Girlie Smile

AdoraBell · 26/02/2018 22:55

Oh no mammy, hope she recovers quickly and you both get a good nights sleep.

Moanranger · 26/02/2018 23:44

Hope all frugalleers are staying warm, but frugally!
Spends today £18 at chemist for cold meds & toothpaste, stocked up as we have used up pretty much everything. £3.36 on food. Not too bad.
What with weather & some on-going financial uncertainty, I feel rather down. But I didn’t fight it, I just went with it & let myself be sad, so now I feel a bit better. A financial break would be nice....

WreckTangled · 27/02/2018 02:23

Goodness, sorry to hear of all the losses going on Sad

Mammy yuck. I hate sick really can't deal with it. I had to get dd to remove one of WreckCat's gigantic hair balls 😱 has this thwarted your plans for today?

It's absolutely freezing in my house! Had to get up for jelly babies 🙄

Wolfcub · 27/02/2018 05:44

Shoop so sorry for your loss

Mammy do what’s right for you, hope you get your me time today and dd is feeling better.
Setting off, trains seem to be running on time so far though there is snow on the ground. Hopefully I can get back on Wednesday night

mammymammyIRL · 27/02/2018 06:01

Thanks for good wishes for dd, usually vomit doesn't bother me but usually mine make it to the toilet. She was up a lot vomiting so therefore so was I Sad

Then ds woke up crying think we've had our first horrible history nightmare! He loves it and watches it daily.

I'm cold & tired but better get up & face the day

Wreck dh is on nights so should be home relatively early, he can spend time with dd.

ememem84 · 27/02/2018 07:18

As predicted no snow. Guernsey has snow. We don’t. I’m both relieved and disappointed.

mammy hope dd is feeling better and you get your me time today xx

Today I need to buy litter for catface. That should be it. Ds May take me and Dm swimming but not sure yet.

Oh Mammy, poor you and DD. Hope you get some time to reflect and think a bit today. It's your birthday today no? Happy Birthday if it is, and apologies if it's not. xx

Moan, you are allowed to feel sad, it's better to confront and accept the emotion I think.

Shoop I'm so sorry for your loss. Be kind to yourself.

We have snow. My spends today will be £5 for my core and conditioning class.

needastrongone · 27/02/2018 07:30

Snow

Money Saving Marches on....frugal living, friendly chat, no judgment
needastrongone · 27/02/2018 07:31

Not as much as forecast though in fairness.

QuiteCleanBandit · 27/02/2018 07:36

No snow here but trains cancelled Angry
Utterley ridiculous so DS will be late for work.
Sick of all the bloody north/south memes also.
The media is whipping up a stupid frenzy over a bit of snow -we are all just cracking on ! Hmmmpfh !
Have a good day all Grin

WreckTangled · 27/02/2018 07:41

No snow here. Pfft. My sister has loads Envy

Loveabaconsandwich · 27/02/2018 08:05

No snow here but -5*

DD2 has gone with DP to grandmas thankfully so don’t need to take her on the morning freezing school run. DD1 and I are ready early for going to school-unheard of! When I get home, I have to work a few hours to end up on zero hours owing when I leave work tomorrow. I’m sure I am going to be highly productive today Wink

Need to buy milk and a couple of dinners for the next couple of days

So sorry shoop Flowers

Happy birthday mammy and hope DH doesn’t spoil your day. Hope DD feels better too!

Grrr for the cancelled train quite

Happy birthday Mammy Cake Wine

LonelyOversharer · 27/02/2018 09:33

Happy Birthday mammy Emotional abuse is very hard to call. For me I made myself a promise that the next time I felt the way I did in that moment (driving my two little dd's away from my own house in tears as I couldn't bear my ex being my ex anymore), that I would leave. It took nearly another year, but in the end I left him because I'd promised myself I would. A shit load came out in the wash afterwards, but I left on my promise. Try to have a good day won't you xx

We have 4cm of snow at ours, and it's coming down hard. But three miles west it's barely snowing. Luckily, despite being in the North Pennine hills, our driveway meets the main road through from our nearest city to lifes, and is kept open and swept. So we won't get snowed in. Dd1's bus missed her and the lad in the next village along today, no notice of this. Luckily she hopped in the big car and came in with us, but she stood out in the blizzard for 25 mins, as he doesn't stop if she isn't on the kerb waiting.

Taytocrisps · 27/02/2018 09:39

Sorry I've been awol - busy week or two. I don't think I made it onto this thread at all and you're 13 pages in!

Seacow that's fantastic that DD slept through from 7 - 7!

Lonely hope your charger turns up - really frustrating. You'll have to put up a photo of your Easter knits. I'm sure they're lovely.

Happy Birthday mammy Flowers and Cake. Hope the book helps. I'm not one for urging people to ltb at the slightest disagreement but you've seemed unhappy for a long time now. And your DH seems reluctant to acknowledge your unhappiness or accept any responsibility for it. He seems to get defensive and aggressive when you raise issues with him. Anyway, we're all here for you if you need some support. Sometimes it's easier to discuss these things with concerned strangers than with rl people.

Shoop I'm sorry for your loss.

No snow here yet but it's due later today or possibly this evening. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday are supposed to be the worst days. It doesn't take much snow to bring the whole country to a grinding halt and temperatures are due to drop to something like -10, so the roads will be lethal. I saw photos on Facebook of empty supermarket shelves. DD is keeping everything crossed that the schools will close Smile. DH said he might pick up extra coal and logs in case the power goes.

I've to go to the shops in a bit so I'll post my spends then.

DD and I made our first Mary Berry cake from the book - Iced Lemon Traybake. It was fab - really moist. I'm considering a coffee and walnut cake next.

Taytocrisps · 27/02/2018 11:27

Did you see this mammy Grin

mammymammyIRL · 27/02/2018 12:33

Tayto it's crazy isn't it!
I always have bread in the freezer but if I didn't we would survive!

Will read rest of thread later 27 mins left in work today Grin

mammymammyIRL · 27/02/2018 13:47

I took my birthday off Facebook a few years ago, I get a couple of texts off friends & family that remember and none of the ones from people who only know it's my birthday because Facebook told them Grin

Thanks to everyone here.
I'm hoping to meet a friend for lunch & if I do will discuss my situation. Also hoping to meet my cousin who's estranged from her husband tonight and will discuss with her.
Think I'm ready though.
I deserve to be happy and my children deserve not to be living with a ticking time bomb.
I think the remarks about me feeling unwell being in my head was the straw that broke the camels back.
Spends so far
€50 laser treatment
€16.50 another weeks supply of revive active
€1 on parking
€1 on a 100g bar of plamil organic vegan dairy free chocolate.

Loveabaconsandwich · 27/02/2018 14:18

Hope you get some useful rl input too mammy

I am seriously tired. It probably is because I am on the wind down though. Worked three hours, actually did quite a bit of work and forwarding stuff on. I can now go in half an hour later tomorrow and take a long lunch and come out even at the end of the final day.

My mum gave out all her bank details to a cold caller who said they were from talk talk. Fortunately 5 minutes later her bank called to say they have blocked the transaction and will cancel/ reissue her card. She told me she has done this previously too Confused

mammymammyIRL · 27/02/2018 14:32

Oh bacon your poor mum so trusting

Of course you're tired, but you're almost there now Grin

Friend for lunch can't meet me, didn't hear back from my cousin yet but there's lots of time yet.

Fluffycloudland77 · 27/02/2018 14:46

Love Does she realise the mistake?.

Lonely Your poor dd. Nice of them to let a child stand in a blizzard.

£6 cupcake dough but this will be free.
£1.50 bread but I’ll get £1 back.
£2 soya milk
£3.50 toy mousie.
£3 eggs & ham
£1 nipple cream to use as lip balm but it’s got one of my allergens in so I’ll use it as knee cream. My lips are so soft though.

mammymammyIRL · 27/02/2018 15:44

Lunch ended up being exceptionally frugal. Decided to have lasagne & the works because calories don't count on your birthday. When I went to order dessert waiter told me rest of my bill had been paid by an old workmate I'd been talking to before I ate GrinBlush so €4.80 for my cake & now stuffed going to cinema so think I'll just bring in a bottle of water to go with my bar of chocolate.
