lifelongfrugaleer · 23/01/2018 21:08

That's a good chunk of money shoop.
Oh exciting catface. Sell, sell, sell. It won't be too bad with rellies and puts you in a better position

Laska5772 · 23/01/2018 21:13

fingers crossed you get the price you want .. ,

cag well done on maintaining..

adorabell sounds v. stressful..

Loveabaconsandwich · 23/01/2018 21:21

Sounds so tough adora and so hard for your DH too Flowers

shoop we’re all cheering you on with paying down those store cards.

Great news on the flat catface . Moving is so stressful. Will you more in with your parents? They sound amazing btw. You and DS will be so spoilt!

Laska5772 · 23/01/2018 21:28

I want to make a cup of tea and go to bed but am descaling the kettle!! I know how to live Grin

Laska5772 · 23/01/2018 21:33

shoop yes . clear the cards with most interest first (and destroy them after ).. If you can get a 0% card transfer all money onto that , set direct debit for slightly more than the minimum. and if you can afford more then also pay that off as soon a you can..

Look for Talkinpeace's advice on paying off debt on the money threads ,. she is really good on paying off debt..

Laska5772 · 23/01/2018 21:40

shoop Here is Talk1npeace 's thread on paying off debt .

It looks like she has changed her name slightly .. (often does! ) Anyway what Talkin doesn't know about debt control ain't worth knowing ! (and shes really nice too! , I've met her)

Laska5772 · 23/01/2018 21:45

N,o its TalkinPeace again now !!

ShoopShoop · 23/01/2018 21:51

Thanks Laska - that's really helpful. Thanks

Also thanks love and life for the cheerleading Wink

I've become weirdly obsessive about updating my debt spreadsheet of doom I clearly need to get out more and it's quite satisfying seeing a (small amount of) progress.

Still got a long way to go. 3 more store cards and other credit cards too. I haven't spent on the CC's for months so they are gradually coming down. I just hadn't applied the same discipline to the store cards ConfusedBlush

Fluffycloudland77 · 23/01/2018 22:06

She always keeps it recognisable but ever so slightly different.

AuditAngel · 23/01/2018 22:09

I know the iron is expensive, but with 5 in the house we have a lot of ironing. Our cleaner does it and the filter cartridges don't get changed. This iron is similar to the last one (but cheaper) and I always buy the warranty for irons as my cleaner kills them! The last one got swapped on the warranty, so the £25 for 3 years cover on a £105 iron is definitely worth it in our house.

I wanted an iron with high wattage and a large water tank. This one fitted the bill, it was a brand I've had before and is a good heavy weight.

Laska. The cost of inkjet cartridges is the reason we bought the Eco tank printer

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 23/01/2018 22:15

Hi all late sign in, managed another Nsd but the window cleaner has been so owe him £10.

Had stressful day as dd has an infection in her finger which required lancing 😣 nightmare and feel quite exhausted by it all. The good news it that her finger was looking slightly better tonight....

need I like your style 😉

snuggly I really feel for you with twins, would a nanny or cm work out cheaper? I feel the government should help parents of multiple births more really.

love that sounds positive.

em sounds like things are going to move pretty quickly! People who live with dogs sometimes become immune to the smell I think...

AdoraBell · 23/01/2018 22:16

Well done Cag on your weight and Cagletini weight gain 👍

Well done Shoop and keep going. I’ll always remember the feeling I had when I got a CC startement showing they owed me £10 😁

Thanks everyone. DH is away tonight. I’m shattered so I’m off to bed.

Will try to look in tomorrow.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 23/01/2018 22:17

Oh and re printers I have always had terrible luck with them but have been reliably informed that laser printers are the way to go, I'm saving up for one.

Laska5772 · 23/01/2018 22:29

I dont use our home printer much ( hence not having replaced the cartridge,) . but the proper ones for it do seem cheaper than they were previously ( mines a Canon).
Eco Tank look good audit but I dont think id use it that much..

However since both DH and I use our work ones ( ummm!) ,the usage going forward on this one will be one of those things i will find out when i leave work ... .

I wish work would hurry up and produce their 'going forward' budget plan .. then i will know what I am doing about leaving.. I should know in the next couple of weeks anyway .. but If i have to resign instead of being made redundant ill have to do 2 months notice .. ( sadly I dont imagine they will give me 'gardening leave',)

Wolfcub · 23/01/2018 22:32

Evening all

catface House 2 souds interesting and good news on the potential offers

Dh and I have done a swap so I am now away with work and tucked up in my hotel bed. Forgot to get a receipt for dinner so can’t claim that back annoyingly.

Laska5772 · 23/01/2018 22:32

DH does the ironing around here! (his stuff , i rarely buy things that need ironing for me) .. .I have some summer things that do - things like linen shirts and cotton skirts . other wise not much..

Cagliostro · 23/01/2018 22:48

Aw thanks :) feel quite positive about losing more now that I’m back in control (well sort of), 😳 Needed that boost today as I’m outrageously anxious today for some reason. 🤔

Meh. Time for bed.

Nearly time for thread 3 I see 😱
