Golly, Ocado order stands at £140 so far (delivery tomorrow). That's quite high for me as I do top up for fruit and bread locally but I have a lot of non-food stuff this week (washing powder, nappies, cleaning stuff etc) so I know why. But still.

Also £70 today for DS's private SLT.

Also the budget has not been approved for the project work I was hoping to do Sad. The person who wants to bring me in is going to resubmit so it may still happen but I'd say 50/50 chance. I will be very sorry about the finances if it doesn't bond off (no esrnings and no mat pay!) but my next few months are pretty busy with DS's various reviews and development of his education and healthcare plan for school so the time back would be useful. Hey ho.

mammymammyIRL · 03/03/2017 11:25

seacow sorry to hear that news

allthebestplease · 03/03/2017 12:08

mammy I would suggest you feed him first in front of her so she has to wait and watch, then feed her, its a dominance thing.

mammymammyIRL · 03/03/2017 12:24

best will say that to dh and put that plan in motion

HorseDentist · 03/03/2017 12:29

I have called about the Child benefit and there had been a "data entry error" (i.e they had wrote down the wrong sort code from the form) and the payments had been bouncing. Hopefully I should have payment of about £200 within 7 days so that should take some weight off.

Mammy I second the separating them to feed advice. Feed him first and make her watch, only give her her share once he has finished. The same with giving fusses etc. go to him first and make her wait for the attention.

SnugglySnerd · 03/03/2017 12:40

£16 on baby gift for friend and I've just been to meet their lovely baby!

£5-something on some lavender oil in Holland and Barrett, it was less than half price for quite a big bottle and the house smells lovely now.

I'm going to do a massive Ocado shop this afternoon. I have a code for £20 off. Want to make sure there is plenty for everyone to eat while I'm in hospital and some nice brie, proper coffee and beers treats for me for when I come home.

ememem84 · 03/03/2017 13:26

cag wooo!!

snuggly great plan. Throw some pate and shellfish and some wine in there too!!!

Love the pictures of everyone's doggos. I love dogs. I love catface but I love dogs too. We want a black lab. Or a black spaniel. Or a beagle. One day...

Spends today £8.45 on lunch for me and dh (coronation chicken Portuguese roll with salad and a Mexican spicy chicken and cheese wrap and crisps and drinks). Bad. But it's our last lunch together!! Sad

Also bought a new reed diffuser from the white co. £18. But I had a voucher for the dept store it is in. So only paid £4 cash. Grin

Needastrongone · 03/03/2017 13:45

Mammy No!! Dominance theory has been totally and utterly debunked. Year ago in fact. Even the guy that came up with the theory in the first place has completely changed his mind. Positive reward. Praise for all behaviours that you want.

Put your female on lead while you feed the other dog. I know you say you can't feed separately but this is causing tension, so if you can, it would be good. Every time your female concentrates on you, treat. Praise. It's not dominance is wanting a resource.

There's piles and piles of stuff on Amazon about dominance being wrong and tons also positive behaviour. I've also done a fair bit of training dogs (no expert) so I will link to all the evidence if you need.

Spends (quite a lot)
£20 Boots.
£45 M&S
£40 Sainsbury's.

off to walk my dogs, lots of treats in my pocket, lots of positive reinforcement etc.

Sorry All, I don't mean to intrude. Just a subject I know a fair bit about in general.

Also post in The Doghouse too, tons of vets and behaviourists on there.

IdStillRatherBeKnitting · 03/03/2017 13:53

Heres my beasts of burden. The cocker is the boss. The visla is a bit silly. They're both nearly 6.

Spent £29.99 in argos on 2 stools for me for the shop, I'm going to pad the seats and crochet covers for them (will borrow this money back when I'm skint), and £21 in Lidl, but £6 of that was on 12 super healthy strawberry plants.

SnugglySnerd · 03/03/2017 13:59

Lovely dogs, Knitting!

mammymammyIRL · 03/03/2017 14:05

Very excited that my mother is going to crochet this blanket for my dc, they will love it. She's checking her stash of wool to see if I need to purchase any.

Thanks for the advice, I will check if this behaviour is still happening as I'm not the one to feed them all the time.

My ds is trying my patience with dominance also!!
He whinged from when I picked him up from au pair wed eve for most of an hour & magically as if a switch had been pressed became a charming little boy when dh walked in.

Fluffycloudland77 · 03/03/2017 15:11

One of our relatives believes in dominance theory, if his dog goes through a door first he takes it back and walks ahead of it. I mean who has the fucking time to do that?. This is why I tell Dh I'm marrying an orphaned only child should anything go wrong between us.

£8 yesterday top up shop.
£18 sealer for the tile grout FYI limestone grout is not ideal for kitchen floors and I intend to persecute anyone who gets my grout dirty except the cat
£4 sponge rollers for the skirting boards.
£11 wine, new monthly treat instead of drinking beer. Louis Jadot Pouilley Fuisse 2014. Not sharing it either.

Needastrongone · 03/03/2017 15:31

Grin@ Fluffy. I know, none of it makes any sense. If you stopped and thought about, it's obvious that's the case. Like if the dog gets on the sofa then he's trying to get higher up the pack. Nope, it's just comfy and he likes cuddles. Teach good behaviour and manners sure but your dog isn't secretly plotting world domination. Grin

You make me laugh anyways, enjoy the wine. Don't spill any on the grout...

AWWW Knitting, they are wonderful. DS looked after our friends dogs last week. Vizla's are not named velcro dogs for nothing are they?

Forgot £25 for the cleaner earlier.

Did the overall figures for all our assets earlier and all is good here at present.

Pork stir fry for tea.

I'm doing the 10 portions of fruit and veg a day challenge in March btw.

WreckTangled · 03/03/2017 15:38

Good job you phoned them horse!

Pizza for dinner. Yum. Have eaten loads of crap today at work Blush it was really busy.

Needastrongone · 03/03/2017 16:06

ps - what the hell has happened to Next recently? All garish prints and polyester. It's like they are trying to appeal to a notional middle aged audience without realising this notional middle aged audience actually wants to look stylish and modern.

I've only bought basics for ages now.

Feeling like a name change soon too.

Beeneatingburnttoast · 03/03/2017 16:32

Glad you got it sorted horse

Dentist- free for DC
£19 m&s but had money on a GC from topcashback
£30 H&M - 3 dresses for DC and top for me
£21 Pizza Hut
£1.48 in Sainsbury's
£5 Waterstones

Spendy day but oldest DD had a staff training day so took her to the dentist, shopping and lunch out for a treat. I don't think she'd ever been a book shop until today. I'd always bought books online for her Blush. I loved bookshops as a child and spent most my pocket money there

Need to do lots of frugal helping stuff this weekend- car insurance renewal and pension paperwork. Car insurance renewal annoys me- I find a better deal, ring my old insurance to cancel and then they match it. It annoys me that they don't give loyal customers a good offer in the first place!

MeadowHay · 03/03/2017 16:36

I made it to the lunch and survived! The super prestigious speaker was an hour late because of train problems, so our lunch was essentially a 50 minute thing instead of a 2 hour thing, which left no time for mingling and unfortunately I wasn't on the table with said super prestigious speaker Sad. However I was placed next to another still-prestigious-but-not-as-much legal professional with whom I had a good chat and he was very nice and encouraging of my career plans. I am absolutely exhausted now because I find that when I manage to 'perform' at these things I really am 'performing' - I have to try and channel a part of myself that is like a bit like playing a part in a play. Like who I would be if I wasn't anxious, with low self-esteem, and on the autistic spectrum. Which takes up sooo much energy. So I think I'm going to nap now.

But I did it!! Grin And my family are super proud.

ememem84 · 03/03/2017 17:27

meadow good work!! Well done!!! You should be proud of you too!!!!

Even more lovely dogs!!!!

Busy this afternoon. Barely stopped. But. Out of office on and I'm not setting foot in work now for 2 whole weeks!!!! Yayayayayayay!!!!

Everything is cleared. Inbox cleared. Sent items cleared. Trays cleared down. All stuff handed over. Grin

Two weeks on my own (gulp) but two weeks of quality time with me. And I have a list as long as my arm of things to do. But nothing hugely strenuous (meet friends, list shit on eBay, take stuff to the dump, proper spring clean flat, get flat valued...)

Our bonuses will be announced while I'm off so I've asked that they pop my letter in the post. They've agreed so hopefully it'll be a good surprise.

Last evening with dh. Sad he's making pizza apparently. But didn't take the dough out of the freezer. I'm tempted to see if I can swing a Chinese out of him. Cos I'm going to miss him so so much....

mootime · 03/03/2017 17:28

Well don Meadow!
That's really great.

I've managed a very LSD... £2 for loo Roll!
I've stopped myself going to the new fancy garden centre to buy myself a nice succulent.
I also got a £250 refund from BT that I am going to put into savings!

AdoraBell · 03/03/2017 18:54

life yes he is now, took him in for final check today and the vet is super 😁.

Your dogs look lovely need

Spendy day, £54 in B&Q
£8.60 in a Tesco
£20 on essential oils, I didn't intend to spend that much Blush

SnugglySnerd · 03/03/2017 18:59

Em two weeks to yourself sounds lovely, enjoy it and make sure you get plenty of rest too.

I made a delicious stir fry for tea using up some odd bits - carrots, onion, few Quorn pieces and a courgette. Added 5 spice, honey, soy sauce and sesame oil and had noodles with it. It was quick and tasty buy hasn't really touched the sides so I need something else to fill me up!

WreckTangled · 03/03/2017 19:07

I would love to have the bed to myself for two whole weeks Grin

OP posts:
Girliefriendlikesflowers · 03/03/2017 19:20

Checking in, been a busy day at work. Am seriously considering putting an incident form in as feel the staffing levels are borderline dangerous at the mo Sad dangerous for my sanity if nothing else!!

Love the dog pics, my friend has a springer spaniel puppy who is so cute - I really want to steal her Blush Grin

Our little dog had a nice day out with my brother and then another long walk after work, he is chilling out next to me now. Should I be worried that he seems totally convinced that the cats are plotting to steal his bone?! He spends a lot of time moving it about depending on where the cats are in the room Confused Grin

Think have managed a NSD Halo

CremeEggThief · 03/03/2017 19:34

Lovely dog pics, to brighten up a rainy, cold Friday night. Great news about Teddy too, Adora.

Well done, Meadow. We Frugaleers are proud of you too.Star

£14 takeaway pizza. Stuffed now.

ememem84 · 03/03/2017 19:56

We went out for Chinese. Grin
