Putting our old car through it's mot today. Hopefully it'll pass have someone interested already

SnugglySnerd · 30/11/2017 08:53

Today should be NSD. Should be. I still need to get some Xmas presents but I don't feel in the zone today!

Have given the kitchen and good clean though. We need a better system for dealing with paperwork instead of letting it pile up on the kitchen work top until we can't use it. I would like to be someone who deals with all posts etc immediately but I will never be that person!

ememem84 · 30/11/2017 09:04

I’m aiming for nsd today but may be a lsd. Am wondering whether I can get a copper bracelet for arthritis which may help my sore hands. Am popping up to see Dm later and there is a chemist in the precinct near their house. Will have a look.

ememem84 · 30/11/2017 09:04

Ds is napping. He wasn’t happpy about bei put in his basket. But he’s napping. Time to shower wash hair out washing on wash up vacuum change bedding drink hot tea

Laska5772 · 30/11/2017 09:06

Thanks for all your kind words.. I am fine. Its sometimes (even though I have lived with this all my life) you do wonder about why things happened dont you and what it would have been like if it hadn't? But as we know so often 'happy families' are often not that at all really underneath..

I did make a positive choice may years ago not to go digging into whys and wherefores.. A lot of family bitterness was created at that time (nearly 60years ago), and I did not want to be part of it . My only relief is that i was really too young to know anything about it at the time ..Actually I think i may have had a lucky escape given the feelings that are still being turned up all thee years later.

The one thing it has done for me (as I was always taught that I should stand on my own two feet).. is given me a strong independent streak .

But of course the prob is that if I do turn out to be a main beneficiary of an unknown (and possibly not much left) sum of money or property it will cause no end of bitterness to some others.. I know it will as I am already being told I should formally 'give up 'any future claims.. My formal response has been that as the person still lives, its inappropriate to speculate and that I wish them the best care that their money can fund and as long a life as possible..

LonelyOversharer · 30/11/2017 09:08

Me neither snugg I put it on the stairs, and then the next one up, etc, until we have a post avalanche (usually with dd3 in it). Then I open and shred. About twice a year.

-2° here. Last day of the shop being open. So I'm making a sign for the door, and we are staying home tomorrow.

I've seen the candles and reed diffuser things in aldi, and posh looking women literally buying 8 or 9 at a time. I stick to branded yankee candles, more common, me.

laska sod them I'm assuming a birth family? can you get your dh to open the emails, so you don't even have to read them? Bollocks to the lot. If you get left any money, honestly, how is that your fault? Our families are the people we love and the little people we make. And don't stop posting here, we all love you x

Laska5772 · 30/11/2017 09:19

Right ,.onto other things.

May I just say what a lovely lot you all are BTW [flowers}.. whoever said up thread that although we started it such is not just about money saving, but has turned into sort of supportive friends group is so right..

Ok I have WWYD dilemma ( and I Do know that i should do BTW.. ) .
This is it :

Its been a week and still neither my Dyson or my Amazon Kindle have been charged for on my CC. Thats a lot of money.. I have them both here..the kindle is registered and working , no emails asking for money ..

I'm not a saint of course and a devil part of me says just 'wait and see' but my angel says i must contact them .. but should i wait another week to see if the charges turn up on my card? .( my devil is poking me hard on the shoulder and grinning i must admit , but it goes against the grain) .

Be kind to me ..but WWYD in this case ? .. Angel or Devil?. I promise no judgements..

However my Hotel chocolat order has n been taken and they've taken another 9.95 for the chocolate club ( which I was going to cancel after the first special offer order ) but i have no chocolate and no email from them confirming my order!!

Is me isnt it? I'm jinxed Grin

SnugglySnerd · 30/11/2017 09:24

I'd contact them Laska. You don't want to end up with a nasty surprise when they finally decide to bill you. You might have spent more money by then iyswim.

Soup cooking for lunch and veg all chopped ready to make risotto for tea.

Laska5772 · 30/11/2017 09:25

Xxxx Lonely Smile .. I aint going anywhere!

Oh and thanks for the unmumsnettey hug mammy that was lovely

LLL I did something far worse the other day.. I managed to post the receipt for my Dyson on the christmas bargains thread .. it had all my personal details on it ! .. ( not my CC number though thank god) . luckily a kind MNetter spotted it and MNHQ got it down in less than 5 mins.. but Oh! my heart went .. Shock

MissingMo · 30/11/2017 09:27

@Laska any claim you have is not through your choice. Don't let horrible people eat your time up by worrying about them. Your time is worth more

Probably will be a nsd today depending of I decide to try and finish my Christmas shopping online or not.
Yesterday was £3 in co op and £50 in Ocado on canned drinks for Christmas.

listsandbudgets · 30/11/2017 09:40

Laska - If nothing has happened by the middle of next week drop them an email to ask what's happening, put the money in a savings account so you don't accidentally spend it and don't do any more about it. If you're as sad as me and check your account every day then you can just transfer it back the day they take it if they do.

As for the the chocolate chase that today. Taking money for none existent chocolate is the work of the devil. With subscriptions, they usually take it a week or so before they send it - very jealous would love a chocolate subscription but my enormous waistline (and my bank balance) say otherwise.

LonelyOversharer · 30/11/2017 10:04

Devil here laska it will be a glitch and you will be charged in the end. They wouldn't have dispatched the goods without taking payment, so it sounds like a cc glitch to me.

Put the money aside, and pay it when it does inevitably show up. But I wouldn't contact dyson or amazon!

SunnyLikeThursday · 30/11/2017 10:12

Thanks 77 That sounds good. Smile

SnugglySnerd · 30/11/2017 10:15

Actually yes what Lonely said is much more sensible!

Pinkpeppermintteaforme · 30/11/2017 10:40

Its snowing❄❄❄
Christmad puds x 3 steaming (for 8 hours) smells and feels very Christmassy !

Cagliostro · 30/11/2017 11:25

£9 bus and a few quid on snacky breakfast as couldn't get Tesco delivery early enough. Doctor appointment went fine, not going on ADs yet as doing OK most days. Leaving the gallbladder for now and have buscopan prescribed in case of another attack.

Today will be staggeringly unproductive I feel.

mammymammyIRL · 30/11/2017 12:05

snuggly we are were also dump paperwork on kitchen countertop people, I joined google drive. I use work scanner and scan all documents the next working day and then shred/burn them after that. I put as much detail into document name as I can and then it's easy to search for them. Some day I'll file them on Google Drive! It's €1.99 a month but entirely worth it to me.

ememem84 · 30/11/2017 12:31

laksa when it snows here everything grinds to a halt and we can’t cope for days. People get thoroughly confused about driving in the snow.

mammy snuggly I’m a throw all paperwork in a basket on the kitchen counter and deal with it never type.

Have come to dms for lunch. She promised bacon mac and cheese. Mmmm.

SnugglySnerd · 30/11/2017 13:00

To be honest if it'ssomething that needs dealing with quickly we'd both forget if it wasn't lying about to remind us!
