Spent today absolutely dying of a hangover, worst one I have had in years. Raging because I had loads to do and haven’t done any of it. Have started my application for new job, it’s one of those situations where I’m almost sure I wouldn’t take it even if I got it, but it will be useful interview expertience and interesting to see how another place works if I do get called to interview.
Haven’t left house today - turns out having a massive hangover is a perfect way to achieve an NSD....
Tomorrow I work 0845-2300 but have 2 hour break and need to bring a jacket into be dry cleaned after I brushed my teeth in my work suit and managed to get toothpaste all over myself ... apart from that no Hmmplanned spends.

Cagliostro · 22/01/2018 00:29

Evening all. Just settled Cagletini so off to sleep hopefully but I’m all headachy and blarg. Been an ill sort of weekend which is pants as it was DH’s birthday today, but we did manage a nice quiet day with family round for games - wolf DSS brought round Small World which I’d chosen him for Christmas, it’s pretty good and he loves it so I’m feeling quite smug :o

lifelongfrugaleer · 22/01/2018 08:12

No idea who catface is. ..

Nsd today except usual activities I don't count.

Actually that's a lie £60 milk tonight, thick end of £200 child care and still need to pay dance which is £250 but that will be tomorrow

Mummycatface · 22/01/2018 08:14

laksa dsis is doing really well. Exbil signed a couple of bits of paperwork the other day - not all though - and said to her he thinks he’s made a mistake. She told him he has. Grin she’s signed everything she has to and the ball is well and truely in his Court. He wants his money. But won’t get it until the transfer is done. The longer he stalls the longer he waits.

But for her all good. Bank have said she can take things on in her own name. She can afford it. She’s in a good place. We’ve bought her some things for her birthday (in Feb) that she wanted when he was around but he didn’t like so wouldn’t “let” her have so that’ll cheer her up. And she’s more friendly with ds too. She sat with him on her lap for about an hour yesterday. Until he tried to eat her scarf and then sicked a little. He was then handed back rather swiftly. Haha!

Today’s jobs - nursery application needs posting together with a cheque for £395. Eek.

Post office to post eBay sales.

Finish laundry.

Sell Moses basket. Or try to.

Cagliostro · 22/01/2018 08:52

Cagletini didn’t wake up till 7.15! Yay! Now hopefully if I can shift this headache Hmm I can have a decent day, lots to organise, forms to fill in etc... :o

Fingers crossed for viewings Catface !!

Laska5772 · 22/01/2018 10:08

Hate that bil wouldnt 'let' your DS have things she liked.. sounds like she is def better off without him..

LonelyOversharer · 22/01/2018 11:02

Hey catface the "I think I've made a mistake" translates into "the ow didn't work out/it isn't greener overthere". Your sister sounds like she had an escape, so to speak. She also sounds very sorted.

Well, after 19 minutes on hold I spoke to hmrc, the lady called me "madam" and sounded pissed off with her lot probably a lot of stupid calls, like mine anyhow, she had to send me out a new id, to link me to my old account. So that may take 10 days... and I bet it doesn't just work. Why didn't I do this in september???

Milk was free as I used my co-op card. Travis perkins was not free. Timber for a floor in dp's bit of the shed, tonne of sand etc £116 (dp gave me £50, so was £168 really). Sigh. Absolutely necessary.

SnugglySnerd · 22/01/2018 14:05

Sorry I've not been keeping up very well. It's been a hard couple of weeks. Nothing major just an accumulation of things have happened and I feel worn down by it all. I don't really feel like talking about any of it at the moment. I'm sure I will but I think I need some processing time.

Our budget has gone seriously wrong this last week too but hopefully we can get back on track soon.

PollyShelbyLifeCoachServices · 22/01/2018 14:59

Cag, you have my sympathies, i too have the headache, sore throat eye hurting blurry...is it a thing? NSD, can't move off settee to be honest, work will be fun tomorrow, not...

PollyShelbyLifeCoachServices · 22/01/2018 15:02

Hope you feel better soon snuggly, life just gets in the way of being frugal and living sometimesFlowers

lifelongfrugaleer · 22/01/2018 15:03

If you want to snug we will be here to listen. Look after yourself though and don't be too hard on yourself about the budget. These things happen.
. School rang as ds has a headache. Hmm maybe a day off tomorrow. NHS direct day not to worry so I won't for now

lifelongfrugaleer · 22/01/2018 15:04

Good luck with the viewing. Your dsis does sound better off without him. He should have thought about it before he made his 'mistake'

SnugglySnerd · 22/01/2018 15:13

Thanks. I'll be OK. I think I need a good cry and then to plan something nice to look forward to!

Cagliostro · 22/01/2018 15:26

FLUFFY I HAVE FILLED IN MY BUS PASS FORM! 😁🎉

Post office in the Coop should be open before taekwondo so will send it (it’s already sealed and addressed). WOOOOO. I had to phone up as well to check something but it’s all good.

WreckTangled · 22/01/2018 15:35

Snuggly hope you're ok Thanks

The dc are going to a friends for dinner. I'm pretty excited at the prospect of going home to NOONE! And not having to rush from work to pick them up.

needastrongone · 22/01/2018 16:09

snuggly, I am sorry stuff is getting you down at present. You don't need to tell us anything. Hoping things pick up.

em, your sister sounds as savvy as you, your parents obviously did something right. Good to see self esteem high in women.

cag go dd2!! You are really doing bloody well you know.

I'm a bit pissed off today. I feel like I've done every frugal thing right this month and then the washing machine blows up. Glass half full is that the money I've carefully saved will cover it, but feels like I've been 'cheated'. God knows why. I just worked so hard to save this money.

£5 Amazon on 6 bottles of Method hand cleaner, the Aldi stuff I bought made DD's hands swell and chafe badlyShock

Also ordered a fleece with our company logo on, as we were ordering stuff for our guys. This is fashion death I know (em, laska, fluffy turn away know) but I am so so cold at the minute. This is a company cost though.

Fluffycloudland77 · 22/01/2018 16:28

Cag I am so pleased for you! You will be so much better off now. I bet you spend £50 a month on your bus fares at least. Do you have to re-apply every year?.

£2.50 work supplies.

lifelongfrugaleer · 22/01/2018 16:45

A fleece! Is it for mucking out in? Grin. frugal Though as free advertising.

Mammy I've just signed back up to RH £4.99 per month.

needastrongone · 22/01/2018 16:51

A fleece would be glamorous for mucking out, I usually have a onesie on and wellies. To be fair, I was hoping DH would let me have a onesie with a logo at work but he drew the lineGrin

Fluffycloudland77 · 22/01/2018 16:53

I wear thermals September to April, I'm not one to talk.

I did some matched betting, £7.93 up after the Swansea match later.

Free bahlsen choc biscuits on checkout smart in Tesco. Ends tomorrow.

LonelyOversharer · 22/01/2018 16:54

snuggly Flowers and hugs. I hope you are all well. Don't worry about telling us anything, but we're all here for you xx

Had to buy fuel. £20 necessary to get home. And £90 parent pay, topping up lunch accounts and last bit of DofE (that I honestly had forgotten about).

Arses. So my "no spend week" is so far at £226. Honestly, I bloody give up!
