Just read the info from the community midwives. Apparently they'll just turn up whenever. My trip out may have to be postponed. We have people coming round at 3. So I guess they'll turn up around then...

Cagliostro · 29/09/2017 10:40

DH has agreed to get a taxi to dancing tomorrow and take all the books etc. I do agree a book bundle would possibly get some people but there are 8 huge bags of donations (not just kids books but other stuff too) and there is virtually no room to move in the kitchen. It's really stressing me out so it's just not worth it sadly. Need it gone like yesterday!

Laska5772 · 29/09/2017 11:12

Em dont wait in... you need to get out and do normal things asap with a baby for your own well being also .. she can come back or text you a time?

ememem84 · 29/09/2017 11:26

I just called them. And said I was wanting to get out. (Pet the leaflet I was given) and could they give me an approx time. They can't. It depends on the people before me. Some people need 10 minutes. Some people need longer. Blah blah. Also the last didn't know who's list I was on. So she couldn't contact anyone to find out.

Sigh.

My friend said I'll be told at this stage I need to get out and about by them too...!!! ironic

They are due to come on Monday too but I'm going to push for an approx time. Or to be first on the list. It's my birthday on Monday. And we're going out for birthday family lunch.

ChristmasSeacow · 29/09/2017 11:47

It is impossible to exaggerate how wet I got walking back from the school this morning. I peeled off my soaking wet jeans and put my pyjama bottoms back on.

And the milk expired yesterday so no muesli for me. I had to have an emergency bacon butty instead. Shame Grin

Need to go to sainies for click and collect (Tu sale) and a small top up shop. I need inspiration for dinner, preferably something that can be kept warm without suffering so we can take it in turns to eat / hold Princess DD.

WreckTangled · 29/09/2017 11:50

Em that's annoying. A simple morning or afternoon would be better than that! I'm in the same office as the health visitors and they always give a time within half an hour.

Seacow I've been craving a bacon sandwich for a few weeks so am planning on having one tomorrow!

ChristmasSeacow · 29/09/2017 11:53

It was sooo good. I am Team Brown Sauce, DSis is Team Ketchup and we can barely talk about it without falling out.

DD looked as though she was going to interrupt it with some unreasonable demand for food or whatever but I gave her a hard stare and she held off for the 30 seconds 5 minutes I needed to enjoy it. Small victories.

Laska5772 · 29/09/2017 11:58

Ketchup!! .. Brown sauce is just wrong. Sorry. Just. Wrong. White bread only . Its the law.

Sausage sarnies can have brown sauce.. and brown bread .

ememem84 · 29/09/2017 12:02

wreck it's so frustrating. I'd be happy with just a morning or afternoon. Or with a number so I could actually contact the person coming round....

ememem84 · 29/09/2017 12:03

Oooh bacon sandwiches. I'm team both. But on different sides of the bread. Has to be white bread though.

WreckTangled · 29/09/2017 12:25

Bacon sandwich, toasted bread with butter, brown sauce and whole grain mustard.

Laska5772 · 29/09/2017 12:51

That is so wrong wreck..

AdoraBell · 29/09/2017 13:41

Shock you adulterated bacon sarnies with sauce? What are you people doing? It must be doorstep fresh white bread, none of this plastic stuff, and butter to be melted by the bacon.

em that's so irritating.

WreckTangled · 29/09/2017 13:43

Granary bread please! Pfft you lot obviously don't have refined palates like I do

ChristmasSeacow · 29/09/2017 13:50

Laska I am appalled by your stance on sausage sandwiches too. I think it is best if we never speak of this again.

Sainies is pretty expensive - I think more so than Waitrose. £40 top up Blush although that incluses expensive ingredients for a pudding I am taking to a barbecue tomorrow. And it's more than a week since my last proper shop.

Fluffycloudland77 · 29/09/2017 13:56

Cag You'll be making lots of other children happy with the donations though. Too much stuff stresses me out too.

Em Important milestones ought to be marked. He'll find out himself Friday's mean alcohol. I'd never give a time for home visits but our patients are meant to be housebound. Best response I ever got arriving at a home was "oh I am so glad you came this week. I'm going to my house in Spain next week" Grin

£10 Tesco, 1000 tea bags, naice cheesecake for Dh.
£1.50 butter & celery in Aldi.

Shotgun app gave me a free tastecard membership for a year, I need to make sure I'm not signing up to continuous authorisation on my card. Otherwise the bastards will charge me next year.

Wtf has happened to the price of butter? 😳 I need to stock up next time Président butter goes on offer.

Laska5772 · 29/09/2017 14:01

Im not letting it go quite yet.. Seacow ..

So. You are going to a barbecue.. Just how do you propose to eat the sausages then? !! Actualy I will accept pickle or mustard .. tbh I am not that keen on brown sauce..
Grin

ChristmasSeacow · 29/09/2017 14:07

Laska ketchup with sausages, natch. Although in a hotdog situation I am very happy with just onions or a dab of mustard.

Adora your bacon buttie also sounds pretty good. Au naturel.

WreckTangled · 29/09/2017 14:24

I know fluffy I noticed that with butter too!

LonelyOversharer · 29/09/2017 14:37

em one of two things will happen with pumping...1. It all works like it should, tonnes of milk comes out, ds takes the bottle like a trooper and everyone is happy, or 2. Your body decides it isn't mechanical, two drops of milk come out per hour, and it hurts like hell, ds will scream and spit out the bottle, and just want mummy !!! Dd1 went for no.1 and I never tried with the rest!

We went to sainsburys for lunch, got bowls and cups in the sale, plus sarnies and almond croissants £19.

White bread, streaky bacon (almost too far cooked) and tomato sauce for me. But I make 5 different variations for my lot, and ds won't touch bacon yet

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 29/09/2017 14:41

We are the same as Fluffy never give a time of when we are going to turn up as the patients are meant to be housebound. Its a good way to work out who is and is not truly housebound Wink Apparently there has been a problem with producing butter which is why it is extortionate all of a sudden.

Been into town, didn't realise sales were on! Got some m&s bras 2 for £10 plus matching knickers for £5, well actually my mum paid for them Grin I'm not too old for my mum to buy my underwear right?! Wink

Also Subway were giving away free Subs with a drink so dd was happy and lunch was sorted £1.70 for the drink. £5 in CareWareHouse on lots of cards, have a stupid amount of Bdays in Oct.

Talking of which ordered my brothers bday present £16 and my Godmothers present £14 off a nice plant website (Crocus) this morning.

Picked up some more Cyclamans (?sp) that were selling for 70p each in Morrisons £2.10, have already put them in my borders and they look lovely and colourful.

Dd has the dentist this afternoon, in theory no more spends....

WreckTangled · 29/09/2017 14:42

I'm just on the phone to tax credits. Apparently I managed to delete my childcare online somehow which is why it's coming up as a massive over payment. Phew!

WreckTangled · 29/09/2017 14:43

I pumped exclusive for a week until I was allowed to even hold ds.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 29/09/2017 14:53

I pumped to start with as well, more to try and build up a supply tbh. I think there is some advice about not introducing a bottle too soon though to try and avoid nipple confusion? Although dd always had both and was fine! Oh and also apparently night feeds are really important to get the supply right for the day - sorry Em Wink

The weather is being annoying, just hung some washing out as was lovely and sunny and it now looks like it might rain Hmm

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 29/09/2017 14:54

Thats a relief Wreck!! I find the whole TC thing so flipping stressful, will be glad when we no longer need them.
