Brilliant news Wrecked on the job and sorting the childcare. Brilliant. Well done you!

Lovely nails Creme, super colour.

I'm so sorry about your friend Life.

Lovely recipe mammy, those bites look delicious.

Good news on the car Snuggly. Another weight off your mind.

Seacow Very wise words about giving a child confidence. It's hard isn't it, with all the factors that can influence that (like your poor DD's experience North).

Hey Cath. Thank you so much for the links, that's really kind of you. I will show them to DD when she gets in. It would be good to know that any money she does spend on parts would be at least be following solid recommendation. I can't help her at all in this regard.

Spends today.
£40 M&S but that included a bottle of whiskey for a present for our anniversary next week.
£5 getting my friend into a stately home for a dog walk as she had forgotten her purse.

SnugglySnerd · 10/02/2017 16:22

Sorry, Wreck I don't know how I missed your post earlier. That's brilliant news, congratulations!

mammymammyIRL · 10/02/2017 16:30

Oh wreck I'm so pleased for you, very similar to my situation except it was 6 months later before the first one didn't work out here!

There are very limited options for 0% here, I've already used 2 of them so I attempted to apply for 3.83% with a bank I previously had an account with and was turned down so I've applied for 12 months 3.9% & both cards can be transferred onto it and I will set up a standing order for 300 monthly and clear it in 7 months. If I pay 200 monthly it'll take 10 months, so I'll aim high and see how I get on.

My bank also has a 0% card but I want to save that option until last as I would ideally like to keep my cc account with them. Hopefully the market will open up more here though.

snuggly that's great news

Beeneatingburnttoast · 10/02/2017 16:42

Great news wreck FlowersCake

Well done snuggly for getting the car sorted. £70 less a month is good too!

£65 dentist but that is paying for next treatment too. May have to have two wisdom teeth out as well Shock

£47 Tesco

World book day books are released soon. Should get a voucher from nurseries/schools so will be a free book. There's a Peppa Pig one which will be popular here

Tryingtosaveup · 10/02/2017 16:59

Wow, Wreck, that's fantastic news. Is it the school one that is term time only. Well done also for sorting the childcare out so quickly😀😀
Snuggly well done on the car. Like you say, one less job to do. Which car did you go for in the end of you don't mind my asking.
Happy birthday Seacow
Spend your day here as I had to buy some pointy fence post thingys to make the raised beds, but the beds look great. Now need to decide whether to get compost or soil to fill them. Thinking of getting bulk bag of 1200 litres for £99. Will have to wait til next month though.

WreckTangled · 10/02/2017 17:13

Yes trying! I'm glad as school as not before or after school clubs and there's only a couple of childminders in the village. I'm sure it'll cost but ds starts school in September so only need to worry until July really.

ChristmasSeacow · 10/02/2017 17:14

Thanks Creme. Nice birthday so far - parents came and took me and DS out for pizza lunch and DH has furnished me with an M&S Colin the Caterpillar cake. Best is to come tonight - lush Thai food and karaoke with my lovely university friends (we've stayed close all these years).

Nice nails Creme. For a green colour they will go with a lot.

Wreck that is brilliant news! You've got the perfect term time job, I hope it works out really well with nice colleagues etc. Are you going to celebrate?!

Good news on getting the car sorted Snuggly. Sounds like a decent deal and sometimes you just need to do things he easiest way. You've enough on your plate!

Cathode he was definitely a knobend Grin

Knitting I have two huge sacks of shredded paper here from my office clearance, I wish I could get it to you!

Lifelong that is a big shop!

It's trying to snow in London but just the freezing cold, nothing to play with to show for it.

CathodeRayTube · 10/02/2017 17:19

Need Let me know if you want to know anything about computer building. That's a thing we know about well. Buying an operating system is another interesting thing that I can be useful about when the moment comes. We buy win7 off ebay usually, but linux is free if she's that way inclined.

Wreck I'm really looking forward to learning about the school system from you in your new job. So much of it is a mystery to me.

ememem84 · 10/02/2017 17:30

wreck congratulations!! Awesome news!

creme great nails

Spends today £17 for lunch for me and the boss at the Mexican place. Fish taco and sweet potato fries. Yum.

Cagliostro · 10/02/2017 17:34

@northender I just caught up on some posts, I hope the doctors went ok. 3 week period sounds utterly grim. x

Needastrongone · 10/02/2017 17:37

Thank you Cath. I very much appreciate that. x

Fluffycloudland77 · 10/02/2017 17:39

Happy Birthday Sea 🎂

Snugg You played a blinder there.

Wreck Congratulations. You'll have Easter hols off?

mammy Those Oaty bites look great.

NSD
Collected £23 Amazon vouchers for the steamer chair cushion, only £97 left now 😳

WreckTangled · 10/02/2017 17:43

Yes fluffy all holidays off! We will be in NZ for Easter.

Thanks everyone. To add to my brilliant day ds isn't crying at swimming lessons! I will rewards him with an extortionate treat from the vending machine so LSD today.

Our car is making an awful noise again might have to take it to quick fit tomorrow they're always good with that sort of thing.

IdStillRatherBeKnitting · 10/02/2017 17:48

wreck that is fantastic news! The holy grail, a term time job you actually want to do. So pleased for you.

snuggly great news, did you go gor a 5 or 7 seater in the end? Less money on car = a whole lot more nappies!

seacow Happy Birthday! Have fun tonight.

em oh I remember the tiredness, just exhausting. And crying over everything, being shouty for no reason... my hormones generally settled between 12 & 16 weeks! And I didn't have to work full time.

The big car (chrysler) FAILED its mot. Quelle suprise. Needs shit loads fixed. As its literally in pieces, they have lent us a transporter van for the weekend -its awful! Lots of families round here with many kids, so the garage has a 9 seater courtesy car! At least we can put the bill through the shop and get the vat back.

£14 on unexpected chippy tea.

PeoniesforMissAnnersley · 10/02/2017 17:57

Congratulations wreck! Wine
£8 in M&S on dinner supplies for me - i work until 1130pm tonight and they do provide food but it's usually awful. Got some nice fresh salad bits and salmon and hummus.
Knackered but only a week until half term. I will probably work most of it, because I have exam classes but at least it's work at home with a cup of tea Smile and not charging about trying to control hordes of kids!
I just found out that I passed my NQT induction period so I am now a fully qualified teacher Grin I have been teaching for 5 years unqualified so they reduced the induction to one term and backdated it to end of December.

Tryingtosaveup · 10/02/2017 17:58

Love your nails Creme. Lovely colour but I think the name khaki sounds odd.
North, hope you are ok. A one week period is bad enough but 3 weeks Ahhgg.
Sorry about the car I'dStill. It's one thing after another.
Enjoy your evening Seacow.
Just started snowing again here. I am curled up with iPad by wood burning stove with a cup of tea. This is my definition of bliss. And I am not busy all weekend.

CathodeRayTube · 10/02/2017 18:11

That's great new peonies. Well done. That was a lot of work!

Need If your dd is quite keen on fun computer projects it might also be worth giving her a shot of this magazine:
www.raspberrypi.org/magpi/
It's about home projects that can be built with the raspberry pi and it also gives details of robot and computer-building meetings that you can go to near to your home town. If there's one near you then it could be really fun to go to. The raspberry pi is a computer that was designed and built as a teaching tool for kids and most projects cost less than £40 to put together. It's really great fun. It's the modern equivalent of the 1980s BBC micro if you remember that.

CathodeRayTube · 10/02/2017 18:15

At the risk of wittering too much, here is a video of a teenager who has converted her stairs to a piano using a raspberry pi. Cag and Need might both be interested.

Very very frugal home ed tool which can lead to big bucks in the working years.
Cagliostro · 10/02/2017 18:38

Omg stair piano 😍😍😍

Yay MissA! Star congratulations :o

OP posts:
MeadowHay · 10/02/2017 18:41

Congrats Wreck!!

I didn't know it was your birthday Seacow! Happy birthday! Thai sounds lovely. I am going to make DH and I vegetable balti for dinner from a cookbook. Hopefully it will turn out ok.

I have been feeling quite grim today, I'm always exhausted anyway but been feeling weak/dizzy/short of breath as well, wondering whether it might be anaemia as I was anaemic for awhile as a teenager. DH still at work tomorrow and Sunday all day and I don't have any plans, feeling a bit lonely and sorry for myself. Ideally I would go shopping in the city centre as I need some socks and leggings and things but my anxiety will probably prevent me. And with the weather being so cold it's not like I can go and sit in the park or anything just to get out.

SnugglySnerd · 10/02/2017 18:45

Congratulations, Peonies! It gets better when you don't have to keep doing all the NQT paperwork!

Happy birthday, Seacow!

Can't remember who asked but we got a 7 seater in the end as the seats folded down will leave plenty of space for camping trips!

It's been a pretty good day for us lot on the whole hasn't it?

The stair piano is awesome btw!

Cagliostro · 10/02/2017 18:45

Oops I missed that too, happy birthday Seacow! Star

Managed a nice dinner today, pasta with shedloads of veg and cream cheese and chorizo. I need more bung-in-whatever's-in-the-fridge meals like that - but the Caglets don't really eat rice, they don't eat soup or stews and aren't even keen on spuds. Fussy gits. Thoughts?

OP posts:
Cagliostro · 10/02/2017 18:46

Oh yay! New car! Well done Snuggly :)

OP posts:
Fluffycloudland77 · 10/02/2017 18:53

Feed them chips and nuggets for 6 months, they'll be begging for stew.

WreckTangled · 10/02/2017 18:57

Well done MissA!!

Happy birthday seacow!

cag dd gets a cheese sandwich when we have something she doesn't like which is quite often...I give up!
