Laksa GrinGrin
£22 mil, those ceilings will be a bugger to clean. Deal breaker. ...

I like the iow one. Please can someone lend me £645,000 interest free on the never, never never pay back

Laska5772 · 07/02/2018 20:29

Life the Maid can do that, silly..

Sadly my house is not at all like that IOW one!

lifelongfrugaleer · 07/02/2018 20:32

Of course the maid.. Silly me.

Just had a look at the £600k houses within 20 miles of me and I'm not struck tbh. Good job I can't afford it...

Moanranger · 07/02/2018 20:35

No NSDs so far this week, tho I used up my Nectar points at last Sainsbury’s trip, meaning £14 of food only cost £ 4. Today LSD, I used up my Coop points so food cost, 32p; however, I then bought special horse feed, ordered by my DD - known to us as She Who Must Be Obeyed- which cost £38. We are going to a film tonight on Cineworld vouchers, so free, except they charge £1 handling for on line booking.
Tomorrow should be LSD, no food, chemist stuff needed & I go to gym, and choir £4.DP away Fri-Sun, so hoping to keep spend to a minimum. However, Sunday I am grooming for SWMBO (above) who always tries to weasel lunch out of me. I think I shall text her beforehand & suggest I bring her a nice tuna sandwich Smile

Unescorted · 07/02/2018 20:38

I need you guys to style me. I find clothes buying really depressing. Nothing seems to fit because I have no curves but am overweight...just evenly all over.

Wolf the car comes with a ridiculous amount of miles each month. They worked out it was cheaper to give me a lease car than pay higher mileage. I spend a significant amount of time wearing grooves in the M6. It is not unheard-of to be in Carlisle in the morning and Crewe in the afternoon.

I have broken my NSD streak £3.95 on a ball of wool.

Wolfcub · 07/02/2018 20:39

Only just got home. Really fed up of work and commuting this week. Still have it all to do again tomorrow and a job to apply for on Friday. Dh being away for a week has really not helped, normally I would enjoy the peace space and lack of mess but I’m just to exhausted to enjoy it. Had a run in with a taxi driver too, called a venue recommended taxi and when he came told him where I was going. He bitched and moaned and called me a lazy cow who should have walked. I did what I never ever do and bit back - he apologised but it was not on the list of things I needed today

MeadowHay · 07/02/2018 20:48

Wolf Shock that is appalling!! You should complain to the taxi company, that is shocking behaviour and absolutely not on at all! Good for you in saying something back to the cheeky buggar!

I just found a nine bedroomed house in my city for £600k, and that was in an 'alright' area as well. Don't mean to sound snobby but there are certain places here I really wouldn't live (although tbf that is a lot influenced by my being an ethnic minority, I would probably be less arsed if I was not), and that's not one of 'those' areas iyswim. I'm ngl I can't imagine ever being in a position to buy a house that much...nice pipe dream though Grin.

ememem84 · 07/02/2018 21:14

£600k in some areas would get us so so much space....

laksa I so want to look round the manor. It’s near the stables so we’ve hacked past loads. It is beautiful.

Have given dh options.

  1. cancel our sale
  2. delay our sale
  3. increase budget
  4. secret option 4. Not sure what this is yet. But there must be another option
  5. get drunk.

We cannot wait indefinetly for the right house. At some point a compromise must be reached.

mammymammyIRL · 07/02/2018 21:31

Oh em you need to shake your dh, that's a lovely house you don't even need to picture it as family home with ds because it's already being lived in with children Grin it's got country look kitchen too. What's actually wrong with the location can he list the reasons it's wrong? Leave him at the house hunting on his day off and he might feel differently at the end of the day Wink make sure he brings ds with him though it's not a fair comparison unless he does!

Girlie sorry to hear about speeding fine Sad

em have you tried looking at everything in your budget? Don't discount anything until you have viewed the house. Or could you price up heating on the one that was ok except for the lack of heating?

Wolf I hope you have him heaps and told the venue that he was rude.

Fluffycloudland77 · 07/02/2018 21:34

Moan I hope the horse appreciates it!.

John Lewis personal shopping appt Unescorted.

I hope you didn't tip Wolf

Fluffycloudland77 · 07/02/2018 21:34

Where is Need?

Loveabaconsandwich · 07/02/2018 21:37

OOoh there might be a better paid job which would be more stretching of my skills at the place I was offered a job at the other day... I have declined the original one though.

£3.20 on lunch

The highlight of today was that some colleagues did a bake off so ate a lot of cake. It was amazing. And tomorrow my colleague is making us all burgers. Mmmmmm.

Loveabaconsandwich · 07/02/2018 21:39

em the house hunting does sound so stressful. It is a huge purchase though.

ememem84 · 07/02/2018 22:02

unescorted I’m absolutely looking at everything within budget. The one without heating is under offer for full asking price. The market is moving quick here. Incidentally dh priced heating at £5300. For electric rads (like we have now) in each room. The plan being when things get extended etc that’s the time to doncentral heating. Which made sense. But it’s cost a fortune to extend etc.

Estate agent has sent me another. Dh has discounted because it’s got wooden frame double glazing. And he’d be maintaining it every year. Ffs. I want to shake him and scream that there is nothing wrong with the house. Although I do appreciate that things need to be maintained to keep looking their best. Weirdly this one is opposite one we looked at and discounted. I couldn’t work out how the space worked. The first one we viewed was empty. This is lived in. So easier to see how it flows as a home Iyswim.

Biggest purchase we’ll ever make so it does need to be right and neither of us want to settle. But I’m twitching. My parents have said we can stay with them. But it can only be short term. I’m envisioning it being three weeks max. And I want an offer confirmed and a moving date set before we move in with them. If things get delayed once we’ve offered that’s fine. But they are not going to be happy if we haven’t found somewhere yet.

I may just offer on the manor.

Wolfcub · 07/02/2018 22:18

Would he be more up for it if you agreed to replace the windows in 1-2 years Em?

ememem84 · 07/02/2018 22:28

assume you mean to pvc wolf? I don’t know whether that’d be allowed but it’s a question to ask the agent I suppose.

I’ve told him to find something by the end if next week.

Wolfcub · 07/02/2018 22:30

PVC or aluminium - if he knew he perhaps only had to paint them once (or not at all) that would be a barrier removed

Moanranger · 08/02/2018 00:32

Em In what universe do you have to maintain wooden double glazing annually? I have always had these with special paint which last about 10 years. Is your DH mad? Way better than PVC, which I replace, with wood, PDQ

Cagliostro · 08/02/2018 02:34

Spends £18 curry (some of us chipped in to cover the friend who drove us). Le. Freaking. Yum. Just got home 😳😂 May as well make the most of the time while the baby is small and portable 😆

mammymammyIRL · 08/02/2018 05:55

Only awake twice last night, once for toilet & once because ds decided to join me & bring a collection of books & teddies with him. Grin

lifelongfrugaleer · 08/02/2018 06:07

YY em hand him right move and say if you go then find a house available now, in budget that ticks boxes and see how he fairs.
Very stressful, make sure you look after you.

Love go for it.

Need wasn't well. Hope she is feeling better.

Taxi driver sounds like an arse.

Nsd planned today.

Loveabaconsandwich · 08/02/2018 07:13

DD2 woke up at 1am as she was windy.

I then got up for work at 5.20am. It’s going to be a long day. But I did make a travel mug of tea for my journey.

Today shouldn’t be too spendy. I may need to replenish my chocolate supply at work at Poundland though.

WreckTangled · 08/02/2018 07:44

Three bed semi for £650k just round the corner from me.

I went to bed at 8 last night Grin

Tonight we're going to Waterstones as they have a Harry Potter event on. Dd is convinced she's going to win the quiz!

WreckTangled · 08/02/2018 07:49

£6.50 to school for ds' trip to a Chinese restaurant Confused still owe £6.90 for a workshop dd's class are doing. It's constant asking for money Sad
