Hope it went well at the dentist Sunny. At least it will be over and done with.
Need, hope you feel well enough for your race at the weekend
Em, when will you hear if you've got the house.
Didn't get much chance to see Durham unfortunately but have been there before. I think DP and I need a weekend break there. I just had to go to a meeting then leave for home.
Stopped on motorway for food but can claim it back.
Cag, well done to your DH on his run. He must be ultra fit. Let us know how he gets on.
Good look with the meeting Seacow. I hope you get what you want and they don't try and fob you off with an inferior package because of cuts.

allthebestplease · 30/03/2017 19:38

Waitrose have Glades candles for £2.50, nit sure if this is a bargain, but I got one because of all the talk on here! (they were reduced to that amount).

Coppersulphate · 30/03/2017 19:39

Sorry, cross posted Sunny. Sometimes you just have to spend money on stuff. But being frugal at least means that you have got the money to spend when needed.
Glad it is going to be ok though.

SunnyLikeThursday · 30/03/2017 19:44

Copper I totally agree.

The main thing I've learned from frugaleering is that I am too tight with money in certain really critical areas. Things have got a lot better for my family since I've started paying for bits of private medical care here and there.

That dietician last week really helped too. I've put on nearly half a stone in a week, just because my appetite was helped by adding in these essential fatty acids. Great stuff!

Hello all. Wanted to go to a discussion thing this evening about drug laws but anxiety was too bad, sigh.

Been home all day, mixture of lazing about, chores, and revision. Spend like £50 on French books and films but will get about half that back at a later date as I can claim the cost of the books back.

Well done to all those who have achieved cool stuff Smile.

WreckTangled · 30/03/2017 20:16

Dh is just getting us a kebab for dinner. I have stuff I could cook but haven't stopped all day and we're still twenty minutes from home. Dd did her little solo line in the arts festival her choir was in. So cute! She had swimming after school too so will be knackered.

CremeEggThief · 30/03/2017 20:29

Almost an NSD. 55p on a pint of milk to keep us going til tomorrow. I'm sure it was only 48p a few weeks ago, so that's a sign of the food prices rising.

Well done Sunny, Chocolate and Rosie.Smile

CremeEggThief · 30/03/2017 20:31

Very well done to Wreck's DD too.SmileBear

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 30/03/2017 21:01

Hi all am so happy to stop work for a few days Smile its been a looooooooooooong week!!

Think its been a NSD.

Glad the trip went o.kay Sunny

Have worked out I would need 5 lots of that border which would be £90 Shock seems a lot so going to have a think about it....

needastrongone · 30/03/2017 21:15

Brilliant frugal stuff there Chocolate, bloody hell. Just shows how much you can save or, alternatively, how much we waste. Well done.

Well done to your DD wrecked and thumbs up for the kebab. Listen, we are ALL allowed to be anxious, this is a big change. Would it help if I told you how worked up I got driving all over the major city near us collecting DD at midnight on Tuesday when there was a diversion and I wasn't sure where the bloody hell I was going? I took very long deep breaths and kept logical, judging where I was going compared to where I needed to go. I was shattered though when we got home. But fucking hell, I did it. And I am stronger for it and will do it again. Challenge is good, but hard! New journey in your life but you will smash it wrecked!

All Seems a decent price for a Glade candle, and much cheaper than Yankee!

Em Thanks. You've got all bases covered and have options. Win win I say. I'm excited for you!

Rosie That sound like a far more sensible plan to be honest.

Lonely Well done on getting 19 there so early in the season.

Today's spends.
£60 new chickens!!! 4 new ladies to my flock.
£25 DC hair cuts, I tipped £5 as my DC have mega thick hair and the poor hairdresser spent ages. usually a tenner each. I wish I had DD's hair, it is blond and thick and curly and wonderful... sigh!

needastrongone · 30/03/2017 21:16

Polka I am glad you are getting a night out. Are you okay about your BF? x

ChocolateSherberts2017 · 30/03/2017 21:32

I'm on a roll now, tomorrow I'm going to look at the utilities and insurance and see if I can get cheaper deals elsewhere. It is time consuming doing all of this switching malarkey but it's so worth it. There are usually good deals advertised on top cash back so it's worth looking on there & the plus side is that you get a Dr extra ££ cash back for treats.

ChocolateSherberts2017 · 30/03/2017 21:33

Ignore the random Dr!

needastrongone · 30/03/2017 21:38

Chocolate, Martin Lewis suggest that yes, it is time consuming, but it only days maybe a fully concentrated day a year to save so much. Good for you!

I'm getting messed around on FB selling sites. I'll put my stuff on Ebay but prefer to wait until the weekend for auctions to end.

needastrongone · 30/03/2017 21:40

The dog is comfy at least!

lifelongfrugaleer · 31/03/2017 06:48

WreckTangled · 31/03/2017 07:17

Thanks need and fluffy Smile last day. I feel nervous which is ridiculous! Should be nsd.

lifelongfrugaleer · 31/03/2017 07:52

Totally understandable wreck.

Ps it's pay day

Cagliostro · 31/03/2017 08:24

Thanks wreck

LonelyOversharer · 31/03/2017 08:55

Today will be tough wreck Flowers But, off on holiday tomorrow!!

Am staying home to clean up today. Such fun. Will put a payment out to all my credit cards, but hopefully no other spends, we shall see.

Brightermornings · 31/03/2017 09:37

Thanks for the new thread sunny.

I'll catch up properly later. I'm off work today and Monday so I've got a long weekend Smile

I'm off to Aldi today. Weathers looking okish so washing out.
I've booked my feet in for a bit of sorting out later.
I'm out tomorrow for my friends 50th just a few drinks so hopefully not too expensive.

Strawberrythief87 · 31/03/2017 09:43

Hope all goes well today wreck
Really happy with my swim yesterday, managed to do 5k for the first time, been training for the Swimathon coming up and quite relieved to know I can do it. Went to bed quietly proud of myself then woke up after a nightmare about that job interview Confused
Anyway onwards and upwards today, it's payday (yay!) and after waking up early I went through the freezer taking note of what we've got so I can try and use that up quite a bit this month.
I did however find we've still got 4 gammon joints in there (all about a good size for 4 people or so)Shock, after my dp bought them reduced after xmas. We've already had gammon 2/3 times since xmas but previous to this we would do an xmas ham once a year and that was it- any exciting ways of using gammon would be much appreciated!

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 31/03/2017 09:49

Day off today, whoo hoo!!

Am going to do my millage in a min though as need that money! Will also send my manager an email with all my over time so will hopefully get that paid as well...

Plan for today is to move off the sofa bit of house work and then take a little trip out to a local garden centre for a mooch about.

Dds hamster has got a lump on her leg, she is pretty elderly now in hamster terms (2.4yo) and i have a horrible feeling its a tumour. That said she doesn't seem bothered by it, will take her to the vet this wend I think. As hamsters go she has been a lovely pet, very low maintenance and lots of entertainment value. Dd going to be very upset if it is cancer Sad

RosieposiePuddingandPi · 31/03/2017 09:49

Need I love that chickens are on your spends list! I'd love to have chickens but our garden's way too small and there's far too much wildlife round here We've got lovely ones at work though so I live out my chicken-keeping dreams through them.
Nice one on the swimming Strawberry, I used to swim for fitness but never got to quite those distances!
Chocolate we're also having a go at switching all of our insurances and things over the weekend, hopefully we'll all find some good deals and it's worth all the effort.

I'm meeting up with a couple of friends with babies today and going for a walk so it should hopefully be a LSD (just a cup of tea maybe?) as long as the weather stays nice and we're not tempted into shops to get indoors!
