Em you can make it look country cottage though, love the mini just slotted in there Grin

LonelyOversharer · 01/02/2018 17:31

I can see why you liked the little cottage-y one from the other day em, the house you just linked looks indeed like a sensible family home. I do like the colour of the kitchen cabinets!

I just meant it seems like a no from dh is it. No. Wheras you are going, "I could change this, do this later" etc. I never thought you'd veto just cos dh had! You seem a bit more accommodating, and that it will be you that compromises but a mini would be lovely compensation!

Todays figures are easy anyway, a nsd. Dp made tea, a chicken stew thing with rice using things we already had. I need to think hard and make a proper list and do a food shop tomorrow though. Aiming for under £100, and for it to last!

Fluffycloudland77 · 01/02/2018 17:31

I think Dh is right too. Open house Saturday though.

Laska5772 · 01/02/2018 17:39

You could do a lot with this house Em

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 01/02/2018 17:44

Em I think you could make that really lovely.

£2.20 lunch.

Found out teacher is leaving. She's been off since Christmas due to bereavement but dd loves her. She's an NQT and was brilliant. Dd cried all the way home.

Unescorted · 01/02/2018 17:56

laska & moan yes we have just changed our name. Please admire the new one 😁 anyway back in a bit I have to do my HIIT and dinner.

ememem84 · 01/02/2018 18:03

True fluffy but we’ve agreed to offer straight away if it’s THe place. We’re the first viewers.

Dh has left cash money dollar in his jeans pockets. I can see it whizzing around in he machine. There’s a tenner and a few pound notes. Must empty machine before he gets home....!

mammymammyIRL · 01/02/2018 18:05

Chicken curry for dinner & I just discovered we've no rice, after months of 5/6 packs in the press Grin so it's curry, chips, potatoes & wraps done as naan bread Smile
SuperValu sent another €17.50 code off €150 shop Grin

Laska that house looks fab Grin

mammymammyIRL · 01/02/2018 18:06

Fluffy spindryer arrived Grin

ememem84 · 01/02/2018 18:09

laksa that’s my colleagues parents place....

Laska5772 · 01/02/2018 18:11

Small Islands ! I know that feeling.. No go then?

OP posts:
ememem84 · 01/02/2018 18:14

No. He’s a diy-er. And a never finish-er. And the garden (while huge) is terraced and easy for kids to get lost in.

It’s a lovely place. Very homey. We’ve been there when colleagues parents have thrown bbqs. They’re Portuguese so the food was insanely good. And so much of it.

Laska5772 · 01/02/2018 18:16

My ruddy cat !! has taken to joining me on my small desk and washing himself drippily (he has no teeth) .. I only have a small laptop/tablet ( not much bigger than 10" , but he insist on squeezing right up to it bum hanging over side of keyboard ..I could move or put into tablet mode but why should i? Am clinging to end of desk trying to type.. ........Hmm

I like that house Em but it would need a fair bit of work to bring it up to date and be a bit more homely. Lovely kitchen and garden.

Another busy day at work, thats the end of my week though today thank God. Another NSD Halo loads going on at work at the min so glad to be out of it for a few days.

Tomorrow will be pricey though as am getting up early to get the Paloma Faith tickets which for dd and I which will be about £100 Shock loads but its a one off and will be amazing. Also need to get last few bits for dds birthday including some bits for party bags.

Dd is tired she has had swimming, clarinet, tennis and singing club today Grin

Unescorted · 01/02/2018 18:39

em I'm not convinced by your husband's choice. The ceilings seem really low but that could just be the poor photos. I like *laska's" find but you are wise to stay away from a ne'er finisher or a bodgit and scarper. They can be a money pit.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 01/02/2018 18:56

Is it Jan and Feb that are council tax free months? Mine hasn't come out, will be fab if so as that pays for the PF tickets!! Will otherwise be a fairly tight month esp as there is half term to budget for....

needastrongone · 01/02/2018 19:00

I think re houses, having moved quite a bit since being with DH that overall, you've got to really love and have 'that' feeling for a house. I've done both, bought a house because it ticked all the practical boxes and just never really settled, never really reconciled myself to all the good things because I didn't feel the vibe. This house, I still walk into and smile. Good luck em, these things have a habit of figuring themselves out.

I'm definitely not going to eat lentils just to save money when I don't need to, but there are also times when I buy a tin of kidney beans when there's already a tin in the cupboard, or they are not even in the meal plan. So tracking it all will definitely help.

Another thing is heating. Utterly refuse to be cold in my own house. I spend too much time out in the cold and mud to shiver in my own abode ha ha!!

Today has been good. I ran 12 miles. Then did a PT session, he taught me core exercises that stretch you out too, really effective. Cleaned out my car. Ferried dc around as usual.

Spends
£60 Ocado.
£15 windows
£10 DD training.

We are having veggie chilli. Sweet potato wedges to use those up.

DS got his final uni offer from Birmingham, he's got offers from all 5, this will do his confidence loads of good. Dd has managed to get all A's in her mocks and sweated her socks off for those results, which I'm really proud of her for doing.

Plan tonight is to menu plan.

Laska5772 · 01/02/2018 19:03

Girlie yes Feb and March if you've signed up fro 10 months .. Its paying for the curtains here .. Smile

Well I put enough chilli in the sc for two meals but dh served it all up in one and then didn't even eat all of his AngryAngry

QuiteCleanBandit · 01/02/2018 19:29

Wreck
Oh no -I always serve as DH is awful for pigging out Angry

Sorry whats a press ? A chest ?
I got a huge sack of basmati rice for £6 the other day-have a scoop to measure as DH would cook a bucket load for 2 people.
Fish pie and peas for dinner Smile

House buying is so stressful -I would second going with your instinct.
We were buying a house but while it was ok I just didnt love it .
Saw this and pulled out immediately .
Its perfect ,huge enclosed garden, orchard, open fire and trees and birds .
It was like coming home when I walked
Never moving again . (DH thinks we will)

mammymammyIRL · 01/02/2018 19:34

Sorry quite a press is a cupboard

mammymammyIRL · 01/02/2018 19:37

Wreck my dh would do that too
We had carbonara last night & I was beating up egg yolks & Parmesan for the four of us until I discovered he Dan cooked enough pasta for about three days, ruined it for me Hmm

QuiteCleanBandit · 01/02/2018 19:40

Oh no mammy dont say sorry !!!
I love learning new words for things

DH always serves enormo meals which puts me straight off !

Wolfcub · 01/02/2018 19:41

18 in home bargains. Mostly cleaning stuff. I’ve made myself poorly trying to wash the kitchen walls and cupboard tops and I’ve only got a tiny bit around it. ☹️ We took the blind down today ahead of New one coming tomorrow and it’s let a lot more light in and showed just how awful and grubby the walls are so I’ve been trying to sort it out and fear I’ve just made it worse.

Em perhaps the photos don’t do it justice and it will be better in real life. The garden looks good.
