Sorry cag bad influence here!!! I need to get out of bed. I was out then crawled back in with a cup of tea.

Must wash my hair today. Haven't since Wednesday. Ick.

lifelongfrugaleer · 26/03/2017 11:21

2 more loads of washing. Did 4 yesterday, beef in SC, choc crispy cakes made and raspberry and mallow muffins in the oven. Never made them before but they smell lovely. Didn't have enough raspberry but winging it.

ememem84 · 26/03/2017 11:23

life recipe for the muffins please. They sound amazing.

Cagliostro · 26/03/2017 11:25

Yes me too please! Not that I'm any good at baking 😳 But they sound awesome

I like baking.

Sometimes it goes right - fond memories of a calorific layered Black Forest cake for my dad for his birthday a few years back. Real cream real chocolate real cherries chocolate sponge dripping with cherry brandy and kirsch. Sour cherry jam. My god it was delicious.

I tried making savoury muffins with polenta a while ago corn pepper tomato savoury muffins. Sounded good. Absolute soggy disaster cakes. Fell apart. Eugh.

lifelongfrugaleer · 26/03/2017 11:36

They are easy cag. They stuck to the muffin pan. The recipe says 12 but i did 15 as i have smaller cake cases.

My attempt, will report back on taste as they are just cooling

SunnyLikeThursday · 26/03/2017 12:31

Hi, Sorry I was missing. I was test driving a car yesterday and then since then I have been making it up to ds who was bored stiff, whilst also covertly car shopping online. I'm hopelessly behind but I will read back as soon as I can grap a minute. Hope you are all getting on well .

Cagliostro · 26/03/2017 12:36

Ah I was wondering if a car was the cause! What one was it this time, and did you like it? Well done MiniSunny for being so patient too.

Cheers life they look amazing and also simple enough that I might just be able to manage them! Hopefully! I even mess up cookie mixes though let alone baking from scratch 😳

Been out clearing the garden. I think I'm going to invest in a karcher pressure washer. The shady bits are looking quite green on the paths

MeadowHay · 26/03/2017 13:16

Happy mothers' day to the mams and mams to be Smile! Unfortunately I can't be with my mam as we live in different cities but I am going to visit in a few weeks.

mammy I love Evita!! I saw it a few years ago with my mam, thought it was great.

Thanks for all the suggestions about my volunteering guys, I am making a note of everything!

I did just catch up but my short term memory is awful so now I can't remember what anyone else said sorry Confused. Oh Seacow that's lovely about your son writing! I had some kids yesterday who were determined to write their own cards so wouldn't let me write any of it for them so I had to keep writing down 'dear mum' for them to copy and they tried to copy it in big shaky letters bless them! I admired their determination Grin. I also liked the ones who said they'd copied my 'happy mothers' day' and it was like a few squiggles Grin that was some of the youngest ones like.

Loveabaconsandwich · 26/03/2017 13:29

Just cleaned the fridge, properly, for the first time I think since we moved in Blush. I won't say how long we have lived here BlushBlush but you wouldn't have wanted to eat at my house

Tuesday will be the freezer.

Amazing roast lamb for lunch. DP had to cut it up for me as DD insisted on sitting on my lap whilst eating so I only had one hand

Cagliostro · 26/03/2017 13:45

Awww seacow! Awesome about the writing.

Meadow I meant to suggest paper airplanes too. And mark out a start line to see who gets furthest? Although does have potential for people getting a plane in the face Lego could be quite therapeutic particularly if you suggest things like 'build something that makes you happy' (that may be way beyond your remit though)

I rather like the look of pressure washers, must be fun if you have some anger to take out too! Blast that dirt away!!! :o

Bacon we can be embarrassing kitchen buddies! 😳

I told my parents about the Caglet and they were really sweet. Surprised but reassuring and lovely. Should be visiting them during Easter hols although it won't be easy to talk about stuff then if the Caglets are around. Thankfully they are old enough to go to the park behind mum's flat for a while as long as they have watches on!

ememem84 · 26/03/2017 13:54

We've been talking about the house we saw yesterday. We're going back for second viewing.

It was bugging us. It had everything we want. It was the location that annoyed me mostly because it's on a catchment for one crap school and two ok ones. But that's now. Things will change.

And the space there is and the garden makes me think we'd be stupid to not try and get it...

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 26/03/2017 14:03

Hi all, hope you are all having a lovely mothers day Smile

I got a lovely lie in and dd did well with the gifts she had picked up for me, card was super cute as well so a lovely start to the day.

Her show last night was amazing, so proud of her Star

Today have been sorting the garden, mowed the lawn and done a general tidy up plus have planted loads of seeds which will hopefully be a money saver if they grow.....

Its another beautiful sunny day, going over to my mums now to wish her a happy mothers day!!

Em def worth another look, the house did sound nice.

SunnyLikeThursday · 26/03/2017 14:23

Gosh, I'm caught up now.

Cag What news! Very many congratulations to you and all of your family. My dh says now you can home ed your older kids in how to look after a baby, and that will be such a bedrock of understanding for them in their grown up life. I hope you feel well soon and can enjoy your pregnancy. Hugs!!!!

SunnyLikeThursday · 26/03/2017 14:27

There seem to be a lot pregnancies on here lately. Is it catching, do you think?

Cagliostro · 26/03/2017 14:44

Aw thanks sunny yes there does seem to be something in the air round here doesn't there 😀

I'm currently trying to work out if the sickness (well nausea) is worse this time or if I'm just looking back with rose tinted specs 😂 But I made it round the supermarket (including the walk there and back from town, which really isn't far, but is often too far for me iyswim) and now catching some fresh air while the Caglets hit the playground. It's nippy in the shade though!

OP posts:
Cagliostro · 26/03/2017 14:46

Em good luck with the second viewing. Hopefully you'll be able to work out what that niggle was, and then decide if it's an ignorable one.

Glad you're having a good day Girlie and huge well done to DD on her show! Yay! 🌟

OP posts:
ememem84 · 26/03/2017 14:52

cag I think the niggle was the location and proximity to schools. We obviously don't have to think about that yet. I don't want to settle. But the garden is massive for the price. It already has a trampoline (full size) two sheds and a patio and a conservatory. The garden also has enough space for (hypothetically to give an idea of space) a small pool, a veggie patch, and a small pony. And the house itself could do with a fresh lick of paint here and there.

But it's no reason not to entertain it.

Lovely (albeit varnished to fuck) wood floors throughout which could be sanded back, yellow bedrooms which could be painted. A slightly warped couple of kitchen cupboard doors. Nothing that can't be fixed.

It also has potential to extend out sideways as its semi detached. We'd be fools not to even think about it sensibly. Ok it's not my Barbie dream granite farmhouse with acres of land and sea views. But we don't have enough cash for that. But it could be the forever home.

Fluffycloudland77 · 26/03/2017 15:04

Triple glaze the fucker & don't let them put trickle vents in.

The garden sounds amazing.

SunnyLikeThursday · 26/03/2017 15:06

Nicely put Fluffy.

needastrongone · 26/03/2017 15:14

Difficult one that Em re schools/location. You are right to give it another look, but equally so to think about schools. What seems a long way away time-wise really isn't. Moving twice in a few years is 2 sets of fees and stress. Everything else sounds cosmetic and some potential there too.

Life We have a karcher (or similar), they do make a massive difference for an afternoons jet washing.

That's brill about the show Girlie, and the lovely pressies.

Mammy Cheers for the Lidl tips too. All appreciated.

Good luck for the interview Strawberry.

Awww re the writing Seacow. That's really sweet. Warm glow day indeed, physically and metaphorically.

I did a long run this morning, was out over a couple of hours exploring. I've found some new routes. Wonderful weather, I wore shorts and a T Shirt.

SiL is cooking dinner so LSD as just the batteries.

Cagliostro · 26/03/2017 15:14

Ah I see Em! I think you're right about things changing, schools can improve or decline a lot in the time you've got before Emlet is old enough. The garden does sound fucking epic!
