Does anyone have any idea how long it takes the Child Benefit people to switch bank accounts. I have had two months without payment now and desperately need the money.

LSD? Low spend day?
Grand total of £1 today on a new packet of tea bags.
Tomorrow is going to be an expensive one however, two new carpets are being fitted £320, carpet fitters £65, nieces birthday present £20ish Confused

IdStillRatherBeKnitting · 02/03/2017 20:43

girlie what a lovely little dog! My dogs are too naughty to go in the car much, I always walk them from home- they never complain! My big dog is too big to easily mooch about with as he gallops like a horse. His furminator is here, must try it as we are plagued with ginger hair everywhere.

In the end spent £2 on milk, and £20 car tax. I am ignoring the mot as I had to put it on a credit card. Had frugal omelettes tonight, own eggs and some sad ham and cheese from the fridge. We had smothies for pudding, fruit from freezer. Dd2 wanted to know how the nutribullet works, so she can have a smoothie for breakfast. She gets up before me!

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 02/03/2017 20:59

Ah thanks all, he is a nice dog and it does make me think about getting one but I still think we are out of the house too much as a rule. This week has been fine but then I have been home a lot more than usual. Also have my high maintenance cats to consider!!

Anyone watching bbc1? How can someone spend £540 a month on clothes? Confused does the woman work?? Seems like she just spends all day shopping and spending her partners money jealous moir? Grin

MeadowHay · 02/03/2017 21:02

Girlie I watched, I was absolutely gobsmacked about the cost and the quantity. Like I suppose if you had tons of money, you might spend a lot more on clothes, but the sheer quantity was absolutely ridiculous, it filled up rooms and rooms of their house Shock.

Watching Supervet on +1 now.

SnugglySnerd · 02/03/2017 21:04

I just watched it Girlie, I think they said she was an estate agent?? I don't think I spend that much on clothes in a year!
Having said that I am really looking forward to getting some new clothes once the babies are here and hopefully I'll be a more normal shape I still have £75 and £150 in vouchers from last birthday and Xmas so I'm looking forward to a bit of a spree, if I ever get the chance to leave the house that is!!

lifelongfrugaleer · 02/03/2017 21:15

Ah he's so cute. Love doggies.

I watched the last bit of swfl. I think the point about brands is valid and blind testing is good. Clever marketing can make you think brands are better. The rest just narks me.

Beeneatingburnttoast · 02/03/2017 21:36

DP is being a Star and reformatting my job application form. only half the boxes allowed you to type in it. Maybe that was the first test!

Anyway, form is being finished tonight and posted tomorrow. I always get fed up towards the end and often give up but this one is going!

Had a lovely day off with my little one who really wasn't acting like she'd been really poorly the night before. Got some work done too so won't have to take a full day of leave.

£25 Tesco

Beeneatingburnttoast · 02/03/2017 21:37

horse have you rung them or emailed? It seems a long time

ememem84 · 02/03/2017 21:38

meadow Guinnea pig pics now please!! I bloody love Guinnea pigs.

allthebestplease · 02/03/2017 22:07

girlie love the dog, we have 2 cocker spaniel's. Also have you considered moving to a new build property as I was in an old drafty Victorian house and spent £180 a month on energy bills, but now I spend £50.

Swfl - in the end it said she spent £700 a month on clothes???? A month. She needs to get down the library or find a hobby.

I spent £5 in charity shop on brand new ecco shoes, and £5 on lunch, and £5 on cool fabric to make cushions....but then sold some silver cake knife and slice for £20 so happy daze!

Also I like skinny jeans but they always fall down or is it just me?

moo have you analysed where the £900 goes as if you're spending £300 on booze a month, plus £100 on cleaning products plus £100 on homeward, plus £100 hosting a dinner party then it easily goes.

Ipsomatic · 02/03/2017 22:19

All I think you're right about analyzing the spending. With us it is mainly meat I think.

babyinarms · 02/03/2017 22:36

Gorgeous dog girlie. I love our dog , Coby, hes like part of the family and definitely get's me out walking !

Tryingtosaveup · 02/03/2017 22:55

Need you can't have Girlie's dog because I want him! I need cheering up!

What's swfl mean? £700 per month on clothes! There is something seriously wrong with her. She must be very unhappy or have low self esteem. Even if I had the money I don't think I could manage to spend that much.
Horse I'd definitely ring them. I suppose it depends on what time in the month you changed banks ...if it was just before it was due to be paid.
Sorry Wreck, I meant to say ......good news about your scan.

AdoraBell · 02/03/2017 23:09

Luffly pooch Girlie 😊

NSD

Trying and need you can have a borrow of Teddy if you like, I'll find a pic.

AdoraBell · 02/03/2017 23:11

Cagliostro · 02/03/2017 23:46

Seriously unfrugal day although DH did most of the spending. Found a few things we've been looking for in charity shops - boxing focus pads for his sports club and some amazing binoculars for birdwatching! :o Also got the last few supplies for the world book day party. I'm pretty much ready, but nervous.

Also nervous (but totally ecstatic) that next week alone I have FIVE new piano pupils!!! Shock [falls over]

lifelongfrugaleer · 03/03/2017 07:11

Swfl = shop well for less
Just being g lazy writing it.

Teddy looks very well now Adora. Is he all healed?

Nsd planned today

lifelongfrugaleer · 03/03/2017 07:12

Good going cag. Our charity is rubbish now. I need to go to a more affluent town nearby as a friend gets all sorts from the that the footballers wife's donate.

WreckTangled · 03/03/2017 07:15

Great news cag!

Love teddy Smile

Horse definitely phone them

Been well done on the application I'm the same and give up as they're so tedious and I'm rubbish at them.

Work today. Need to pay my next account bill. Dd has sharing assembly later then swimming lessons so busy busy.

Fantastic Cag. You're running a private music school Nice job!

SnugglySnerd · 03/03/2017 08:24

Excellent news, Cag!

Talk of charity shops has reminded me I have a few bits to drop off today and I want to buy some lavender oil so I'll nip in Holland and Barrett while I'm out. Otherwise no spending planned today.

Needastrongone · 03/03/2017 08:59

Brill Cag!!! Go youSmile

I need no other dogs with these two to be fair. Action shot as they are always moving...

mootime · 03/03/2017 09:27

I haven't totally analysed my shopping bill. That's a very sensible idea. I have been through my statements and realise that I basically spend a hideous (I'm not going to confess the amount) on coffee and rubbish for the kids from amazon. Which is why I'm stopping BOTH of those!

mammymammyIRL · 03/03/2017 10:17

babyinarms where are you based? General area with € spends, it's interesting to compare. I'm in south west of Ireland

mammymammyIRL · 03/03/2017 10:59

My female Siberian Husky is bullying my male Japanese Akita(names given for size comparison not for stealth boastGrin). She has obviously has warned him off eating his food because she wants both their food for herself. He looks up with sad eyes while waiting in the yard. I have taken to staying with him while he eats so that she doesn't get her paws on it. Any suggestions? They share a yard so not feasible to feed them separately.
