NSD.

ememem84 · 15/03/2018 17:25

Nsd today.

I have accidentally won an eBay auction. COllection only from Croydon. Bugger.

Loveabaconsandwich · 15/03/2018 17:29

£30 in Tesco.

Glad DS op went well north

My new job is proving a bit dull. As in I don’t have enough to do, either that or I need to work much slower. I did laugh to myself earlier when I wanted sellotape. I got told I would have to ask the boss for the one roll of company sellotape Grin I mean, seriously! It also appears that if I want a hole punch anytime soon I may have to purchase my own 😂 . I currently have to use the email address of the previous person, who was a bloke.

WreckTangled · 15/03/2018 17:32

Oh em! I would offer to collect but that's a bit of a trek for me!

Love sorry you're finding it boring. My job is boring too but it's term time so I can't complain. I'm snapping up every training opportunity available though.

Nsd today. Just at dds swimming lessons. There were two police cars in my road today Shock that never happens!

Tomorrow I have to have a filling. I'm dreading it. I'll have to have an injection won't I? Ah fuck.

Loveabaconsandwich · 15/03/2018 17:35

Maybe my new boss is a frugaleer, hence the right controls on sellotape usage

wreck i’m definitely going to do some training in September. Will have to be paid for by me though

ememem84 · 15/03/2018 17:51

Ive asked if they’ll post. Sent a messsge along the lines of “I’m a bit of a muppet and didn’t read it properly”

If they say no, anyone know what happens?

LonelyOversharer · 15/03/2018 18:01

Sounds like you need to goooo slowwww love can you view it as a bit of a paid holiday? Get your stress levels right down, forget about the hellish commute, and drink lots of tea? You need a scelotape dispenser and a hole punch, and write "loveabaconsandwich" on it in a glittery marker, cover them in unicorn stickers, and have them on your desk to taunt the stationary cupboard controller.

It's been a nsd for me (yay). Dp asked for superglue, and I said sorry I wasn't shopping today. He's going to buy his own superglue.

Tea was homemade chicken chow mien, with fried rice. Total cost £5.60 for 4 adult portions. I roasted the chicken in its bag (3 for £10 asda one), and stripped it bare. It's a small chuck, and will do another meal, I will freeze it for a savoury rice next week.

ChristmasSeacow · 15/03/2018 18:24

I’ve worked in many places with controls on sellotape and similar (NHS!). I’ve always needed to take my own stapler to work 🙄

I appreciate your kind comment Sunny. DD is a ray of sunshine and that will be true whatever happens. I hope I am not offending anyone by being worried about DD being autistic. It would not be the end of the world, I love my DS dearly and have never ever regretted having him. Some of the behavioural stuff is difficult but what I have struggled with most is his limited speech. It is so hard for him not being able to ask and answer questions and to explain his needs /feelings. More than anything I wish I could give him the power of functional speech. There is slow progress there though.

Dd has been okay for the 2 hours after each Calpol dose but then inconsolable and feverish for the other 2 hours between doses. It’s been a long day Confused

£15 on groceries. DH is watching the football tonight so I’m not cooking anything proper. He’s having leftover roast chicken from yesterday, so for myself I bought some naice pizzas from coop (on a deal so one to eat, one to freeze) as DH doesn’t eat pizza. I’m very excited as pizza is a rare treat. Also got more calpol, ham, crumpets (not strictly necessary!) and a bit of fruit.

I’ll be spending the whole evening cleaning tonight as I’m not getting much done in the day. Exciting times Hmm. Friend is visiting tomorrow, the frugal thing would be to make lunch at home but I just don’t feel inspired. She’s over from Japan so it’s a rare visit and a jam butty doesn’t really cut it.

WreckTangled · 15/03/2018 18:35

Em they'll request to cancel the transaction and you should agree so that they can get their fees back. Easily sorted.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 15/03/2018 19:01

Hello all, busy day here work was hectic and then traffic was hideous getting home.

Picked up a few bits in aldi £7.

Sorry to hear your dd is poorly seacow

We had a very unhealthy tea of fries, pizza and salad, really need to get a bit of a handle on our diet as it's really not the healthiest at the moment 😶

Fluffycloudland77 · 15/03/2018 19:30

lovingitvegan.com/vegan-white-sauce-bechamel/

I made this tonight but used veg oil. I mixed the oil and flour while cold, then stirred the milk in. Heated from cold & it was perfectly smooth.

Cagliostro · 15/03/2018 19:46

I bought butter today. We do not need butter. But I was in Waitrose (rare) and they had President on offer. Le yum. Cheaper than Tesco/Lurpak as well now that prices have gone up.

Now I just need a baguette...

I also got one of those wooden bead wire toy thingies in a charity shop. There were some maracas too which she liked grabbing but no clue where they are from ie could be dodgy lead paint or something, so I stuck to the toy which was ELC

OP posts:
ChristmasSeacow · 15/03/2018 19:51

My DD loves her wire bead toy thing Cag (as do all the visiting adults Grin)

DH needs my iPad to watch the football on the BT sports app and I can’t find it anywhere. . Time to turn the place upside down... Confused

QuiteCleanBandit · 15/03/2018 19:52

I did the same Cag but it will be used for baking

WreckTangled · 15/03/2018 20:00

My dd used to call maracas ma'crackers Grin

MeadowHay · 15/03/2018 20:11

Thank you for all the well wishes, I appreciate it, felt awful yesterday tbh. Had a much better day today. Offloaded a bit with one of my colleagues who also recently got rejected for the next job above hers (she is the job I applied for) when she was the only person who applied Hmm. So there is three of us sort of in the same boat and we're all fuming. Lots of people on our team are leaving very soon and they have nobody to replace any of them yet, it's all a huge mess!

Spends today were £1.35 on a latte and 60p on a carrot and apple muffin to go with my lunch at work. The latte was much needed, I was falling asleep! Oh and £1.50 into a collection for a colleague for a milestone birthday.

Em! How did you manage that?! Grin

Wreck I had my first ever filling two years ago and I was so stressed about it. The worst part was the injections for the local anaesthetic as the dentist couldn't get it in the right place for ages and then after awhile it still wasn't numb so she had to go in again, all in all I got jabbed about 6 times with the needle so my gum was just really sore later from that! Very annoying. I think if she'd been able to do it properly it wouldn't have been anywhere near as painful afterwards. I need to go back next month and have like two or three fillings apparently I can't remember exactly. She told me last time I was there but I think cos it was early pregnancy I couldn't have the anaesthetic then or something.

Seacow As someone is on the autistic spectrum but evidently less 'severe' than your DS (I never had a speech delay, actually the opposite and my speech was super advanced when I was little), I don't feel at all offended by you being worried. I hope our baby isn't on the spectrum, I hope that doesn't offend anyone but I think as an autistic person I'm entitled to think and say that. Not because there's anything 'bad' or 'lesser' about it but it certainly makes my life more difficult in many ways and obviously we all want the best and easiest lives for our kids!

Girlie The salad was healthy! Don't worry too much Smile.

When do people book NHS antenatal classes? I get weekly emails from the hospital which are nice and this week's one said to think about booking antenatal classes but it seems far too early?!

Cagliostro · 15/03/2018 20:12

Aw how cute! It’s only a little toy, with sticky things to go on a high chair. Kept her busy while we waited for Badgers club to finish. 😍

I definitely want to get her maracas but not sure I trust the Uber cheap ones on amazon 🤔

Masterchef time, woohoo

meadow no idea Grin buyer has cancelled the order. So it’s ok. Oops.

I’ve spended. £7.99 pcm on a subscription to audible. Currently listening to “the cows” by dawn o’porter. I love her. And her husband. Oooh. Have also downloaded “the tattooist of auschwitz” (I think that’s what it’s called). I’m not reading any books at present (cannot get a break to enjoy books) so figured I can listen and walk. Listen and clean. Listen and eat.

ChristmasSeacow · 15/03/2018 20:57

Ah thanks Meadow, I really appreciate that. The world is not such an easy place for an ASD mind. And I also feel that it is harder for people (by which I mean teachers, classmates, even some relatives) to see what is so fab about him. And lots of things are fab. He’s a brilliant kid.

Found the iPad so marital harmony is restored. Friend is not sure she wants up visit our House of Disease tomorrow as she can’t afford to be ill on her return home. So maybe a quiet day for me and grumpy dd again. I won’t take her to any baby groups to spread her germs.

Loveabaconsandwich · 15/03/2018 21:27

You are right lonely, years of doing full time work in part time hours has taught me to work quickly. Must. Slow. Down. I may have ordered some cheap stationery in pretty colours, I can’t cope without the essentials.

Did you apply for the carer and delivery jobs lonely? Have you heard anything yet?

SnugglySnerd · 15/03/2018 21:31

Ugh. Long and tiring day. NSD though.

Hope DD better soon Christmas. I've had it up to here with poorly kids lately, it's so horrible for them and for you.

Fluffycloudland77 · 15/03/2018 21:44

sea Can you give ibuprofen inbetween calpol doses? What will be will be, she is still your little girl and she is so young to try and diagnose. I didn’t crawl. I bum shuffled.

wig We’ve all done it. I literally burned through thousands and had nothing to show for it. Onwards and upwards.

The most important thing is to teach the children, I was never taught. My mother’s really frugal too, she just never discussed it and I was a bit clueless.

Laska5772 · 15/03/2018 21:46

oh I fell off the thread.. so just place marking so I can read later.. need tea and bed right now.. night night!

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 15/03/2018 22:29

By 'salad' I meant a handful of rocket out of a bag and some cucumber for dd! I really have to force myself to eat healthily, was a v fussy child and still not v adventurous now really. Tbf dd is much better than I was/am!! How many weeks are you meadow I would think anytime from 26 weeks tbh for booking classes...
