Nice table

Bornlazy · 21/01/2018 19:26

Lots of snow here. Lovely to look at but I am working tomorrow early and am hoping that there is a thaw overnight. Always have the fear that I'll get snowed in.

Fell at the first hurdle and spent a lot at the Boots 70% off sale. I am always astounded at the people with trolleys full to the brim or stacking baskets, it spoils it for everyone else. Anyway I have quite a few birthdays coming up so I bought a few things to give as gifts.

I am trying really hard to stick to a meal plan and am mostly even though I had a takeaway sticking to it.

Seacow that's great that your dd is taking solids well. Hopefully the sleep training will work and you will get a decent sleep.

Wolfcub · 21/01/2018 19:44

wreck that’s a lovely table. Snow has turned to ice here which is a nightmare. Dh had a bad fall on the ice some years ago and is permanently affected by it so we are somewhat nervous when it’s icy.
Made a chicken casserole and dumplings for tea, combined 3 different recipes and a bit of imagination as we didn’t have the ingredients for any one recipe individually. That’s our last meal together as a family until Saturday, on the plus side some meals will be paid for by work ( if my boss ever signs off my Sodding expenses) but inevitably being away from home does involve some spending that can’t be reclaimed and there are no cups of tea if I don’t by them as not one person in the office ever offers when you visit. I can’t live without tea

needastrongone · 21/01/2018 20:28

bandit, you did better than me then, my machine blew up today!! Shorted the house and fizzed.... she turned back on every single digital butter was flashing and wouldn't stop. It's 6 years old and was new as part of a new build home but I'm not bothering repairing

I've splashed the cash on a new Bosch one, the old one was Bosch. It's done 2 kids, 2 dogs, a pony, all our sports activities, DH's minging overalls, at least 2/3 washes a day for all this time. I don't blame it for dying. This is our most important white goods item really. So cnba wasting another week trying to get it repaired. John Lewis are delivering another one Wednesday. And this can come out of savings

LonelyOversharer · 21/01/2018 20:29

totally beside the frugal point, but I'm watching Prince of Thieves on ch5, I know every word to this film, must have watched it 50 times...there are bits in it that I have never ever seen before how is this possible?? I keep calling down to dp, he thinks I'm being silly. I'm just ShockShock

I need to do my weekly figures and pay my adsa cc, but I have overspent this week and don't want to. The lamb from Lidl was very nice indeed. Slow cooked in lamby stock, and added shallots and pearl barley. Then did normal sunday veg.

needastrongone · 21/01/2018 20:29

Wouldn't bother me either life.

Table is lovely wrecked

needastrongone · 21/01/2018 20:29

*when turned back on.

needastrongone · 21/01/2018 20:32

Lonely flapjacks and Moroccan carrot blitz, for lunches tomorrow.

Lonely when my ds were little we used to watch Monsters Inc every day and I think I must have zoned out every time as I was constantly finding bits I swear I'd never seen.

Mummycatface · 21/01/2018 20:50

Hello. Nc here.

Been to dparents for dinner and dsis has given us some dreamies for catface and me some moisturiser she won’t use. Frugal win. I did leave them behind though. Frugal fail. But will collect in the week.

3 of my eBay things sold so will post these tomorrow. Yippee £20 ish made. Woohoo!

needastrongone · 21/01/2018 20:52

mammymammyIRL · 21/01/2018 21:00

mammymammyIRL · 21/01/2018 21:04

Life ds who should be in bed by now is dining on one of my 99c protein quark pots. See mammy there's a person running on the lid Grin

needastrongone · 21/01/2018 21:09

mammy, never wears a suit, doesn't own one. Doesn't believe you can run a company unless you know every machine inside out and are still prepared to get your hands dirty on site. If there's a breakdown and all our engineers are busy, DH will get the overalls on and go do it. He will go down into the works tomorrow when it's freezing and fix machines with the rest of the guys. He could easily stay in the office. That's why the engineers will always go the extra mile for him, he's their boss, but he's their equal too iyswim?

How's the patient?

Mummycatface · 21/01/2018 21:25

Dammit. Thought my nc would have you all fooled.

In all seriousness I think mils been online stalking me. Luckily all of my more contentious threads have been under various nc. Phew.

mammymammyIRL · 21/01/2018 21:27

Definitely makes sense need we always know when our boss is going out to a meeting as he has a clean jumper & chinos & shoes on compared to his usual rough wear Grin

She's doing ok, has a dry tickly cough now just from lying on couch so I'm going to prop her up in bed to ease pressure on her throat, she didn't like the strepsils which really helped me & didn't appreciate the spoon of honey i just administered either Smile hopefully it doesn't keep her awake. Gotta wake her at midnight for last dose of antibiotic for today Sad

SnugglySnerd · 21/01/2018 21:41

NSD but went out and left the gas on all afternoon so that wasn't frugal. At least it didn't burn the house down.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 21/01/2018 21:55

Evening all ☺ Busy day at home in the end, lots of cleaning and made a start of removing the thousands of stickers from dds bed 😥 seriously regretting letting dd cover the bed in them! !

Had an argument with dd about how little she does around the house and we have to come to an agreement hopefully that will mean she helps a bit more... we will see!

Nsd at least.

And another £45.5just spent on curtain poles.. ( curtains are so expensive.....) .

Dunelm sale 30% off and also Quidco 5% ..So better than the £130 that John Lewis wanted for similar ..We have a big Dunelm here but the daft thing is they dont deliver to store.. weird..

Hope they work with new curtains which are eyelet and our old poles are two thin /wrong colour .. Once Lounge all done i will post a photo!!

Mummycatface Spotted Grin.. How is Dsis doing?

Laska5772 · 21/01/2018 22:09

Snuggly .. oops.. I have been known to do that with our gas oven and come home to find kitchen toasty.. but luckily so far not a problem . I once shared a house and one housemate was for ever leaving the overhead gas grill on .. Hmm

Laska5772 · 21/01/2018 22:10

I want Snow !! (waaaaah! not fair!)

TheDuchessofDukeStreet · 21/01/2018 23:52

Love, yes it felt very good. It was nice to be organised too, and have the benefit of advanced tickets, no nasty surprises.

Meadow, yes, it felt like a first date! We go so little as we both prefer documentaries to fiction. But we really enjoyed the evening out, more so than a takeaway meal, for example.

Have made the sandwiches for tomorow and ironed. Pasta and bolognaise for dinner. Must bake for Dp's lunches, he say he is tired of flapjacks and cereal bars. Time for banana bread baked in bun cases.
