It's really just a confidence thing plus the pool is cold he spends a lot of time shivering. I don't really want him missing out on something that is supposed to be really fun if I can get him to enjoy it now. He actually didn't mind his lesson today as there was only three of them in it.

SnugglySnerd · 07/12/2016 15:06

A sloth is an awesome gift!

So much for my frugal shopping this week. By the time I'd bought fruit, loads of cat litter, various things we'd run out of like shower gel, toothpaste & loo roll and a couple of birthday/xmas presents it was over £100. I might have bought the Christmas Radio Times too. It was £4.50!!

WreckTangled · 07/12/2016 15:16

Ooo snuggly I was looking for that the other day. We always get it.

SnugglySnerd · 07/12/2016 15:25

We always get it too and highlight all the things we want to watch/record.
It has a token in for a free Raymond Briggs book so that'll make up for how expensive it is!

CollieMonster · 07/12/2016 15:41

Yay! Radio times! I love getting this for Christmas. £4.50 though Xmas Shock

Anyhoo, did Christmas shopping for DH and spent £44 in total. Amazon gave me £2 off just for downloading and using the app.

I guess I better get cracking and buy some Christmas paper before things are found Xmas Wink

Also it looks like we sold our house again. Let's hope our dreams exchange and complete calmly within 6 months. Xmas Smile been feeling really low lately so this was the news we needed.

SnugglySnerd · 07/12/2016 15:52

Good news, Collie, hope it all goes well for you this time.
DD has just eaten a slice of lemon! Strange child!!

Toocleverbyhalf2 · 07/12/2016 16:01

I probobly shouldn't, but my local Chinese does a deal on a Wednesday of two main courses for £15 including rice and chips. I'll really enjoy that!

Fluffycloudland77 · 07/12/2016 16:13

If you take out a radio times subscription trial in October you get the Christmas rt. Sometimes the trials only 99p for three months.

Put it on your calendar for next year, I bet you'd get cashback on it too.

£15 nail supplies.
£10 petrol.

Collie Best of luck.

CremeEggThief · 07/12/2016 17:21

Fingers crossed, Collie. Really hope it works out for you this time.

£9.70 travel to work.

WreckTangled · 07/12/2016 17:22

Good luck collie!

£35 orthodontist
£13 macdonalds Blush

ememem84 · 07/12/2016 17:27

Yes! collie

cag 30 is the new 21. And it's not too bad. 2 years in and I'm a changed woman.

too doooooo it. I could murder a Chinese right now. And chips.

Currently doing something very unlike me. And very brave. I am in the pub on my own. Waiting for my friend. She was meant to be here at 515. But is running late. I went in. Ordered a drink and am sitting on my own.

I've never done this before. Always a bit too scared. Busy busy day and I'm exhausted. Had a moment at 330. Had to have a wicked strong coffee to wake me up a bit. probably won't sleep tonight now

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 07/12/2016 17:28

Spent £45 in Lidls which wasn't too bad given I got loads and a quite a few Christmas bits as well, hopefully no more food shopping till the school hols....

Thats great news Collie Smile

Tryingtosaveup · 07/12/2016 17:57

Happy birthday Cag, the sloth is a wonderful pressie.
Good luck Collie, I hope it works out this time
Wreck, my little DGS is just 4 and DD decided to take him out of his group swimming lesson because half the time he was just sitting there shivering and he wasn't enjoying it and wasn't learning to swim. Total waste of money and time.
So, she arranged 1-1 and it has made such a difference. He is no longer sitting on the side shivering most of the time. He can do lots in the water now. He isn't quite swimming but almost and, importantly, he loves it.
Why not see if you can get a trial 1-1 lesson for him see how it goes.
CRT you seem to be having a really bad time with the medical profession. Hope you get sorted out soon. Second what Mammy and Em say keep notes and send them an email saying this is what we discussed and agreed.
£72 on return rail fare for tomorrow but can claim it back. My poor cc at the moment it is being hammered.

ChristmasSeacow · 07/12/2016 19:06

Happy birthday Cag and great present. 30 sounds very young to be!

Great news about the house Collie I hope it works out this time.

I bought the Christmas radio times yesterday too. I love it because it has the radio listings too - DH thinks it is hilarious that I also mark the things I want to listen to on R4. Bit disappointed to realise that because of it being in a Sunday it doesn't cover Christmas and new year - might need to buy the next one too.

Too-up spends are out of control. I am feeling a bit queasy and frequently knackered so not always cooking what I had planned. Consequently our food waste has gone up and DH is eating ready meals a bit more, which we don't usually do. Feel a bit rubbish about it but just have to hope this phase passes quickly!

I invited a good friend of DH's (and his girlfriend?) For Christmas as they are in house move chaos some time between now and Christmas and I don't think they have anywhere nice to go - both sets of parents are abroad. I kinda hope they say no though because I would be nice not to have to make lots of effort for guests, especially as they will stay over, but it is the right thing to do. Feel better for having offered!

Cagliostro · 07/12/2016 19:14

Thanks again guys! 😍🌟

It has been a brilliant day. I can't believe how different my life is now from when I turned 20, there's a whole load more challenges but in many ways my life is so much more awesome now!

And besides, now I have a sloth. I am pleased with the sloth love on here.

lifelongfrugaleer · 07/12/2016 19:56

Ah cool present cag.
Fingers crossed collie

Went to sainsburys and spent £22, B&q 49 on a tree, some lights, stand and tinsel. We are putting a tree up outside but it was cheaper to buy a tree and stand rather than a potted tree. Wil get the saw out and put it up tomorrow in the garden. Dh hates outdoor lights so we are going to surprise him.

CathodeRayTube · 07/12/2016 21:09

Thanks Trying, yes it's been a bit rubbish. My dm had the same at the same age, so I'm reliving childhood worries and watching my ds walk in my own childhood shoes, but without a sibling to distract him. It's all a bit pants tbh.

Creme I totally burnt myself out the last few days and am now in hot water bottle territory. Ooops.

How do we get to Christmas non-knackered?

Well done on the house collie. All fingers crossed here.

Mummyreindeerlegz · 07/12/2016 21:23

£20 in sainsbury on bits and bobs, always annoyed how those shops add up. I bought flour, sugar and bits for Christmas baking, some tissues, not that much more really.

£3.30 posting an eBay parcel. I'll have another one to go tomorrow. It looks like my brand new Witt tags next skirt will sell for 99p. Bit annoying but at least it'll be gone.

ememem84 · 08/12/2016 07:51

probably not nsd here today. Need to buy dh some undies for Christmas.

A letter arrived from Hsbc yesterday. They're annoyed because I can't fill a form In properly. They want a crs form for each of the joint account holders. But. Have sent one form addressed to us both. To be signed jointly.

Gah.

CollieMonster · 08/12/2016 10:14

Thanks everyone Xmas Smile

Right so today we need Christmas paper, cellotape, cheapest detergent for laundry & bin bags.

CremeEggThief · 08/12/2016 10:59

I was the same last night, Cath, minus the hot water bottle. I lay on the sofa from about 6.30 p.m. until nearly 1 a.m., too tired to move and even watch TV. I didn't even wash up, which is almost unheard of for me.

CathodeRayTube · 08/12/2016 12:01

Gosh Creme I'm sorry to hear that, but actually really relieved that it's not just me. I know that I'm on top form in August and that this is the darkest time of year, but it helps so much to know that others also cosy up at this time of the year.

OP posts:
ememem84 · 08/12/2016 13:03

£36 on undies for dh (still not sure if I've got the right ones - why are they so confusing....!) and £37 in WHSmith on selection boxes choc oranges Christmas cards and choc pennies.

northender · 08/12/2016 14:02

Happy birthday for yesterday Cag, 30 sounds so young to me too!
Collie you must be due some luck, fingers crossed for these buyers.
Seacow definitely the right thing to do to invite the friends but I know what you mean about half wanting them to decline.
Hope all of you feeling tired & weary find some energy soon Smile
Hardly dare update my finance spreadsheet at the moment, it's just spend, spend, spend.
I'm cracking on with my sewing & will hopefully finish the bunting today, table runner and cushion covers to go!
We're off to Devon this weekend so I may try to choose and pay for the Christmas tree today & collect when we're back. I have a feeling it'll be a busy weekend for tree buying & don't want to be left with the rubbish.

Cagliostro · 08/12/2016 15:27

I keep saying to people how very OLD I am now 😱😂 nah I know I'm a youngster really I'm the baby out of all the home ed mums. DH is nearly 49 though so I guess we even each other out :o

Off to London now. Luckily it's very cheap to get from mums to elephant and castle. Excited about the play (and Nando's beforehand) but even more so to see DSD. Can thank her properly for my AMAZING birthday pressie, she found me a piano music book from one of our favourite anime films. ❤️🎶
