Very annoying -its the last thing you need right now Flowers

Queenofthedrivensnow · 17/10/2017 11:04

Asda bedding is great it's better than ikea. I bought a really cheap set with butterflies on its non iron and looking fine after a year.

I have spent £35 on food shopping for the week aldi and Morrisons for the bastard fruit winders only.

Laska5772 · 17/10/2017 11:08

Cag I have found Ponden Homes to have really good deals on bedding duvets towels etc if you have one near you? We kitted out DS flat really cheaply and its all fine a year on

LonelyOversharer · 17/10/2017 11:21

Do you think I have a problem Blush ?? This isn't even all of it. The big boxes are going into the storage unit, the more used stuff who am I kidding will go in the craft shed, by and by. All the loose stuff needs to be sorted into boxes. Dp has just looked, "Ffs darling, you've got a lot of wool... issues!" Was his comment.

I did find the unfinshed guys in the other photo. No idea when I did them, 6+ years ago at least! Answers on a postcard.

Have found a ball of super soft cotton merino, going to knit a tiny cardi to calm my nerves!

Pinkpeppermintteaforme · 17/10/2017 11:47

Strike out faaaail !

Pinkpeppermintteaforme · 17/10/2017 11:52

Are you on Rav Lonely?

Cagliostro · 17/10/2017 11:54

Ohhhh 😭😍
Mums at sports club got together for a collection for baby and a lovely card signed saying how much difference sports club has made to their kids. How lovely is that? Feel a lot bit sniffly! And super super proud of DH ❤️❤️❤️

SunnyLikeThursday · 17/10/2017 12:02

Lonely I love your wool stash. It looks as though you really enjoy your hobby. I have epic trouble getting jumpers. I wish I could knit like that.

SunnyLikeThursday · 17/10/2017 12:16

We're having our lead water pipe dug out today. I'm trying to get all the lead out of our house in case it is causing trouble for ds. We had all the paint out that we could two summers ago and it's the pipes now.

LonelyOversharer · 17/10/2017 12:59

I am pink but I only use it to find patterns and look at what other people have made from the patterns I fancy. I use a great app "dirty needles" to scroll through hundreds of pics, like a very concentrated pintrest search!

I've never been brave enough to post pics of finished garments, or put on my own patterns. I should really. Never put a pic up on pintrest either, dd1 puts her artwork up all the time.

Queenofthedrivensnow · 17/10/2017 14:29

The woolly snake is my favourite. Don't suppose you take commissions? I need a judge!

GrumpyMcGrumpFace · 17/10/2017 14:45

I am sorry to just jump in on your thread, but was searching and got your comment Sunny. We found out recently that we have lead pipes in our house. Worried that this is not good for us Sad - are you having lots taken out and does it cost a lot?

GrumpyMcGrumpFace · 17/10/2017 14:46

I am so sorry, very rude Blush

Fluffycloudland77 · 17/10/2017 15:02

It's not rude at all Grumpy. It's not a clique, it's a co-operative of ideas.

Aldi are doing brushed cotton sheets. I hear they are beyond cosy Cag

I'm loving bastard fruit winders. I had to google them. They look revolting but I can imagine to a child they are the best thing ever. Like pop tarts.

Lonely You should be selling knitting stuff not bike stuff. It's your passion.

£1 Aldi bread & Mayo
£1 organic soya milk. The non organic one has one of my allergens in them.

Queenofthedrivensnow · 17/10/2017 15:06

We have brushed cotton sheets for the dds from dunhelm
They are lovely

ememem84 · 17/10/2017 15:07

fluffy pop tarts!!!! Yaaaas. I love pop tarts. I’m feeling v sleep deprived today. No one would care if I ordered my body weight in pop tarts would they?!?! dh might should have ordered body weight in pop tarts when pregnant. More pop tarts that way!

ememem84 · 17/10/2017 15:09

£2.10 post office posting grandmas birthday present. Birthday tomorrow it won’t arrive in time. Oops.

Ds was fussy all morning. Sigh. He’s sleeping now. I should probably be napping too. But have shit to dooooo.

MeadowHay · 17/10/2017 15:15

It's lovely and sunny here and our open plan living/dining/kitchen area has huge windows all around in a semi-circle so it's absolutely lush and warm in here. 24 degrees celcius according to the thermometer though I still feel a bit chilly as I have a bit of a cold which is making me feel freezing all the time Sad.

Job interview went well I think, although after a lot of thinking I reckon if I get it I will turn it down anyway but we'll see I guess. She said it could be like 10 days or so before I hear anything.

Spent about £8ish in Costa on a cake each for DH and I and a hot drink each with my lunch. I booked the afternoon off work so I could go to the job interview so I feel weird being home now. I might go for a nap in a bit as I'm feeling under the weather.

SunnyLikeThursday · 17/10/2017 15:31

GrumpyMcGrumpFace thanks for asking. I'm not sure what that bit of the work is costing because we're having new slabs laid as well and that is costing £2.4k. We've hit a snag because the legal minimum depth for the water pipe is 75cm and there is a sewage pipe at 70cm. I'm getting another building firm in for a second opinion. Much suspense.

The bottom line though, is that a trench 75cm has to be dug, and then a new plastic pipe connected and drilled through the wall of the house underground by a plumber. It's a standard job around here because all the houses are donkey's years old.

Do join us by the way, if you'd like to. It's very nice here and sharing ideas solves a whole boat load of problems.

MeadowHay · 17/10/2017 15:35

Eeek booked my first appt with the early access midwifery service, it's not for a few weeks though and it is at a famous local hospital which I will not name but if anyone's seen One Born Every Minute and knows vaguely where I am from you will know what I'm talking about Grin.

GrumpyMcGrumpFace · 17/10/2017 15:38

Smile thank you Sunny Eek, hope you can get it sorted out at not too much cost/disruption. I should ask around to see if there are other houses in the same position. So do you have lead pipes in your house too to remove, or is it just the connection to the outside? Sorry if that's a dim question - I really know zero about plumbing.

I might hang in for some good tips on other things too, thank you!! I haven't switched the heating on so far, but dreading it (and we have had fires on in the living room nearly every night, so not really being abstemious). It seems to cost more and more Sad

Cagliostro · 17/10/2017 15:46

Pop tarts are on my post baby food list Blush only for once we're home though (along with pate and Melba toast and Brie and grapes - yes I'm not even allowed grapes ATM!) because they must be mouthburningly toasted. Cold pop tarts don't count.

£60 Asda - small amount of food, king size duvet and one set of cheap bedding (none of the brushed cotton ones appealed) giant bath towels probably still not giant enough and nappies! Getting cab home now as I can't manage the bus with any of that

WreckTangled · 17/10/2017 16:02

I loooove pop tarts. The cinnamon ones are the best by far. I also love Melba toast with pâté mmmm

£7 something in Tesco I’m reduced bread, plums (dd wanted nectarine but they were £3.50!!!), curry for ds’ Diwali party, beans to go with jackets, a box of matchmakers Blush and washing up liquid for work.

The dc are both at a friends so I’m home alone have put some washing on and the jackets in.

WreckCat is after food, anyone else’s cat eating more? He can’t have more because he’s on a diet so has to wait.

Welcome grumpy we haven’t had our heating on either and will wait as long as possible before it does go on.

Fluffycloudland77 · 17/10/2017 16:17

Fluffy cat is beginning to look like an overstuffed soft toy. We've compromised on. 4.5 pouches a day.
