moan ah I didn’t know that. I’m going off what dh said re wood frames. It’s not a job I’d do to be honest so no clue.

Have told dh that I think he’s being unrealistic. And am leaving him to it. Find me a house I want to live in.

Spendy today. Dentist. Paying the balance for my Invisalign. Eeeep.

mammymammyIRL · 08/02/2018 08:57

Long commute for em wreck Grin

I wanted to go to bed at 8, in reality it ended up being 9.30pm. It will be 8.45 tonight as dd has Ladybirds to attend.

Ds is hoarse and croaky and was moaning during the night in his sleep, he wasn't up when I left so au pair is deciding if he's fit for school.

Were your dc in bed before you wreck or did dh do bedtime?

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 08/02/2018 09:08

Mammy the dc were both in bed. Ds goes up at 6:30 for story etc and dd 7:30.

mammymammyIRL · 08/02/2018 09:47

Not checking up on you just wondering about bedtimes in different houses. I like to start getting them into pjs at 7 and be up the stairs then by 7.45 as bedtime is 8pm. Dh wouldn't even think of putting on their pjs until 8.30pm and then he's cross with them and it all goes on until about 9.30pm. Last night dd had an awful lot of homework so that was part of the reason things ran late.

They're similar ages to mine I think.

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 08/02/2018 09:53

They share a room otherwise ds might go to bed a bit later. I had to wake him up at 7 this morning though so maybe a later bedtime wouldn't work?! It's ok I didn't think you were checking up on me Grin

mammymammyIRL · 08/02/2018 09:53

Em It's easy for your dh to be idealistic when he's not the one on the ground, hopefully when he's doing the donkey work he'll be more amenable to compromise.

OP posts:
mammymammyIRL · 08/02/2018 09:55

Mine share a room too, and love it.

If he's sleeping and not up at cock crow he needs the early bedtime, just this past few days we're introducing ds back to napping a couple of times a week and he's so much happier and more lively in the evenings already. Dd still napped while at playschool and it helped her.

Nofilter · 08/02/2018 10:03

Bedtimes at our house are still all over the place. DD still naps sometimes at 4-5ish she just can’t make the whole day... I’m mostly getting her asleep by 10pm!

I’m assuming when she goes to nursery more we’ll settle into a better routine after the move.

I had an awful nights sleep what with DD and the dog I have zero room!!

She’s still in my bed as was a really colicky baby and we’ve not moved since...

What would you do if you were me? Move her into a room in a house she is familiar with or wait until we move and make a big deal out of her having her own room?

I’m just glad of the solid sleep TBH it comes and goes!

WreckTangled · 08/02/2018 10:07

How old is she nofilter?

mammymammyIRL · 08/02/2018 10:21

Same question how old is she?

£3564 paid to the dentist. 80 weeks worth of straightening is on order. The process starts 1 March. Eep.

Been a spendy sort of morning, dd went off to school she seemed totally better so fingers crossed she has a good day!

I went to a garden centre as dd has asked specifically for some cacti plants for her bday, unfortunately going into a garden centre means I am forced to buy plants 😶 I don't feel it's something I can control 😉 spent £20 ish, went to aldi for some party food which was another £20 ish and went to asda for a bday cake and other bits which was also £20 ish

It's just as well I only have one child and one bday to sort out!!

needastrongone · 08/02/2018 16:16

I'm here Fluffy, I was pissed off with you for defining 'rest' for me Grin

I actually wish that I could have rested more these last few days, although I'm loads better today anyway. DH is away, so no one to walk dogs, do the pony, ferry kids anyway. Yesterday was mega busy and I was pooped by 9.30 pm when we got in from training.

Laska I might have fallen into the Hush site and ordered some stuff... Smile I've hardly bought any clothes for months (apart from a jumper from Sainbury's 'tother day). I'm not sure there's a balance to be had somewhere and I shall perhaps keep on top a few bits more.

Same goes for nails and beauty stuff. It's 8 weeks since I had anything done and I hate that my hands and feet look crap. My skin is looking like it's been ill too. Operation 'take better care 'cos it's important to me' from today.

I've bought some equipment for DD's training, but that actually sells for pretty much it's asking price and we will only be using it a few times anyway.

Spends
£19 Feed shop
£60 fuel for car.

needastrongone · 08/02/2018 16:23

em I think your DH needs the Kirsty and Phil treatment, especially Kirsty, she usually loses patience and tells the buyers what she thinks!!

Laska5772 · 08/02/2018 16:28

Ooh what did you get need? The only thing I have bought from the new stuff is the puff sleeve tunic (which I thought looked a bit weird until i saw it IRL in JL) .. though I do believe they are launching the rest of their spring collection next week...

I gave DS £100 today (but i had promised him that for something he wanted for Christmas and he has only just asked for it .)

£20 yesterday on hair cut and tip.. I get a wet cut (short pixie cut every 5 weeks ) £16 - Pretty good I reckon .Then I dye it myself ( v white blonde.. )

ememem84 · 08/02/2018 16:34

Been for a walk. Ds saw a cow.

Fluffycloudland77 · 08/02/2018 16:49

I'm sorry Need, it was meant in jest. I won't do it again.

£14 aldi
£11 tesco.

New broadband isn't set up yet, it's been flashing red since 06:30. I glare at it every time I go in the kitchen.

ChristmasSeacow · 08/02/2018 16:51

£600k will buy a small 2-bed terrace round here (though not very near the tube). £500k is an average 2-bed flat. Ridiculous.

Em sounds like you and DH have both discounted places for whatever reasons. But for different reasons. You each have your own criteria, not a completely joint list. I think that is the inevitable starting point between couples and it normally resolves itself as viewings continue and everyone gets more realistic. I guess your biggest problem is the time pressure as you haven’t got time to go through lots of viewing iterations to reach a compromise. If there are lots of buyers for nice airy flats and the market is moving fast, would you consider pulling out of your sale and doing it the other way round? Or is the buyer too ‘valuable’ to lose?

I’ve not been keeping up very well because dd is ill (snotty nose, bad tummy, teething, bad mood, not sleeping). It’s very hard going and I am losing my sense of humour today. I’ve had crisps for lunch. So I’m hangry. Not with her, it’s not her fault but it is sooo frustrating.

Girlie glad dd is better and you can breathe again.

Need glad you’ve pulled through too Wink

Mammy you still sound pretty wiped out. Are you on the mend slowly?

Meadow good luck to DH. You’d miss family being close (v helpful!) but universities are decent communities, Ime, so hopefully you’d both make some friends and new networks. Babies are excellent ice breakers too.

Few quid today on bread and fruit and a jam doughnut but it’s been quite a frugal week. Apart from ordering the new front door. I am excited about that. I must be a proper boring grown-up nowadays.

lifelongfrugaleer · 08/02/2018 16:52

£6 Morrison's

needastrongone · 08/02/2018 16:52

Was joking myself ha! Your comment made me Grin

lifelongfrugaleer · 08/02/2018 16:53

Was it a proper jersey cow em?

ememem84 · 08/02/2018 17:08

life it was. Here it is in all its cow-y glory.

This is my “thing I’m grateful for” today. Sunny winter days just me and ds walking in the afternoon. I listened to The horse and his boy on my phone. Reading has gone out of the window really which is a shame. But I have downloaded a few audio books. The narnia ones I have but never read as a kid. So the horse and his boy, the magicians nephew and the silver chair.

Fluffycloudland77 · 08/02/2018 17:11

Oh Blush

I would also like to know if it's a jersey cow. Did you make the moo sound?

SunnyLikeThursday · 08/02/2018 17:13

I wondered - would anybody know who the right specialist is to look at the gait of a child who is struggling to run fast enough to keep up with games in the playground?

My ds is having a rubbish time because he just can't run very fast, and I'm wondering if a podiatrist or physio might give us some advice.

It just occurred to my that they are foot people, and physios and runners on here and I wondered if anyone might know?

ememem84 · 08/02/2018 17:14

YES!!!! We saw the herd in thefield and I said “look Ds, Moo cows. What do cows say? They say “mooooooo” don’t they? Can you say “moooooo” to which ds looked at me, yawned and raised an eyebrow as if to say “seriously mother?! Your embarrassing yourself. It’s a cow. Duh”
