. Handy when out and about.

More driving round to be done at work today.

lifelongfrugaleer · 28/03/2018 07:43

Yeah mammy

ChristmasSeacow · 28/03/2018 07:54

Hello again Fencing

mrs I don’t blame you one bit. I think pretty much everyone would do the same in your shoes. Good luck with it

Go Mammy. And thanks for tagging Need properly, I completely forgot I’d need the full user name, duh!

Unescorted you’ve been waiting for so long!

We seem to have hit the 9m sleep regression here Confused. Ug. And DD was perfectly happy with her weetabix breakfast until she saw my hot cross bun, now she is chucking cement around my kitchen.

MrsOH2004 · 28/03/2018 07:54

Good morning everyone, should be a lsd today, have to take mum hospital for blood tests, she's losing hair, she has low thyroids and they think she's not on the correct dose, she thought it was her little sod of her dog doing itGrin, popping into Asda (my 2nd home) for a top for dd1s disco.
Have dd2s Easter bonnet parade at 11.
Out for dinner tonight for Mum's birthday but we aren't paying so will be just a drink to buy for us all.
WreckTangled Sorry to hear that, especially as it's the only chance you'll have Sad
Cagliosto We ended up bidding out of town as we were desperate, but thankfully a property came up just around from my parents and we won it Smile

ememem84 · 28/03/2018 08:10

Mil will be here for 2 weeks. Sigh.

I think the grooming trick is ironing clothes. And doing hair. It’s my hair that lets me down. It shouldn’t. It’s long thick and in superb condition. However it has a mind of its own. Never goes the way I want it to. And is generally poofy even if it’s straightened. Ffs hair.

Today ds will try peas. It was a toss up between peas and butternut. But I’m bored of feeding him orange food. So green it is.

Loveabaconsandwich · 28/03/2018 09:06

Managed to drive half, walk half of the school run but now worn out. But first time I have got dressed or been out of the house since Thursday. Now gone back to bed. Throat is much better though.

mrsOH our previous house was an ex-council house. Our house was a great solid, spacious place so given the opportunity why wouldn’t you buy it?! It’ll then be your home to do what you like with Smile

I need to try and get up and stay out of bed more today. I must go and see what is lurking in the fridge which needs to be binned 🤢

Laska5772 · 28/03/2018 09:08

I Pmd need last week but yes she has to fire up her Pc . Hoping everything is ok with her and she is just busy in RL.

adora hope you feel better before the long weekend ,My son had that dizzy thing also last week and he said he thought it was down to a migraine but he was off work a couple of days .

em good luck with green! Ds hated all purees but adored chewing/gumming on things like red pepper and marmite and cream cheese solders (you probably are not allowed give then that nowadays) from about 6 mths on .

when is the Mil dragon arriving? she is getting a hotel now, yes?

cag exciting, is there a good turnover of property on your WL? we have so few here , You have to bid, yes?
