Not a nsd in the end. Dd just lost tooth number 12. That'll be £1

Laska5772 · 16/01/2018 18:17

Love can we see a picture of the sofa ? I love our 'new' one still!
spendy.. I am keeping the Hush sale item.. a jumper which was still £85 Blush (reduced from £125 )but its so gorgeous ..

I also a spent £37 in Laura Ashley... a black formal dress reduced from £90 to £27 (sadly I keep finding myself having to go to funerals these days .. )... and a top reduced from £45 to £10

Dinner was a super-frugal bowl of veg - mainly cauliflower- with a little cooked chicken on top and some h/m curry/ yoghurt sauce. was yum .. I was hungry (on diet) so have already scoffed ..almost up to my daily allowance so must not eat anything else this evening ..

I can well remember the days of going to the loo with baby/ toddler.. I still cant go on my own a lot of the time because the cat insists on following me ! He is here now on my desk again. Snoring ...

Snowing where Wolf?.. it has turned cold even this far south, but we dont often get snow..

Wolfcub · 16/01/2018 18:27

Oop north Laska, I’m on my way back from London to Yorkshire. I think if I see anothe frantic Facebook post I may scream, I drove back from London in the horrendous snow so it can’t be that bad. My DF jusy called to say it’s taken an hour and a half from our house to theirs (normally 10 mins) and he had to abandon his car and walk. He is a very good and confident driver so that’s a bit concerning although, as I suspected, he says it’s more other idiots on the road than the road itself that’s the problem

Loveabaconsandwich · 16/01/2018 18:45

Sofa laska

When I went back to work I struggled to remember to shut doors when going to the loo as I was so used to having a toddler wandering in and out

ShoopShoop · 16/01/2018 18:46

Forgive me frugaleers for I have sinned....spendy day today despite me confidently stating it would be a NSD yesterday.

£70 nespresso pods (I know, I know 🤦‍♀️)
£29 M&S food. I had a £15 voucher and went a bit mad)
£18 wool roving for my needle felting hobby

To redeem myself I have listed 15 things on eBay. Took flipping ages 🙄

Mmmm now I want pizza and garlic bread for tea em

Taytocrisps · 16/01/2018 18:54

Is anyone else finding it confusing having two frugal January threads - the no spend one and this one? I've nearly posted on the wrong thread once or twice.

Laska5772 · 16/01/2018 19:00

Tayto I posted my kitchen picture on the other one..twice!! {blush} luckily MN were v. understanding and removed it

Laska5772 · 16/01/2018 19:00

..twice Blush

Laska5772 · 16/01/2018 19:02

ooh that's nice and snuggly looking love ..good price too ! Will it take long to arrive?

Loveabaconsandwich · 16/01/2018 20:07

Delivery in four weeks laska. It is very comfy- we’ve been to the shop twice to try it out. Whilst we’ve been thinking about buying it reduced in price by £200 too

MoneyWhatMoney · 16/01/2018 20:22

Love that sofa looks lovely. I think it's worth spending on some things (we spent an extortionate amount on our 2 sofas and bed).

I spent £10 on cleaning supplies and £4 on lunch (very disorganised morning).

Thank you to whoever posted about cashback on a hire car. We're going away for a few days soon and will be hiring a car so I need to set that up.

Can someone explain the daily mails / nectar points thing to me please? Am I missing something?

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 16/01/2018 20:29

Popped into tescos when dd was at her drama group and ended up spending £23 😣 that was cat biscuits, some cleaning stuff on offer and some summer bulbs also on offer.

Realised the other day I forgot to put Dec millage in so annoying!

There's an offer on the nectar app, buy a daily mail & log into the app, select the offer to link your nectar account to a mymail account.

Enter the numbers etc.

Get £5 in nectar vouchers.

I got two so I could do his nectar card too.

lifelongfrugaleer · 16/01/2018 20:54

Yes but it means buying the daily mail......

£3.80 fitness. Want going to go but got the chance to so did.
Have to get a few bits from Morrison's tomorrow lunch, maybe if I can be arsed. No snow hear except the odd flurry. Then it's gone.

lifelongfrugaleer · 16/01/2018 20:55

Nice sofa.
How much coffee do you get for £70? If it's nice and cheaper than take away then why not as long as it's budgeted for

AuditAngel · 16/01/2018 20:59

NSD. Didn't achieve much at work today, except telling lots of bosses they need to do better.

Karate tomorrow £10, plus need to fill the car, but can reclaim that

MoneyWhatMoney · 16/01/2018 21:00

Thanks Fluffy

Laska5772 · 16/01/2018 21:11

Just saved £62 on our house buildings and contents insurance ..£247 quoted from Aviva and will get £42.50 Quidco cashback on that ! This includes accidental loss of high value items outside the house . (but not emergency cover ) ..

This is the third time I have found Aviva to be the best deal for hose insurance in the last year , I have also bought insurance for the house DH lives in all week working away and also for DS flat from them .. all through Quidco so already have has around £80 back on those deals ..They pay up quite quickly also .

John Lewis insurance has £85 cashback on it today , but i didn't get as good a price from them as Aviva.

money it was me who said about cashback on car hire .. again through Quidco . We have been getting around 9% the last few times.. usually go with Avis.. they take about 6 months after the hire period to pay up though .

Laska5772 · 16/01/2018 21:13

No way would I buy the daily fail ..

ememem84 · 16/01/2018 21:14

Pizza. Garlic bread. Lemonade (icy cold) and sweet potato fries.

Ds was handed over to dh the minute he came home. It’s been a long day.

Ds has had his bath. Dh is Now putting him to bed.

Laska5772 · 16/01/2018 21:15

girlie Thats annoying.. can you put your mileage in late? We can do it in 'lumps'

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 16/01/2018 21:22

Life I thought that when my friend was going on about The Sun holidays, I still don't think I could bring myself to buy The Sun even for a cheap holiday!!

Just had a row with dd about decorating her bedroom, apparently she wants to paint the ceiling and doors as well Hmm nope that isn't going to happen!! I bloody hate decorating at the best of times!!

Wolfcub · 16/01/2018 21:26

Above are great, especially when you have a claim. Not so good when they suddenly decide to change their flooding provisions but outside of that we had great service from them across a number of claims.

£19 parking which I can claim back. Last week’s claim has still not been approved or paid yet. I keep making pointed comments to my boss about my overdraft and understanding bank manager!
