When I got to hospital after having contractions all day at home and then finally waters breaking, I told the midwives when I arrived that I felt like I needed to push. They looked at each other, like yeah right. So I got stuck on a bed and made to traipse to the toilet to do a sample in quiet agony. When someone finally bothered to look at me, I got rushed off to delivery! Needless to say, when it was the same when I got there with DD2 I made a bit more of a fuss! Grin

meadow you are wise with the pension. Especially as further down the line you could go part time or have time as SAHM, it will pay to contribute more when you can —and who wants to work until they are 75–

em I think my DDs have had phones dropped on them numerous times. Glad you seem to be finding a morning routine with DH that works

£10 M&S Chinese yum
£31 jumper and socks
£48 on Tesco delivery tomorrow

Laska5772 · 23/10/2017 19:37

place marking . i've fallen off the thread.. just in for quick cag update!! . soup making and finance this evening.
back in a bit x

lifelongfrugaleer · 23/10/2017 19:46

Oh that's a shame cag that things are slow. My experience of induction was super quick but I skipped straight to the water break and oxytocin.
Ds was spontaneous and even quicker.

Em I've dropped all sorts on my 2. Ds will be fine.

£12.50 on Lazer quest. £24 in Tesco on Halloween costume stuff. Dd won't have a bought costume, it has to be home made. White clothes in October anyone? No where!

WreckTangled · 23/10/2017 19:49

Is it too early for bed? I need to get another antibiotic in really. Maybe dh will wake me up when he goes to bed.

Pay day tomorrow so will sort out what I have spare. Ds is getting his hair cut and then we might go to the farm park which should keep them entertained...

Managed a nsd today.

O2 priority is doing pizza express main course and dough balls for £5 which I thought was good. I only ever drink tap water when out anyway.

life ghosty costume? Xxl man tshirt. Mummy costume? Thermals and lots bandages? Thank goodness mine have grown out of dressing up, and ds just won't. I did get dd1 white leggings from amazon prime last year for a hideous school thing (and taught the life lesson of why white leggings should never be worn!) I mean who puts a whole drama class of teenage girls in white leggings?

Laska5772 · 23/10/2017 19:55

Btw has anyone heard from need? I did pm her last week but not heard back .. I hope she is ok ..

lifelongfrugaleer · 23/10/2017 20:39

She doesn't already get her pm laksa.

I've got white ballet tights and dug around the holidays stuff for white shorts. Thank fully pe t shirts are white. I got a hanging ghost decoration in the sale last year and that was the foundation.
For Whitby where it will be cold I've got her a pale grey/ white awful jogger set which looks fine under said ghost.
This spook will just have to wear black sketchers.

Laska5772 · 23/10/2017 20:45

life She doesn't already get her pm Am not sure what you mean?

Fluffycloudland77 · 23/10/2017 21:01

She's on the app & her email is one she's not using so she has no idea it's there.

Or something awfuls happened.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 23/10/2017 21:18

Oh God don't say that Fluffy I am a bit worried about her, will pm as well just incase....

ChristmasSeacow · 23/10/2017 21:22

I'm a bit worried too - I think she'd pop in and say so if just busy. She said her DH was heading for a bad MH patch, hope all is okay

Fluffycloudland77 · 23/10/2017 21:33

I'm a catastrophiser btw.

I probably should of mentioned that before.

Laska5772 · 23/10/2017 21:36

Oh right.fluffy . Yes seacow that's why I pm'd her.. was a bit worried. she does seem like a strong , together person though, but it must be a hard situation .

Cagliostro · 23/10/2017 21:49

Yes I was wondering too as I remember she said DH was having a bad time. Really hope all is ok. I am a catastrophiser too TBH. Maybe busy with pony stuff?

Looks like it will be a section in the next few days if induction fails BTW. She did say in some circumstances they would take a break (even send me home) and then start over, but given the reason for induction she reckons they wouldn't want to risk doing all that again.

ememem84 · 23/10/2017 21:58

Oh cag I hope you haven’t eaten all your snacks...! just hurry up and have that baby would you there’s a love, we’re waiting here 😂😉👶🏻🤣

Oh balls. ds isn’t settling. Luckily I’m in bed and he’s with dh. Catface is with me. She’s easy to settle. A scratch behind the ears and she falls over and purrs and snuggles right in. Wish ds would be that easy.

Tomorrow we have a busy day. Garden centre trip with dsis, then to boots for nappies and formula, then to M&S for fruit and then to the riding shop to look at new hats. I may treat myself to a new one. I was told that I should be replacing mine every 3 years or so. So it’s about time.

I’m gettinf back on the pony next week I think. Just a gentle walk. But getting back in the saddle.

We’ve sorted our budget. Dh reckons we can do all family spends (including mortgage and bills) for £2000 a month. Considering around £1600 of this is non negotiable spends (insurances, service charges, mortgage, bills) it should be doable. Should. We’ll see.

Fluffycloudland77 · 23/10/2017 22:10

Needs Now got half a dozen are you ok pm's & a we miss you come back discount voucher off hush.

Just found a recipe for golden syrup. Looks really cheap & easy to do.

northender · 23/10/2017 22:33

Take care Cag.
Hope need is okay. It's half term in most places too so she could be busy with the dc.
Have had a productive day today and nearly finished the advent calendar for dnephew. Will post a pic from my phone shortly. Just figuring out how to hang it now! No spends and DS is feeling a bit better. He had a temp of 39.2 this morning so I felt vindicated in keeping him off school Grin

Pinkpeppermintteaforme · 23/10/2017 22:39

Spendy day £168 in Aldi Blush
Tbf that included a full set of cream wool thermals (so excited ) Grin and some new waterproof cycling trousers with reflective bits.
They have little reflective dog coats -really want one but I doubt the cat would wear it !
Groceries for 2-3 months, cupboards and freezer stocked.
Lots of things I use had 30/40p off - rapeseed oil was £1.49 so got 4.
Just used their own brand Radox - fine and it was 65p.
Had garlic field mushroom in a brioche bun with goats cheese, red onion ,salad and sweet potato fries.
Big hit with DSs .
Jacket potatos oiled, salted and wrapped in foil and just need to pop slow cooker on in the morning.
Have carved ham, cheese ,salad and various bits to go with tomorrow.
Hope all are ok

Loveabaconsandwich · 24/10/2017 07:08

How are you doing cag?

CollieBobs · 24/10/2017 07:26

Missing need too!

cag my c section was really lovely. I know that sounds weird but the team were quiet and calming. Was painfully and slowly walking on the beach 3 days after (not far though! Just enough to feel fresh air on my face). For me, personally, it was a nicer experience than having a steroid injection into the hip joint. Halloween Smile did struggle with the first shower & toilet trip post surgery though. My scar still tingles sometimes especially when I'm hormonal. So weird!

It won't be a spendy day for me but I'll be loitering around for a while so may buy a coffee. Then bus on the way home! I may receive some pretty awesome news today but maybe not Blush here's hoping!
