Are they going to investigate further by the way, re CFS

Fluffycloudland77 · 06/12/2016 16:28

£5 Tesco. Soup and a frozen cheesecake.

lifelongfrugaleer · 06/12/2016 17:42

Nsd.
Crt that sounds like money well spent.
Collie the toddler years can be relentless can't they. I was reading a thread about threenagers the other day. God takes me back.

Feeling frazzled today. Early nights all round and tomorrow will be better

Mummyreindeerlegz · 06/12/2016 17:46

I went to king Alfred's as it was then, randomly the group work experience rang big bells!

Tryingtosaveup · 06/12/2016 17:53

LSD here. £7 lunch with friends in village.
Tiling going well in the bathroom. Tiler been here 2 days already. I didn't know how much prep they have to do before they start. It's looking much better already. Excited at nearly having new bathroom.

Tryingtosaveup · 06/12/2016 17:57

Sorry, posted too soon. Cath, that does sound well worth it. I know what you mean about GPs. I think they are just tired overworked triage people now.
I went to my surgery to make an appointment last Friday. Ok, it wasn't/ isn't urgent but ...the 19th December was the next appointment. I suppose if I had been really ill or a child I would have been seen earlier but that is nearly 3 weeks.
I would definitely go private if I could afford it. It is well worth it.

CathodeRayTube · 06/12/2016 18:08

The GP said that there's no specialists anywhere near here that do CFS. I thought a bit and emailed back today and asked if we could be referred to the sleep clinic near here since it was ds's sleep apnoea that got us into this state. I wondered if they might know what to do to help us back on our feet.

The letter to the school was rejected by the welfare officer at school for not having a diagnosis in it, which I'm finding quite dispiriting, but I know I just have to keep plodding until I get to the right person or place or something. I could honestly crush a grape right now though.

I wrote and asked for a more detailed letter as well as referral to dietician and possibly sleep clinic for both of us.

Dealing with STUFF is just so complicated sometimes isn't it?

cag same issue for me with groupwork at uni. Absolute pain in the ass. You do the work you provide input you then get an average grade. Gah. My 2:1 average was pulled down. But I argued it back up because one girl in my group was absolutely completely effing useless. If dsd's put the work in and can document it it'll get noted.

tell her (for the next time) to be the organiser. Set the meetings set the tasks make sure she's the one hounding others to do the work. And make her tutor aware of it. Keep all emails.

Whatever she wants to do after graduation this is a valuable lesson. Document everything. Get it in writing. Cover your ass.

Further spends £1.27(!) milk at corner shop.

Cagliostro · 06/12/2016 18:35

Thanks Em I will tell her that. She's hoping to be a social worker BTW! I love the fact you argued your grade up. Clearly the law training was working!

Which reminds me I got a funny mug for DSS's GF who is doing her law masters and just started her first job in a legal firm. It says "please do not confuse your google search with my law degree" :o she will love it.

CRT not having a specialist is no excuse for them not to pursue it. At least a formal diagnosis by ruling out the other stuff with tests (CFS is after all a diagnosis of exclusion) it does NOT mean you can get fobbed off. Has DS had his tonsils out BTW, I was looking up about tonsils and snoring (errrr for me Blush) and it seems a tonsil/adenoidectomy (?!) helps but I assume that has already been done?

ememem84 · 06/12/2016 18:46

that was before the law training I have a degree in social sciences with a focus on cultural anthropology. Which I then converted to law after graduation.

Social work? Wow. There is no way I could do that. I'm my opinion it takes a very special type of person to do that. Same as nursing. I couldn't do it. My friends who do sw or nursing are The best people I know. Caring kind and just lovely. I lose my patience with people very quickly. Could not do it. I'm not strong enough mentally.

The keep everything documented is one I still live by. If I've had a conversation with someone about work related stuff and it's possible it could get misconstrued I send them an email to document. Some people hate it. But it's saved my ass loads.

Bit of a moral dilemma here. Second hush skirt has arrived. So options are a) send back b) keep free skirt and give to sister as Christmas present. If I send back they may try to refund me. So do I a) let them or b) tell them their mistake if they do. Aaaah.

Since I've been home I've done a load of washing and second is in the machine (just socks which can go in the dryer). Forgot to wash outfit for tomorrow so have had to quick wash and put on towel heater to dry skirt. Aaaah.

Cagliostro · 06/12/2016 19:09

Ah I see Em! I had assumed your original degree was law. Yes am in awe of DSD that she wants to do SW, I hope it works out for her.

ItalianWiking84 · 06/12/2016 19:18

Don't worry mammy, I'm doing so much less than I'm use too, spending loads of time on the couch relaxing and cooening over baby dd Grin

ememem84 · 06/12/2016 19:43

It was a long hard slog for me. 3 years of uni then work and study during evenings and part time. Finally qualified this year. So 10 years of study.....and a bit of study debt....

Oooof

Have packaged up hush parcel. It's going back. Morally I can't keep it. If they refund me that's up to them. I've done the right things.

SnugglySnerd · 06/12/2016 19:44
