Spends: £7 travel, £3.50 Sainsburys café and £5.40 Sainsburys (lemons, olives, Vicks, paracetamol and 2 creme eggs). I've picked up DS's lurgy from earlier in the week and I'm feeling meh.

Happy Friday all.

Cagliostro · 20/01/2017 15:47

Seacow thank you for telling me - I had liked them on FB I think but didn't realise there was more to it!

And big, big thank you for the Japanese dictionary which arrived today! DD pounced on it immediately :o and the snacks are Le Yum, DD's face was a picture though when she tried the crackers, she doesn't do spicy :o :o :o really sweet of you to send it all Thanks

I finally phoned HP today and because of the delay (which TBF is partly my fault because I am the world's biggest procrastinator and should've phoned much earlier) they can see I haven't printed for a while so they're giving me some free months on Instant Ink when I receive the cartridges and can hopefully get the new account set up.

OTOH I am grumpy because I tried calling DH to ask for twiglets (they had gone out to get a few bits) but he didn't pick up and now he's home and I have no twiglets. :(

em mindfulness is amazing, it totally changed my life.

Spends today

£12 lunch with the sister
£13 for 6 new long-sleeved work tops in Primark

I am feeling super sorry for myself because I just got my implant removed and they had real difficulty getting it out and it took twenty minutes of poking around in my arm. Sad I've had to steal my husbands single malt to make a hot toddy to recover!

Cagliostro · 20/01/2017 17:21

Oh uggh max that sounds painful re: the implant! I have heard stories of it getting lost and stuff. Hmm Glad it's out, hope you can have a nice chilled evening.

Agree re: mindfulness, I had always thought of that kind of thing as a bit hippy dippy for my liking Blush - as a veteran of CBT (I have had MH intervention on and off since age 14) it seemed totally against everything I'd learned. But in fact it is what has finally made a massive difference. I no longer feel I have to fight my anxiety, I can LET IT HAPPEN. And it's ok! And I genuinely end up LESS anxious because of it - it doesn't spiral out of control anymore and I don't get angry at myself for being anxious, I just accept it as part of myself.

NSD for me, DH took the Caglets to town (using bus passes - love that we no longer have to consider if it's worth the bus fare!). Stuff for movie night and Oilatum for DS. They forgot light bulbs which was supposedly the main reason for going to town. Oh well we will be in tomorrow anyway as having lunch out for DH's birthday. He has requested Wetherspoons and I'll probably nip into Boots in case of any bargain Botanics sets.

DH did risotto for dinner - asparagus, frozen cheapie mixed veg and the rest of the Christmas sprouts (slightly honeyed) topped with a frozen salmon fillet and a runny fried egg. Le Fucking Yum

Thanks guys!! I'll look into the app and the free course.

I'm in the pub now. Decided to stop with dh on the way home. I'm waiting for him always am with a glass of wine and a Guinness.

Spoke to director today who is colleagues friend. Gently gently softly softly approach. Director said she noticed a lot. And was I ok. I ranted for a bit explained I was concerned about colleague I am honest. I may sound like I'm being unsensotive about it but honestly I am concerned for her and asked for help. Directors going to have a word on Monday

Have been here (pub) for half hour on my own. It's quite nice. I've caught up on phone calls have watched a bit of old trumpys inauguration and have caught up on texts. Nice nice.

Happy Friday tout les mondes!

ememem84 · 20/01/2017 17:41

cag that dinner sounds ace! Honey sprouts eh? Interesting 🚶🏽‍♀️💨

SnugglySnerd · 20/01/2017 17:47

Sort of NSD, for me anyway. I asked DH to pick up some healthy snacks for me as I'm so hungry. He seems to have interpreted this as posh treats from M&S!

CathodeRayTube · 20/01/2017 17:50

Cag How did you learn mindfulness? I bought a book but it it was too much book and too little information. I think I could have done with a leaflet tbh. I've read bits of the Dalai lama's website and found it interesting.

I tried to watch Trump's inauguration but I just can't stand the sight of him. I like people like that well enough, but only when they are the bad guy in a Columbo film and I know they're going to get their comeuppance soon. Felt so sad watching Obama leave office. He seemed so perfect.

I think I did genuinely actually manage an NSD today. We are out of a whole lot of food, but so was tesco so didn't order a delivery.

confusedandemployed · 20/01/2017 17:53

Afternoon.

Em well done on the spinning and the ridiculous amount of walking! I managed a sub-30min 5k today which I'm pleased with. By no means a personal best but I have a huge union which is really causing injury to one foot at the mo, so all in all I did well. Sounds like you've earnt an hour in the pub though!

Christmas I like Mighty Girl on FB, I didn't realise there was more to it either.

Max hope you're feeling better soon. Sounds horrible - although I am pretty squeamish!

Well done Cag on the NSD.

Today's spends:
£5 - DD' s first big girl haircut. She was so excited!
£5.75 Co-OP. Butter and beer!
£4.97 Mcdonalds with my friend for kids' tea.
Nearly £1500 on a week's holiday in Lanzarote for DD and me! DH hates travelling so he's staying home to look after elderly DDog. Going with my friend and her 2 DC at half term, so in 4 weeks. Super excited. Junior suite, all inclusive. Never done anything so extravagant. It'll be a good few years before I can afford to do it again as well....

ememem84 · 20/01/2017 17:53

cath I like books for most things but I think mindfulness is something I need to be taught iyswim.

Still waiting for dh. Sigh. I swear I'm going to drink the guinnes in a bit.

ememem84 · 20/01/2017 17:54

confued just to clarify I'm challenging myself to walk 1000km this year. Haven't done that already....that would be insane!

Still about 300andsomething days to go.

Fluffycloudland77 · 20/01/2017 18:07

Snuggly I'm imagining a car full if doughnuts now and the babies surrounded on all sides.

I do like how trumps wife dresses

creme Oh dear, maybe he will pass it on to his father too.

£42 Aldi
80p morrisons
£2.50 sains but will get £1 back from green jinn.

CremeEggThief · 20/01/2017 18:11

Not this weekend, Fluffy, as he only sees him one weekend a month now...

Enjoy the treats, Snuggly.

Feeling sick, watching the inauguration of Trump. Ugh!Sad

Fluffycloudland77 · 20/01/2017 18:13

Sad Once a month

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 20/01/2017 18:20

I have found mindfulness useful as well for anxiety, £55 for 5 sessions sounds like a bargain Em its more like £200 round here. I bought a book and a cd and sort of self taught myself, would like to do a course if can find one thats not £200!!

I got a home to find a letter from Wessex water telling me they are giving me £73 back Halo am feeling very pleased about this, all that nagging to dd about saving water has been worth it Grin our monthly DD is going down about a tenner a month as well.

Also got a letter from dds trust fund and that seems to have done well this year so all in all very positive.

LSD 63p on sweetie Friday.

Am avoiding the news as can't cope with seeing Trump become president, just thinking about it makes me want to boak.

SnugglySnerd · 20/01/2017 18:59

A carload of doughnuts would be amazing!

I'm avoiding the news too, can't bear to watch him.

confusedandemployed · 20/01/2017 19:19

Me too Snuggly. He turns my stomach.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 20/01/2017 19:50

Have made a delicious smoothie which is rather exciting so had to share with you lot!

I put 1 banana, a handful of frozen berries, a few blueberries, some apple juice and a few spoonfuls of greek yogurt in and blitzed - voila delicious and healthy smoothie Grin which dd loves as well.

WreckTangled · 20/01/2017 19:54

Evening. Have read today but can't remember much. Nsd here.

He is a photo of my dc leaving swimming lessons this evening to take your minds off of trump; a dinosaur and a bunny

Frugaleers, keeping their frugal resolutions in the new year. Keep on, erm, resoluting!?
ItalianWiking84 · 20/01/2017 19:54

Refusing to watch anything with trump so is watching handball instead
We are Playing again Qatar

ememem84 · 20/01/2017 20:32

wreck cuuute!!!!

We went for Mexican food. To a new restaurant. Glass of wine (large) beer (sol with lime) huge plate of nachos, chicken burrito with salad and chips, pork enchilada with salad and chips £32.50. Spicy as hell but super tasty.

And £7,50 on a taxi home because it's 0 degrees and we couldn't be arsed to walk for half an hour.

AdoraBell · 20/01/2017 20:42

Frugal fail. DH is jetting off for work so wanted to have lunch out. I printed off a 2for1 Pizza Express voucher and off we trotted. I hadn't realised that today is Friday Hmm so lunch was £33 Blush

Other than that I spent about £3.60 Iin Boots, tubigrip.

Love the dinasour/bunny combo Wreck

Am still aghast at Trump even though I always thought he get elected.

Anyone else need a 🍷?

CremeEggThief · 20/01/2017 20:55

A virtual one, please Adora. Although it looks as if I might be breaking dry January on the 4th of February, a whole week earlier than normal (my birthday is 11th, so usually break it then), as some of the staff at school are going out for drinks that afternoon... I think if I started drinking tonight to drown my sorrows at Trump, I'd never stop!

confusedandemployed · 20/01/2017 21:19

Ah Wreck that's cute!

I'm knee deep in a large bottle of beer and studiously avoiding any news.
