need at least you know it's happening with dh and can steel yourself for it. Sucks though. My dp has just come off his ad's for the first time since I've known him. His behaviour is currently erratic. We shall see if I can cope with him not on them!

seacow take cash! I am hopeless at the shows, and you're going to the biggest! Beautiful hand dyed yarn is my complete downfall, it calls to me. Woolfest is local to me, I try not to go every year.

We are changing our business for sure, but keeping going. I do want to clear some of the stock, as it's just my cash sitting around doing nothing. I think facebook and ebay are the way to go, what a faff.

We are all at the shop today, my parents are on holiday (they have dc on saturdays) so I am going to do a picnic lunch so I don't pop to the coop and spend £20 on a picnic lunch.

em so sensible of dh and the right thing to do. I bet a car would have been nice though!

ememem84 · 14/10/2017 10:02

fluffy dh is an accountant too. He does our budget and food shop etc. He’s way better at saving than me. Although I have got better over the last couple of years.

New car would have been nice but when that happens there will be “words” he wants a hybrid/electric car. I want one that looks pretty. I want one of the new minis. Preferably a blue one. I did joke with dh last night that as my “baby gift” he’s obligated to buy me a new car. I stress I was joking. But he went all wierd about me demanding a baby gift. Apparently he was going to get me something but once everything has calmed down (I was in no way hinting about being hard done by because I wasn’t given a present) and that I had birthday presents didn’t I?!

I may have hit a nerve with that joke.

needastrongone · 14/10/2017 10:07

Fluffy Interesting stuff re the female brewing of yesteryear, makes sense I guess though. I think it's the fact he's been a touch high, this is the crash. Also, a quiet period at work (which he finds difficult to take into the context of a full business year) and the fact that it's getting quite complicated the further business planning and he's feeling a bit trapped in terms of options without massive financial outlay.

Lonely We can ride it out together then, or not! It can be tough going at times living with a person with significant MH issues for sure. Any reason your DP has tried to come of his AD's? Especially with the stresses of business upheaval? Not that you need to answer of course ha!

needastrongone · 14/10/2017 10:11

Shepherds pie

Chicken pasta
Pizza

We’re going to the beach this afternoon.

mammymammyIRL · 14/10/2017 10:20

Of course queen everyone welcome - what brings you here?

mammymammyIRL · 14/10/2017 10:29

Need the wind must have been bad last night cos the road to work was covered with leaves.
I've 3 hours of overtime put in today, luckily I don't have to work on a Saturday too often. Thought dc were coming with me but dh got a bonus half day off so I went by myself Smile would have been horrible to get them up & out at 6.30 this morning.

Spends yesterday €20 on pizza as dds friend & her mom, db and aunt came over

Today gotta pay property tax x2, buy animal feed, do grocery shopping, go to smyths toys with dc - ds has €20 voucher & dd is spending €50 winnings which I'll collect from my db in a few weeks.

For groceries List will be made & adhered to

Queenofthedrivensnow · 14/10/2017 10:36

Hi mammy - single parent struggling here. Going full time next month. Maintenance ropey at best. Want to shop and eat better and conserve more money. Need some thrifty friends. Trying to buy a house in feb

Taytocrisps · 14/10/2017 10:37

I had a rude awakening when my house alarm went off at 9 a.m. Still, could have been worse I guess - could have been 5 or 6 a.m. DH is away so I had to venture downstairs and check each room for intruders and any sign of a break in. No sign of any disturbance.

I bought my first Christmas present on Thursday. It's a Pop Vinyl figure of Dobby from Harry Potter, for DD. She loves Dobby. It was €14.99. I also spotted a lovely hard back book about the locations they used in the HP movies. I might pick that up on pay day.

I've a Tesco delivery coming today - €69.54 including a €7 delivery charge.

DD and I are home alone this weekend so we're going to get a take away pizza as a treat this evening. Really looking forward to it.

I've to iron DD's costumes for her dress rehearsal tomorrow. Not quite sure how I'll get the creases out of this dress (see pic).

Seacow glad you got out for the night and I'm sure you haven't put the nursery worker off kids for life Smile. Enjoy the knitting and stitching show. Sounds like the perfect day out for you.

em that's a huge sum of money you've paid off the mortgage. Well done!

need sorry to hear about DH. You too Lonely.

Queenofthedrivensnow · 14/10/2017 10:55

Taylor if that was me I would wash the dres again and iron it damp

ChristmasSeacow · 14/10/2017 10:56

Sorry about the MH issues for DHs Need and Lonely. I have a close friend struggling with manic depression it and I can see it's hard even from the outside. It must be extremely hard within your own family /marriage. My friend is single so I do worry about him, with no one close at hand day to day.

Tayto I actually got married in a Harry Potter location (that's not why we chose it but it was a bonus for some of our guests, especially the younger ones!) . Pic here

ChristmasSeacow · 14/10/2017 10:57

I agree with Queen about the dress. Welcome Queen, by the way!

ememem84 · 14/10/2017 12:04

Hi queen

seacow wow!!! Pretty!!

tayto it’s a crazy amount isn’t it? But it’s better used being thrown against mortgage than being sat in an account earning little to no interest.

Ds is asleep. He’s been feeding on and of all morning. I guess it’s another growth spurt. Internet says he’ll have another one between 2-3 weeks. He’s 3 weeks on Sunday. So I guess this is it.

Using this time to tidy up a bit. Dh is also napping. Otherwise I’d be hoovering or something. But am folding clothes and working out what clothes I need

Was very strange yesterday when I was shopping. I was browsing and kept finding lovely clothes which would look ace for work. Then I realised that I don’t need “work” clothes until May. So have to change my shopping mindset.

WreckTangled · 14/10/2017 12:21

Argh it’s boiling at the beach and I’m wearing jeans and a long sleeve t shirt Hmm

lifelongfrugaleer · 14/10/2017 13:26

YY to rewashing the dress before trying to iron it.
Feels good to see the mortgage going down though.
Sorry about your dh dp need and lonely.
I spend loads on food too but that's partly due to PPP and fussy people.

Taytocrisps · 14/10/2017 13:43

I'm not sure I can wash the dress because there's a hoop sewn into the skirt to make it stand out. I'm not sure how the hoop would fare in the the washing machine.

mammymammyIRL · 14/10/2017 14:06

Working on a Saturday made me very productive - paid property tax, came home made bolognese & left it into slow cooker to develop, same with chicken curry, made silican chicken, big batch stuffing, stewed apple & prepped for apple jelly later.
We all ate lunch, I wrote shopping List & now am off to do jobs like recycling, battery drop off to Aldi for recycling, library, shopping & trip to smyths with guys.

ChristmasSeacow · 14/10/2017 14:11

Blimey Mammy!

Tayto, in that case I would get a cloth (light cotton tea towel or similar), dip in water and squeeze out well. Lay it over the dress and iron it through the damp tea towel, re-wetting the tea towel as needed.

LonelyOversharer · 14/10/2017 14:13

Damp spray then try to iron, possibly on a towel + duvet cover on a table?? tayto good luck!

My dp isn't depressed per se, he had a brain injury 20+ yrs ago, and I don't think he's wired quite right now. He's coming off the ad's as to be blunt they seem to have put bits of him to sleep. He isn't bothered (going on for years) but I am. Tbh I don't think anything will change. The gp wants to see if he can manage without ad's before putting him (I assume) more a more expensive alternative with different side effects!

Are new baby presents a thing? Crap, I'm owed some stuff then! I always saw my baby as my prize. Maybe dh has been getting gip from workmates em ?

Would love to be at the beach right now wreck typical crap autumn day here.

mammymammyIRL · 14/10/2017 14:16

Meal plan
Tonight spaghetti bolognese & last of pack of garlic bread
Tomo roast turkey crown, stuffing & veg & mash
In no particular order:
Pulled pork baps/pittas & sweet potato fries
Chicken curry & rice
Sicilian chicken & pasta
Fish & chips with beans

Laska5772 · 14/10/2017 14:22

Welcome queen we are a chatty bunch..

unexpected quiet day here. was going to host my parents and bro today but they cancelled at last min.. all ok but they are having a little 'drama' of the domestic kind so am glad not to be in middle of it.. its basically that they are old and DF is too over protective of DM (92)..

Sometimes its just best to let them get on with it. but the up shot is that I have a load of food that I now need to do something with.. was going to be roast duck, roast potatoes etc for 6 people . I will now be cooking duck curry as at least we can eat that during the week . ( don't have freezer room ).. .

Queenofthedrivensnow · 14/10/2017 14:37

Tayto ah bollocks re the hoop.

mammymammyIRL · 14/10/2017 14:45

Ah em it's impossible to know when you're going to hit a nerve with dh's!

Lonely sometimes women get eternity ring after first baby, I was lucky to get flowers, but already had eternity ring.

Queen you'll be in good company here we're all watching our money

Tayto I'd hang dress in shower on really hot to steam it if that's possible? Enjoy the girly time, glad nothing untoward triggered alarm.

mammymammyIRL · 14/10/2017 14:48

Laska is there something less costly you could take out of freezer e.g. Bread or chips?
