Well done need and no it is not bragging! I am glad you told us your achievement :)

So I once read on MN that unset jelly is really good for sore throats. I decided to try some and OMG it works! Super soothing :o

But I did realise that I need a measuring jug. Oops.

Taytocrisps · 08/10/2017 17:51

Am I the only one wondering why Fluffy needs a 54lb bag of spuds?

OP posts:
HollyTheHarrier · 08/10/2017 18:06

Nope tayto I want to know the story on that one too 😄

Well done need that’s a great result and always satisfying to improve on a previous time.

Fluffycloudland77 · 08/10/2017 18:16

It works out cheaper. The 28lb bag was £3.50, this ones £5. A nice young man puts it in the boot but I have to get it in the house on my own.

I have food allergies so processed carbs like oven chips & roasters will affect me.

It's the worlds little joke to make someone who hates cooking cook from scratch every single night. It's the practical joke that lasts a lifetime.

lifelongfrugaleer · 08/10/2017 18:51

Good grief I'm shattered. Top set of parties though.
Well done need, brag away.

lifelongfrugaleer · 08/10/2017 19:35

Every single towel in my house is somewhere in the laundry process.

ememem84 · 08/10/2017 20:52

Ds has had a bath. Apologies to you all for the noise - don’t think he liked it much...! Ha!

Have cleared away all of ds’ cards. Sad times. But have saved them in a box along with his hospital bracelets, his little card with his name/weight etc on it and a bracelet my dsis gave me when we told her I was pg. it had teeny silver baby feet on it and tied into my wrist. Idea being that when ds arrives and I had his real baby feet I could take off the other baby feet. So cute. I also found the pregnancy test in a drawer but have thrown that away. Dh thought it was wierd I even kept it. he might be right

I’m also going to keep the first outfit Ds wore and his first hat and booties.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 08/10/2017 21:42

Evening all, not sure its a scam the email looks really genuine Confused but checked my Amazon account and I have everything i ordered or it is showing when its due iyswim. Might just leave it a few days and wait and see...

Need you are awesome - well done Star

Mammy is it time to LTB yet? My tolerance for men behaving like twats is zero though Wink

We went to see the Christopher Robin film tonight, we went to a cinema in the next town as the tickets are more than half price cheaper there Shock mind you my mum paid and we took the snacks!! The film was brilliant but all three of us (me, dd and my mum!!) were in tears by the end.

I also got my phone, it will be £12.50 a month which includes insurance, its nothing fancy but I am happy with it. Spent £20 in Tescos on a top up shop, need to get some other bits at some point....

Have felt weirdly hung over all day, annoying when you don't drink!!!

ChristmasSeacow · 08/10/2017 21:50

I couldn't seem to post yesterday so just testing now before writing more

WreckTangled · 08/10/2017 22:09

Oh no girlie is it sad? I'm going to see it tomorrow but I can't cope with sad!!

ememem84 · 08/10/2017 22:20

Oh girlie I want to see that one. I suspected it may be a sad one. I love Winnie the Pooh.

Dh is sleeping in the spare room tonight. He has meetings all day tomorrow so needs a good sleep so it’s just ds and me in our room this evening. Dh has catface.

She hasn’t shown any interest in getting in with Ds but I’m not taking any chances. Bedroom door is firmly shut. She’s been scratching at the door at 630 every morning and crying for her Mummy. #heartbreaking
But when I get up to feed her etc she’s so so happy to see me. Super jumpy and friendly and head bumpy. 😻

Tomorrow will be spendy. I have a money off code for my birthday from ASOS (I think it’s 15% and free delivery) also have a £5 voucher. Dh wants some clothes. He’s sent me screenshots so I’ll order on my account. There are a few bits I could do with too so will add these to the order.

ChristmasSeacow · 08/10/2017 23:53

Well, I wrote a bit yesterday but it wouldn't post and now I can't remember! But it included: agree I wouldn't sweat the DC drinking, unless it becomes a frequent occurrence or you are worried their lives are out of kilter. I was quite a goody-two-shoes but made my own mistakes with alcohol. You just need to figure out some of that stuff for yourself!

We went out last night with friends and my mum babysat. All went quite well and as mum said, the kids haven't put her off! So we can go out agsin Wink. It was the first time I'd left DD for more than a brief errand to the shop, so it felt a bit weird. I occasionally sneaked a look at pictures of her as I missed her a bit. Was lovely to get out though not cheap -£140 for my and DH's share of the bill. Decent French bistro but even still - London prices. Good job we don't get out much really! We had a good time with our friends though. DH and I even managed to hold hands on the way as for once no one was pushing a buggy or holding a child. It felt very strange indeed!

No frittery spends today but about £30 on the Snapfish website buying various photo cards for thank-yous, and also getting extra photos printed. Looong overdue thank-you cards for the gifts for DD Blush. Unfortunately DS managed to delete the Notes app on my phone, where I had listed said gifts so I wouldn't forget to thank someone. All notes now lost. So inevitably I will miss someone Blush.

Sorry DH is being a dick Mammy

WreckTangled · 09/10/2017 07:32

Ah glad you got a night out seacow!

I've got a busy day today. Twenty children to try and see before lunch.

Dd is having a meltdown because her tummy, ankle and chest hurt. She has a cough and went to a trampolining party yesterday so I suspect that's why. She isn't having the day off school.

Loveabaconsandwich · 09/10/2017 08:05

Hooray, train WiFi is working for the first time in ages.

Well done need.

Glad you got a night out seacow

Already spent £15 on eBay. Bought a very similar looking dress to the phase eight one I bought the other week. If it is nice then the new one will get returned and a saving of £55! If not, I will put it back on eBay

I’ve now only got another 5 weeks of my train fare to work being paid. So will then have to find the £17 per day from somewhere. Fortunately 30 free hours of childcare starts in January so it is just a six week period that needs to be extra frugal

ememem84 · 09/10/2017 08:35

love that’s what I love about eBay. I’ve found so many items of clothing i wanted in the shops for a fraction of the price.

Ds slept from 830 to 1230 last night. Then from 2 till 5. Then from 6 until right now. I changed him at 2. And now wish I’d changed him again at 5. He’s wet. But fast asleep. I’m waiting for him to wake up...reluctant to wake him. Not sure if this is the best thing to do or not but I had been told never to wake a sleeping baby....

We have the health visitor coming round today (at least she’s given me a rough time of arrival which is nice). Weathers looking a bit icky. Grey and drizzley but we might pop out for a walk this afternoon.

Must charge my Fitbit. The boss has challenged me to a steps challenge. Can’t track steps if it’s not charged!!!

Ds and I are going into town later this week to register him. And will pop into work to say hello. My team have taken it in turns to each check in with me each day. No work stuff is being discussed. Just idle gossip nonsense, how is ds, Netflix recommendations etc. (Currently watching timeless which is rather good). So that’s nice. They know that any work-ness will trigger a keeping in touch Day.

ememem84 · 09/10/2017 08:42

Scratch that. Ds woke up. He’s now dry and changed. Happy boy.

SnugglySnerd · 09/10/2017 09:04

We slept last night too! Partly because we went to bed at 8.30 but none of the dcs woke up until 5. Such an improvement on the last few weeks.

Should be NSD today. I'm about to peg out washing and I've started cleaning the windows but it's got a bit too sunny now so will carry on later.

Lasagne for tea. Already have veggie bolognaise front the freezer and made extra cheese sauce when we had cauliflower cheese on Friday so it's just a quick assembly job. Will do sweet potato wedges to go with it. I love lasagne. Can't wait!

100yearsdotcom · 09/10/2017 09:15

Thanks for the soakaway tip fluffy, I'm going to check it out this week. You are the best! Grin

Was going to reply to everyone but can't remember everything! Hope everyone is OK!

We had NSDs mainly last week but then a £££ shop as I got money off over a certain amount and they had a sale on some stuff that I got for Christmas food and DD's first birthday so it'll balance out over time.

DD is a star, she has had 2 nights in her own room and has slept through from 8pm-5am ish both nights then gone back to sleep after a feed till 8am! I'm quite sad she's growing up so quickly but super proud she's doing so well. 💜Star

Taytocrisps · 09/10/2017 09:47

NSD yesterday.

Should be another NSD today.

Miserable rainy Monday morning here.

OP posts:
ChristmasSeacow · 09/10/2017 10:08

I am Envy at all these sleeping babies!

DD is very out of sorts this morning - hungry but won't take her milk and doing a lot of yodelling (her sign of tiredness) . I think she needs a poo 🙄

ChristmasSeacow · 09/10/2017 10:10

On the plus side I discovered coop sells teacakes (the marshmallow sort) with cherry jam filling. V excited about my next cup of tea sad

SnugglySnerd · 09/10/2017 12:30

Don't worry Christmas they are not napping well today. So much for getting jobs done. Why can't we have sleep at night and a couple of decent naps???

Taytocrisps · 09/10/2017 12:38

I don't know if anyone else noticed it in Chat but apparently there's a Reddit thread where posters have been bitching about MN posters. I had a quick glance but there are hundreds of posts and I didn't have the time or inclination to read them all. I like to think that we fly under the radar a bit, but it's a bit unpleasant (to say the least) that people might be discussing us and our posts elsewhere. I know, I know...... it's a public forum etc. etc.

OP posts:
Cagliostro · 09/10/2017 13:07

I won't look tayto I'd rather not know TBH!

Ugggh so looking into skip hire but not even sure it's possible to get one here due to weird layout - no driveway but the way the street is, not sure they'd even be able to get anything onto our lawn. Been asked to send a photo of lawn/street and they'll see if they can do it. £330 but they don't take fridges, washing machines or mattresses. And we would have one of each.

Other option is man and van so asking around for recommendations. Hippo (of the hippo bag variety, but there isn't one big enough) do M&V but they want photos of the waste beforehand, and we can't do that yet because we haven't put it outside - because there is nowhere to put it!

Taytocrisps · 09/10/2017 13:13

That's a bit rubbish Cag (no pun intended) that they won't take fridges, washing machines and mattresses. I don't think I've ever seen a filled skip that didn't contain at least one mattress. What are your options then? A man with a van to take them to a recycling centre for white goods? But then what do you do with the mattress?
