Just seeing if I can do snow too!

MeadowHay · 30/11/2017 16:08

Hello everyone. Not properly caught up as there's too much, it hurts my eyes to be on the laptop much now.

DGPig is still very poorly, he has been in and out of the vets all the last few days, DH has taught me how to syringe feed him because he's going to be at his work induction tomorrow so I will have to do all the feeds. I think I can do it now. My parents are coming to spend the day with me too to keep my company and DF is great with sick animals so can help me with DGP. It's so sad to see him so ill, my poor little fluff ball Sad. They are my first ever pets so this is the first time I've ever had a really sick pet so it's a horrible new experience for me Sad. On the plus side he actually wheeked for his pellets this morning for the first time in days although he only managed to eat 2, God love him.

I'm just the same as usual really. I would say the relentless nausea is not as awful as it was, I can see some progress but it is minimal and slow. Some days are worse than others as well so I never know how I'm going to be each day. It is very draining and grim, sigh. I am out of first trimester soon though so I am praying things will start to pick up then. I am finding the hyperemesis support thread in the Pregnancy section useful especially speaking to other women who are much later in their pregnancies who are not so unwell now, makes me feel that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Laska I'm sorry to hear about the horrid situation you are in, just keep doing what you're doing I guess, you are dealing with it really well and rising above it all. Wine

Laska5772 · 30/11/2017 16:21

Cake made and in oven..

Ive just had a great present delivered .. a Cowshed advent calendar from DH. Yay!

I waited ages to get through to Hotel Chocolat .. they cant seem to help me.. Ive got to email it with proof it seems (but its hard to have proof when you dont have an order confirmation ..At least i have got them to cancel my nonexistent chocolate membership they have charged me for twice. Now i just need to try and get my money back .

sigh..

Laska5772 · 30/11/2017 16:50

I've now sent them a very frosty email!! .. The bloke i got on their 'help' line suggested I should send them my bank statement as proof 'as anyone could phone and say they had been charged for something they didn't have' !!!? ShockAngry

FFS!!

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 30/11/2017 17:16

Hello all Smile

No snow here but it is bloody freezing!!

Poor dgp Meadow do they know what the issue is?

LSD £4 on lunch, I had made one but managed to leave in the office when I was out and about

SunnyLikeThursday · 30/11/2017 17:31

Thanks for the snowflakes. Smile I'm not on an app so I don't have those.

I just had a bit of a frugalfail. I was trying to model frugality to ds by showing him how I buy Christmas presents for relatives online and then put the expenditure list into the Christmas page of my spreadsheet.

I had forgotten that I had all his presents listed in detail on the page though, and it turns out he reads very very fast. Ooops. Smile

listsandbudgets · 30/11/2017 17:38

£9.50 on a taxi otherwise nothing. pay day tomorrow. i must remember that this is not an excuse to spend it all at once!

LonelyOversharer · 30/11/2017 18:11

No snow here. Stamps foot.

I went to asda and bought just about everything christmassy they had. Got Jamies 5 things and his christmas book for me cute dresses for dd2 and 3, and a shirt with christmas racoons (who knew!) On for dd1. Just need a gaudy christmas shirt for ds now. Well over £100 Blush

Picked up two ps4 things in argos, got a £10 voucher as spent £103.

Bacon, egg, beans on toast for tea. Easy and quick.

listsandbudgets · 30/11/2017 18:53

Laska - do you have online banking? If so try copying and pasting the transaction into an email. They should be able to tell from their reference number (assuming there is one?) what's going on. They sound a real pain to deal with.

I am having a similar argument with WH Smith who have taken the same blinking transaction 3 times - £21.50 so £64.50 altogher. Thankfully they are being reasonably helpful and even conciliatory but all I want is my money back :)They have also asked for evidence of the transactions but seemed quite happy with cut and paste as above.

Its cold. I'm exhausted and I've just had a letter from school asking for £40 for a trip next term - to be paid next week. It is a two night residential so good value really. We can afford it - I try to put money aside for trips and I sort of knew this one was coming up but was hoping to wait to pay after Christmas :( Bang goes half the unexpected Scottish power refund!

Think my draught excluder is working house is warming up quicker and its noticable.

lifelongfrugaleer · 30/11/2017 19:03

Nsd today thank fuck.
Lovely early leaving gift off my team.
Going to a brand new department in January do don't have to watch my replacement do their job.

WreckTangled · 30/11/2017 19:49

Car sold. Insurance cancelled. Just having a peppermint tea and I think I'll go to bed. Feel rubbish.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 30/11/2017 20:32

Oh no sunny oops!

You alright wreck?

needastrongone · 30/11/2017 20:44

laska, making a ‘positive choice not to go into the whys and wherefores’ is a really important thing to protect our mental health. I’m very much an ‘it is what it is’ person and I think that helps with our resilience.

DF has turned up today in a pickle. He’s 86 next month and about to spend the next 3 weeks travelling Europe and wondering if he can. He does this quite regularly. He knows I deal with DH and his MH daily. We talked a lot, I then gave him a gentle talking to and he’s phoned me tonight excited about his trip. He usually does thisSmile

Spends today were
£50 Ocado.
£15 home bargains.
£10 Holland and Barrett.

needastrongone · 30/11/2017 20:46

We’ve snow in lashings here too life, that lovely about the present.

You okay wrecked chuck?

needastrongone · 30/11/2017 20:47

Take care of yourself lists.

needastrongone · 30/11/2017 20:49

Lord, I’m a ‘must deal with it immediately then it doesn’t pile up’ kind of girl. DH is so the opposite, drives me mad.

needastrongone · 30/11/2017 20:51

pink I assume you have chucks? I’ve got 6 btw, 2 dogs, a pony and now three fish tanks. Smile

LonelyOversharer · 30/11/2017 21:22

We've got too many pets here. Our chickies haven't layed an egg for a month now. I really miss the eggs and loathe buying them. A few of ours are very old ladies now. Hoping they get through the winter.

Fixed the gloves today life will post on to you. I think getting out of that department will do you good.

Our shop has technically shut, but dp has to be there tomorrow for a delivery, 2 customers and two guys to do tests on (hell for leather on the turbos to test their 'zones' or something), so much busier than normal! I'm coming home after assembly.

Pinkpeppermintteaforme · 30/11/2017 21:32

Pmed you need !

Laska5772 · 30/11/2017 21:38

Ive just spoken to my DF .He also bought a Dyson and hasn't been charged for it ..He rang them and they said that it looks like there are quite a few recent orders that have been sent out that they haven't taken the money for.. Oops..bad business for them ..

They told him that they will be contacting people soon. He didn't know that I hadn't been charged either until I spoke to him this evening (I didn't know he'd bought the handheld Dyson, although I'm glad he did , they need it to do their stairs as recently have had a stair lift installed) .
So I'm now going to wait and see if i get an email from them ( My little devil may have won out here for a while ..) ..

Taytocrisps · 30/11/2017 21:39

Major frugal fail. I bought a new top to wear for Christmas and also to wear to my colleague's retirement do tomorrow night. I managed to iron a big hole in it Sad. Not only have I ruined my top but there's a patch of fabric welded onto my iron.

We had tea, coffee and cakes this afternoon, to see our colleague off. I got a bracelet for her and also a One4All Gift card (you can use it in lots of different shops). I also ordered a bouquet of flowers. I didn't specify the colour of the flowers - just said it was for a retirement and I wanted a cheerful bouquet. When I collected it, I discovered that the whole bouquet consisted of yellow flowers -
mostly sunflowers and roses. Now, the flowers are lovely but...... all yellow?

Meadow sorry to hear you're still going through a rough patch and feeling so ill.

needastrongone · 30/11/2017 21:51

Phew, though week with poo with holding dd1 and dd2 waking up everytime I put her down.

Very cheap week. £90 on an Ocado order but got a lot of offers and replaced lots of basics. Dh got a couple of top up shops from Aldi. Bought a coffee while walking with dd2 to get her to sleep (I was bloody freezing!). I bought three Christmas presents for dd2, including a great cotbed sized celular blanket like dd1 has, and a Christmas pudding hat. All considered, needed purchases. Paid the gas and electric bill this week too.

I netted about £600 this month and need to transfer £230 for nursery fees. The rent and council tax go out of my account so I need to ask dh to transfer me more money, I was already in my over draft and don't want anymore direct debits or cards being declined. Dh got his final payment from work so we are not short of money (and really need to set up a joint account) but obviously have to be very careful as he needs to get a new job. In December we will have to pay dd2s nursery fees too and then in January I will be back to full pay, not statutory maternity. We aren't getting each other Christmas presents and have just got dcs a few nice things. I have a horrible constant worry about money. I am taking frugality very seriously!

SunnyLikeThursday · 30/11/2017 22:34

We have lying snow outside and I can hear the sound of a trickling stream, which is actually the constant meltwater pouring through the downpipe. :-)

mammymammyIRL · 01/12/2017 05:23

Em my dm used to put things on kitchen window & then in a burst of tidying sweep everything into a shoebox which then went on her bedroom floor if there were 'visitors' coming & eventually ended up in the attic I don't want to be the same!
