Welcome back collie

Ipsos in sept I bought a Ford Focus saloon, I truly love it & I thought I loved the grand vitara I had for years but no this is so much better

Needastrongone · 18/03/2017 10:21

I have only been productive as my body clock is shot and I'm not good at sitting down, as you all know Smile

Knitting, yes Gourami! He's chosen everything in the tank to compliment the other and honestly agonised over his choices, I've smiled to myself as he's done it. Did you have Mollies (sp) or Guppies or similar then, that breed easily?

Yes, I've a 10 mile road race tomorrow, thanks for remembering. Unlikely to go out of the house today and plan on a few hours with one of my book club books this afternoon. Lots of carbs for tea, had protein for breakfast in the form of a mushroom and spinach omelette. I've signed up for premium Strava Grin. After this road race it's volume and off road miles for the 3 Peaks challenge.

What about a Honda or Volvo Ipso Or an Audi estate if you can stretch?

ememem84 · 18/03/2017 10:26

And I'm up. A cold shower has absolutely woken me up. Surprise!!! No hot water here.

Plumber called and he's on his way. He thinks our thermostat switch may have tripped out as it may have got too hot. Hoping it's that as it'll be a quick fix.

lifelongfrugaleer · 18/03/2017 10:44

Usual shop £100 ish.
Washing out, in dryer, on line, next load in.
Missed class as they moved it 15 min earlier so going to a later one instead.

I wouldn't touch that car.
We are thinking about a focus too.

mammymammyIRL · 18/03/2017 11:00

Donal Skehan's super green omelette with some reduced fat cheddar & quarter of an avocado inside. Dd had a pancake, frozen from extras from pancake tues ds has a mixing bowl with strawberry yogurt inside.
They both want to stay home & not do shopping so I think that's what we'll do.

Mr Need will need an account for maximum skincare buying potential.

Hondas are often auto & being Japanese last well. Both my fords ran well, just annual service where Dh works & some oil.

WreckTangled · 18/03/2017 11:18

I'm supposed to be putting washing away and sorting the sitting room but I got distracted and baked a cake

ememem84 · 18/03/2017 11:30

Water heater is not a quick fix. Both heating elements gone Angry if it'd happened yesterday then plumber could have picked new up from shop and fitted today. Shop isn't open on a Saturday. Annoying!!

So no hot water here until Monday. 😭

Guess I'm hitting the gym tomorrow morning then and showering there!!

Hopefully shouldn't be too expensive. But saying that we need hot water. Luckily dh has showered at the airport today.

Ipsomatic · 18/03/2017 11:56

We have a nearly new Ford Focus parked outside our house to try out now and I am revving my brain up to try to like it.

My choices are very restricted because I don't get on with LED lights and most cars are festooned with them inside. Also I don't get on with wobbly cars, so I'm looking for one that drives like a battleship. As far as I can tell we're down to a Focus or a Golf. Fingers crossed that one will do.

Need My dm bred guppies and platties. The baby rearing net was particularly cute. :-) When they are babies the body is invisible so they just look like a tiny pair of eyeballs swimming. LOL! Hope your ds loves every minute. Splosh!

WreckTangled · 18/03/2017 12:27

Diabetes.co.uk just posted something nasty on their fb page. It was a meme about looking like a 'retarded seal'. I'm pleased to say after I commented they took it down. Honestly surely everyone knows what a horrible word that it??

lifelongfrugaleer · 18/03/2017 12:37

I had the same dilemma ipso. Capacity wise they are both the same near enough. (3 cubic feet did difference i think). Vw are usually more expensive to buy so i find i could get a focus 2 years younger for the price of the golf. The secret is not being arsed about the car, be ready to move fast or walk away if the dealer is a dick as some were, and go at the end of the month. I ended up with the golf as vw charge dealers of the car is on the forgot fore court more than 90 days so all in it was to good a bargain.

Ignore me if you know all of this.

WreckTangled · 18/03/2017 13:01

Ds just stepped on the wrapped birthday present and ripped the paper Angry

lifelongfrugaleer · 18/03/2017 13:43

Also, check if you can turn the dash board lights down to reduce the brightness. You could with my vw.

£20 for trampoline centre DD friend gave me £20 towards it.

ememem84 · 18/03/2017 13:50

£25 riding.

And the bloody fogs come down. The gate for dhs flight from Gatwick has closed though. So fingers crossed they land here!!!!

ememem84 · 18/03/2017 14:47

Yayayayayay!! The flight landed!! Am waiting at arrivals with my "dh's wife" sign.

Just spent £12 on salad and chips. And fruit pastilles.

SnugglySnerd · 18/03/2017 15:02

Enjoy the reunion, Em!

I would love a Focus for the sole reason that they have heated windscreens so no scraping required on frosty mornings.

Am scoffing chocolate biscuits in an attempt to stay awake and to appear enthusiastic about playing with DD1! We've read about 20 books so far today which has been lovely but I think she needs to burn off some energy now. DH has taken her to the park but it's just started to rain so expecting them back soon.

lifelongfrugaleer · 18/03/2017 15:06

Hurrah em
Snuggly have a nap

mammymammyIRL · 18/03/2017 15:09

Snuggly I love my heated windscreen Grin

Em enjoy the reunion

I'm gone grocery shopping by myself - such a joy, no one putting extras in trolley !

Needastrongone · 18/03/2017 15:28

We had guppies that bred in a tank that we had years ago Ipso, I know what you mean about the eyes Smile

Just made a Mary Berry lime tray bake, but have now sat down with a cuppa and one of my books for an hour.

My sort of frugal idea this week is to cook from one recipe book only, then rotate to another for the following week, rather than buy more.

Thanks for the link Fluffy.

Needastrongone · 18/03/2017 15:29

Tray bake yum yum

Go to sleep snuggly.

Cagliostro · 18/03/2017 15:39

Thanks fluffy

Knitting totally with you and your mum on the nail varnish. I love the idea of it but they make my hands feel WEIRD. I get my nail varnish kicks by doing DD's when she asks (she's got Gryffindor colours at the moment). I'm similar with jewellery, which does make me sad as I have some nice bits and pieces but they just make me want to claw at my neck/wrist as it irritates me so much (not an allergy or anything just the feeling of something being there! I can't wear light summery scarves either). It's really annoying because I would love to wear stuff like my friends do, but accepting it does at least save me money as I no longer by accessories, make up etc.

DH and I are doing a kitchen inventory today.

£1.95 on a coffee. The birthday girls mum let dd join in the whole party which was really kind of her and I didn't expect her to so that was nice.

CremeEggThief · 18/03/2017 16:04

Yum, Need. Put t'kettle on!Grin

I don't wear make-up really, apart from a touch of concealer and lipstick sometimes, but I love jewellery. I always wear ear-rings, a bracelet and necklace and rings. I feel naked without it.

Spends: £16.70 lunch out for DS and I; £19.30 Primark; £3 organiser as part of a birthday gift for my sister and 89 pence bananas.

iamdivergent · 18/03/2017 16:06

Hi all, can I join.

We are having some work done on the house that we have saved hard for and we'll be pretty much wiped out after it is all finished. I'm on maternity leave but in my AML so not receiving any pay now, swithering on whether or not to actually return as childcare will basically wipe out my wages so what would be the point when I could be home with the baby.

I'm bad for nipping into tesco/morrisons and coming out with a bag of stuff I don't need so I want to cut that out as soon as I can.

CremeEggThief · 18/03/2017 16:07

Oh and £30 for combat boots for DS. He's joined the army cadets!

That was lovely of the mum, Wreck.
