shudder Lonely.. Shock..

QuiteCleanBandit · 13/02/2018 22:08

I wish I could afford not to "do cold" but atm the heating is off and will stay off until I find out whats going on
We have an open fire and DG and expensive heavy John Lewis curtains are brilliant for keeping draughts out!
Uggs and dressing gown plus hot water bottle tonight .
Dcats get very silly and run about when its cold Grin
Im not sure what the immersion business means ?
I think ours is gas as it is on a dual control thingy with heating .
We dont have hot water all the time so guessing its not electric immersion??

QuiteCleanBandit · 13/02/2018 22:10

Triple glazing Shock
Im a windows open and air the house type of gal -luckily .
Doesnt it get stuffy ?

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/02/2018 22:12

Ooh I Love agas. We lived rurally and only had two working radiators. It was so cold and I can see why so many people had them years ago. That and the lack of mains gas Grin our neighbour had lpg and paid £500 a month in gas in winter. £300 a month in electric.

mammymammyIRL · 13/02/2018 22:22

I haven't had to wait long to buy my soup maker. Littlewoods aren't impressed that my account balance has been zero for about 12 months, they've text me & emailed me letting me know I've got available credit.
Well today I got a letter giving me €15 off €50 spend, not likely to beat that Grin

€3.66 on valentines card for dh as dd is valentines mad

€4.05 on Nutella(well choc spread as cheaper but not spreadable I'll stick to branded next time) salted caramel fudge bites and 4 eggs

Price on soupmaker gone up to €70 Sad
Converted 1500 SV Real Rewards points to €30 off my electricity bill, then discovered you can only use one per billing period so that's me covered until August, will use next 500 points for €6 off my mobile phone bill Grin

The only nutella own brand that is like the real stuff is sainsburys I've found. I stick to brand here too. 30 seconds in the microwave turns it into runny sauce not that we have that on pancakes ever

Just found the DM's for dd2 for £80 from a shoe shop in chesterfield selling on amazon. So I bought them quickly. They had better fit and better last! Will transfer the money to my credit card.

My aga had a terrible oil habit. But I loved it, bought it new to replace the very broken rayburn. It was 5k Shock

LonelyOversharer · 13/02/2018 22:40

No mains gas here, I have an lpg tank. It takes £80 a month, but is filled 3x a year. Just a gas hob (gas oven is a very uneven cook so I use the electric one) and the clever combi boiler. Used less overall last year as my payments went down from £100/m even though the gas price went up.

Cagliostro · 13/02/2018 23:37

Spends £102 across George, Tesco, Tu and Mothercare. Mostly next lot of baby paraphernalia like next size sleeping bag etc plus my nursing tops and trousers for DS. Made the most of the discounts, cashback etc

Gratitudes:

  • The fact I was able to do the above without worrying if I can afford it. I was still very choosy and got rid of lots from the baskets to narrow it down, but even a year ago there’s no way I’d have been able to do this (or I would have without thinking about overdraft charges).
  • The fact that I am able to get click and collect on 3 of the above orders (Tesco is free delivery anyway due to having the delivery saver) as I’m healthier now and walking to the relevant stores is no longer a scary prospect
  • Lovely lovely friend who gave us some teaching supplies (she’s retired and gradually clearing her house) and also gave me some money for the kids ❤️

Busy few days ahead babysitting and seeing family eeeek

Fluffycloudland77 · 14/02/2018 06:31

Quite I haven't got triple glazed. That's way off in the future. I always have my trickle vents open anyway during the day.

Mammy that's really bad luck.

Loveabaconsandwich · 14/02/2018 06:32

£4.70 to park as was running late and car needed de-icing.

Trying very hard to wear this face today Sad rather than this Grin. I’m going in to work to resign!!! Have to give a months notice though.

Fluffycloudland77 · 14/02/2018 06:40

Oh well done I wondered if they'd got back to you. Obviously they did! Grin

WreckTangled · 14/02/2018 07:20

Exciting love!!

No sure what we're doing today.

Fluffycloudland77 · 14/02/2018 07:41

www.savewatersavemoney.co.uk/products/view/38494/combi-smart.html

These get good reviews, you just need a combi boiler & a plumber.

LonelyOversharer · 14/02/2018 07:49

Oh love that is great. You have been so down with the leaving a diddly dot and sitting on the train forever. The balance is there, I'm really happy for you.

My poor boy has been snoring awfully all night (in my arms since 3am). He is so bunged up.

Dp is away getting work today (on site once a fortnight to collect work to do from home) and is in an annoying panic, as he hasn't quite finished the last lot his time management is iffy. How we did this and had the shop is becoming a mystery.

I'm going to see about clearing a space for a tunnel for the chucks today. I mentioned maybe getting some quail in the spring, dp was Confused.

LonelyOversharer · 14/02/2018 08:14

Have spent £83 from my bed. Tu order. They are on 25% until the 19th. Thats a lot of school uniform, plus vests and pants. Order going to the big shop, so I'll have to be careful picking it up!

Wolfcub · 14/02/2018 08:22

Love - happy resignation day

mammymammyIRL · 14/02/2018 08:35

love that's fantastic news, must read over the past few days to see your musings on the situation, last I saw you were wondering about childcare.

Recalling all the talk about beans last week, I've just frugally eaten the remaining third of a tin of beans for breakfast today, ate the rest for lunch yesterday and leftovers were stored in a mug in the fridge at work. It was easier to eat them than have to decant into another container to talk home. They were supervalu daily basics, I'm not keen so will upgrade to supervalu own brand this week Grin
10am snack is also frugal using 2 pears which would be thrown out if they were left at home, and chopping into my bowl of porridge.

CC have temporarily credited the chargeback transaction to my card, my account is in credit. That's 1 of 3 credit cards repaid. If I repay €110 per week on the other two cards I will clear both of them this year. Since I came back to work I haven't been on full wages as I've been sick and on shorter hours so I know I can manage the €110.00. Determined head on now. Balance remaining between two cards €4832.13 BlushBlush maybe €300 of this is money due from my db which I'll get in April, dsis in next two months and dh. This will allow for interest yet to be charged.

lonely sorry to hear your ds is under the weather but on a positive note, you can give him 100% attention now instead of dragging him to shop like you'd previously have had to do

*No direct debits came out today or yesterday from mine/joint acc Grin

Yay love you beat me to it.. I am still teetering at the open door of the resignation plane.. parachute packed ( i hope) but scared.. ...
So how did the new job deal pan out in the end?

Laska5772 · 14/02/2018 08:53

I spent £35 yesterday on rhubarb gin for dhs birthday ans then another 23 in sainsburys on frozen fruit and more gin! They had bombay sapphire on offer.. 20 for litre ( hic) its ok its going on the store cupboard !

ememem84 · 14/02/2018 09:07

Dh has taken the day off. Or rather he said he’d take the day off but in reality will have to go in this afternoon. I’m miffed as this was “my” day to sort myself out. I had a massage booked for this afternoon as dh was Home to watch ds. But now have to scrabble around and find a babysitter. Sigh.

I’m heading into town in a bit. I’m after some new black boots. And have vouchers to cover them. Bets I don’t find anything!

mammymammyIRL · 14/02/2018 09:28

em Angry at your dh, is he also house hunting Wink

Never anything around when you're looking for them specifically.

I wore my new boots on Sat, they're same as pair I got last year except different colour, except they're not as comfortable at all Hmm

Anyone having issues with Amazon?
Ordeted LED lightbulbs which were delayed and delayed and in the end after 2 weeks of daily delayed emails Angry I emailed-they cancelled the order ,refunded and gave me a voucher, then the same happened with some sunscreen
Spent voucher on Nesti Dante soap Blushand guess what?
Just got an email saying its delayedAngryAngryAngry
What on earth is going on!

Fluffycloudland77 · 14/02/2018 10:35

My orders are taking longer too.

Aldi/lidl/ikea do LEDs, or led hut was always good. Don't know if they still do cashback. You get a little bag of Haribo in each parcel Unless your Dh gets there first. I've got a business account with them, they've never asked for proof I'm a business.

NSD. Did top up shop but used dhs money.

QuiteCleanBandit · 14/02/2018 10:37

I prefer Amazon as Im not always around when parcels are delivered and so with Amazon I could order when I know Im off the next day to recieve.
Its so annoying -not only delayed my order just got "lost", twice !
