I really don't know TBH!

Cagliostro · 09/10/2017 13:38

Friend has a man with van friend though so may be sorting something there. Would probably do some really soon and then leave the rest for another time I guess - some bits are easier than others. Some of the big stuff is wooden furniture that DH can hack up to save space at least.

It's making me quite grumpy TBH (not difficult, I already sobbed on DH this morning in a panic about how little time we have left to finish all this stuff) - we have less space to leave anything while we sort out the house because we can't afford anywhere with a private garden, and because of where we live we have no private space for a skip either. And for the same reason we can't afford a car (even if my health issues didn't exist which would mean I could drive safely) so can't take anything ourselves.

God that sounds really lame doesn't it. It's just everything getting to me, I know it's really ungrateful to whinge as we are in a much better position than many! I just really wish that something could be simple. I'm trying to sort everything out and all I feel like doing is crying. Pathetic. I'm going to conveniently blame hormones though.

Taytocrisps · 09/10/2017 13:57

Ah Cag don't apologize. You're not lame at all. Trying to sort everything out would be challenging for anyone, let along someone so far along in their pregnancy. And you're limited by the lack of a car and possibly lack of space for a skip.

Thank you Thanks I just feel like I can't 'adult' sometimes you know? Blush Partly it's being autistic I think. I get so anxious about trying to sort anything like this because of all the different unpredictable elements to it, having to speak to new people and being anxious about getting something wrong etc.

Ridiculous though, give me a baby to look after and yep I'm cool, give me paperwork and I fall apart :o

CollieBobs · 09/10/2017 14:06

cag our local recycling centre take mattresses & all white goods so double check as a man & van would be ideal! Also our council charge £25 tomtake 2 bulky items (including white goods and mattresses) and then £10 for an additional item. You just leave it on the pavement on a specific date and they'll come and collect.

I wonder if your Council offers that service too?

Sorry I've just repeated what you or anyone else has said.

We had a nice weekend but we're not being very frugal Blush

ChristmasSeacow · 09/10/2017 14:15

God Cag I can't even sort out my spare room! And I have a car, and a garage, and I'm not pregnant... (now I feel a bit rubbish! Grin). Seriously, you shouldn't feel bad about getting emotional, you have a lot on and have some real practical challenges. As well as having huge uncertainty about a house move hanging over you... I would honestly be a basket case.

lifelongfrugaleer · 09/10/2017 15:42

YY our council charge £16.50 ish for 5 large items such as those you list. Defo worth a ring. The skip people may be able to get a road license so don't worry too much about it not going on your property.

Nsd though need food

Loveabaconsandwich · 09/10/2017 16:20

Flowers cag sometimes I wish we all knew each other in real life as we could all just come round and give each other a bit of real life practical help

LonelyOversharer · 09/10/2017 16:22

I went onto the reddit site while I was having a bath all dc at school, bliss! nothing about any of us!

Bit spendy today, as needed food/chicken food. About £45, then £31 on some more fish for the tank, our sailfin pleco died, so we needed to replace him, as the algae on the glass creeps up very quickly without a cleaner.

I'm looking in to making fire bricks out of scrap paper (we have tonnes), so might invest in a cross cut shredder this week as my shredder died (when I jammed too much in it), as this is the easiest way to prep the paper for mulch.

LonelyOversharer · 09/10/2017 16:26

Yy love two trip runs in our big car (van once the seats are folded into the floor) and it would all be done. It's such a faff for you cag and you're not silly, I'm 10+ years older than you and still struggle to adult properly. I wish I could help.

WreckTangled · 09/10/2017 16:41

I'm going to the cinema with my friend tonight! Can't wait. Smile

Spent £16 on lunch for myself and colleague (two soups and two soft drinks Hmm).

Need fuel later too. Cinema is £10.20

needastrongone · 09/10/2017 16:44

Now Cag, I am adopting a stern manner young lady... stop that negativity now. You are fucking amazing. Look at all you do and all you cope with, late pregnancy, 2 DC with SN, a house move, no car to help, HE your kids. 'Adulting' is hard, I've got better as I've got older and I'm millions of years older than you love.

You are indeed rock and roll Lonely. Thanks btw, I don't always feel like a pro, believe me!

Tayto Thanks for the heads up about the Reddit thread. I actually use this thread, I rarely check 'active'. I read S&B and have posted on Xmas to keep that on my threads for bargains. Hopefully we will keep out of the limelight.

There's a brilliant coffee machine offer on the Christmas thread at the minute, reduced from over £100 to £44.99. I've no one to buy one for this Christmas but it did stand out as a fab buy if you did have someone in mind.

£60 M&S, but some sandwiches and things for client lunches that I can claim.

needastrongone · 09/10/2017 16:47

Wrecked given that strange combination of parts of her body, I would make the same call re DD! I was a proper mean parent though like that though. Enjoy the cinema.

Fluffycloudland77 · 09/10/2017 16:48

One of mils neighbours put her sofa outside & complained to the council a sofa had been fly tipped outside her house. The scrap metal van won't take fridges here.

Do you get a reduced pick up charge if you get pip?.

I've seen those paper brick making things, can't you just tear the paper up?. It's a right ball ache shredding paper.

I'm quite used to people not liking me in rl, that it would carry on into cyberspace is no great stretch of the imagination.

NSD.

needastrongone · 09/10/2017 16:49

seacow I SO remember the holding hands thing after months of being totally caught up in 2 small DC. I get ya! Hope DD is okay.

Thanks all for the congratulations re the race, little bit stiff tonight so a bath and a stretch for sure. I need some more epsom salts from the pound shop though.

needastrongone · 09/10/2017 16:52

Love, not advocating credit, please don't think I am, but a few cards might offer 0% for a limited period that you could utilise while TC kick in?

needastrongone · 09/10/2017 16:55

Em Please don't think I'm being a patronising twat (much!), but my midwife once called when DS was having a bath and, er, not enjoying it much. She filled the baby bath to the brim with really really bubbly water, far more and warmer than we had been doing. He just stretched out like a satisfied cat! Just a thought from our own mistake there.

WreckTangled · 09/10/2017 16:59

Need Grin I was brought up with 'unless you're vomiting or have a fever you go to school'. I have the same stance on working and the dc will have to be the same. She twisted her ankle on the trampoline, was doing forward flips and has a cough so I could put it all down to that. Funnily enough she's fine now Wink

Fluffy I don't know why people don't like you (obviously I know you really well Wink)

needastrongone · 09/10/2017 17:05

Wrecked We were the same! My DC make their own call now, given their age but DS was 100% attendance and DD 99% last year. Not a stealth boast, they are generally robust on the whole health-wise (for which I am very grateful) but hopefully also they will have learnt something too. I was fairly sure you would say she was fine tonight!!

needastrongone · 09/10/2017 17:06

I don't like you Fluffy Grin

Fluffycloudland77 · 09/10/2017 17:15

Love That's a hell of a bill, is it twice a week then or still 3?. Is there anyway around it on mse?

Wreck Am horrible in rl Wink

It must be shit being a baby, everything's warm & comfy one minute then really cold and bright the next.

100 I hope you have one. It's a massive piss take that developers tell the water board who has a s/a & they just set up normal accounts. No one visited us, we just got a refund & so did the neighbours.

Our site manager told us we had one but I didn't want to admit I hadn't got a clue what it was. Hotukdeals told me why it mattered.

You can get free water saving devices off the water boards too, tap inserts, water crystals for hanging baskets, hippo bags, shower flow regulators, sometimes you get free Eco shower heads.

SnugglySnerd · 09/10/2017 17:24

NSD. Yay!

100yearsdotcom · 09/10/2017 17:48

Thanks again fluffy will keep you posted, wanted to get onto them today but too busy so either tomorrow or Wednesday now. fairly sure I'd like you in real life too Grin

In fact, I think I'd like all of you irl, I'm very glad I'm on this thread! thank you lonely for checking reddit though as if I'm checked it I'd be tipped over the edge anxiety wise!

Fluffycloudland77 · 09/10/2017 17:56

Green Jinn app has 35p back on ktc tinned chickpeas making them free.

Falafel is back on the menu then.

lifelongfrugaleer · 09/10/2017 17:56

Cag, stop that kind of talk now. You are not any of the negative things your think you are. >>Stern
