Shopping in person is definitely a route to accidental spending isn't it? I thought that having easy access to online shopping was bad, but walking round actual shops seems to be even worse. Clearly the answer is to stay at home and stop spending money on having an internet connection. LOL!

mammymammyIRL · 11/01/2018 12:06

em I would be like that too.

When things are going well I don't even open the sweet press in our house, not bothered by it but if I'm unwell or have a hard time I'm like a horse in it's nose bag with that press Grin

I was very good at Christmas until ds got chicken pox and I was up by night with him and tired & craving rubbish

ememem84 · 11/01/2018 12:14

sunny absolutely. If I’m Having a bad day at work, I tend to wander round the shops. Usually come back with something.

I thought I’d Do more internet shopping whilst on mat leave (given how easy it is) but so far not much (unless we need it).

ann the riding lessons are my essential. It’s expensive at £27 an hour but for me it’s a stress relief. An hour or so on the pony an hour racking up untackong grooming etc. I need that space mentally. I’ve told dh that unless we are absolutely struggling for money there’s no way in hell I’d give up those lessons.

Ds is in a funny mood today. Very shouty. He’s definetly found his voice.

I’m sorting things for charity shop. Must take them tomorrow.

Just had dh on the phone. He’s suggested that we “make a plan” to sell the flat. I thought we had. He’s also told me off for bringing more things into the place. Not entirely sure what I’m meant to have brought in....

Cag, yes I'm afraid I secumbed to a moleskine diary. I believe the layout is week one side and a page for notes the other so it will be perfect. I chose the Berry colour rather than my usual black, am quietly looking forward to it.

I do like the sound of the seven veg sauce, must have a go.

needastrongone · 11/01/2018 13:13

em, nothing like a pony snuggle to make you feel better. Smile

My stress relief is running. I'm not the same without it and better always for doing it. I went 6 years without it, and I now realise how tough that was.

Fluffycloudland77 · 11/01/2018 14:08

Ann There's a Burger King app with discounts on it, quite good ones too.

QuiteCleanBandit · 11/01/2018 14:21

mammymammyIRL · 11/01/2018 15:00

Aargh went back searching the thread and lost my post Angry

Got refund from Groupon Goods - straight forward, printed out return label and sent back on 22 Dec and got refund today. Living Social giving me the run around though, avoiding emails, not replying, restarting the process grrrr

Having ordered groceries two weeks in a row from Supervalu, one using first time discount code, one bulking order to €150 to get free delivery, I've been debating Aldi next week and SuperValu following week, however an email from them might just have swung me. €17.50 off €150 order next week and free delivery over €75 for the following week.

QuiteCleanBandit how dare they HmmGrin

mammymammyIRL · 11/01/2018 15:03

Moleskine Diary looks nice em look what you've started you enabler you Smile but I'm not buying, if I still want it in February I'll shop around then.

mammymammyIRL · 11/01/2018 15:04

Annwithnoe · 11/01/2018 15:05

People are wierdmammy
My life is not that interesting !

QuiteCleanBandit · 11/01/2018 15:29

Ann Im considering it !Wink

mammymammyIRL · 11/01/2018 15:29

Annwithnoe First time customers get €15 off their first order, any delivery costs €5 but is free for those over €150. Today's email had subject Operation Transformation made easy & save €17.5! it contained two voucher codes one for €17.50 off delivery for next week on order over €150 and other one for free delivery the week after over €75. I don't know if they're account specific or if email was sent to all on file with same discount code but HughLauriesStubble might be able to answer that, did you get a similar email today?

HughLauriesStubble I find Lidl more expensive than Aldi and would visit it infrequently. I'm happy with the value so far from SuperValu but dh isn't as impressed. Seeing as it's me that does the grocery shopping 95% of the time, I'll decide where we go from here Grin
Welcome to the thread! Great to have a few Irish people on board taytocrisps annwithnoe and HughLauriesStubble CremeEggThief is also Irish but living in UK

mammymammyIRL · 11/01/2018 15:30

quite it must be more interesting than their own Grin

Cagliostro · 11/01/2018 15:35

Page four already I see!😂 Have been reading while waiting for appt (DD saw an occupational therapist, really helpful session) and now feeding baby while the others go get tap shoes.

That veg sauce looks much like my staple, I just bung in what we have and blend it to sneak loads of veg into DS. I sometimes add red lentils but have to be careful not to do too much as it changes the texture. The sauce is doubly useful as I can even sneak a bit of tuna in there when mixed through pasta.

Just got a voicemail from the author I typed/edited for a couple of years ago. Her new manuscript is ready for me. Yay!

Agree about emotional spending and eating... Definitely both here, and generally needing 'stuff' around me so I'd say I'm emotional clutterer too!

oh hello!! ... a new thread while I was off elsewhere on the internet! Nothing to report here ( thats good ) . but I too havent spent anything in the Hush or any other sale - for once! Grin. I ordered something and it went back..

Strangely . now that I do have money in my account from my pension payoff. iI am more reluctant to spend .. Its like I cannot see that sum go down.. ( Its for my campervan )

I do need to find a 'home ' for it though.. have been looking for some decent savings accounts but sadly not much out there .

Ive been offered an interview for the job i applied for before Christmas!! I only applied if you remember because I was bored in the office one day (yeah i know... bonkers) ! .. I dont really want the job , so probably will decline rather than time waste . but its nice to think i can still get interviews..

However I want to Retire.. I'm told the budget proposals for our place (local govt) will be out next week. but from the sound of it there's not going to be many redundancies this year .. (which is good of course)

I expect this all sounds a bit odd to some of our new posters.. but I am just hanging on to see if they were thinking of making me redundant before i resigned.. . its a strange way to end a career I know..

I have been looking at Motorhomes again though (and new curtains strangely.. )

Laska5772 · 11/01/2018 15:51

cag Clutter.yes me too!. Ive been looking at Swedish Death Cleaning..( Not as morbid as it sounds!) .. We want to downsize / move sometime in the next 10 years i reckon.. My parents have left it far too late.and are now in their early 90s struggling in a house they should have left years ago ..
