Would you mind my asking if anyone else has a fitbit or something similar? I've been wondering about them and realised that others had mentioned numbers of steps taken in a day, but that I hadn't cottoned on at the time.

Now also with a playpen for baby dd yai. Found one second hand for 25£, really pleased with that

Needastrongone · 22/10/2016 11:09

I have a Garmin Genie, which is more running specific. I've heard good things about the Fitbit. 10,000.00 is the goal a day as you will know. I've heard they can be slightly sensitive to movement as a caveat.

Get me! 11.5 miles by 10am. 8.4 starting at 7.15 this morning, and then the Parkrun. Having Avocado on toast in celebration! It's a very long time since I ran that far, but good company and a natter gets your through.

Hopefully at NSD, although it's just me and DS and that would be a cheap takeaway night.

Easy day planned.

Bridget Jones was funny last night!

ItalianWiking84 · 22/10/2016 11:11

Dd and me have been making Christmas gifts for her grandparents and great grandparents, been loads of fun and she loved it Grin

Need well done Flowers

CremeEggThief · 22/10/2016 11:31

Good going, Need.Star I'm only out of bed since 11!

NeversellahouseCollie · 22/10/2016 12:50

genie I have a Jawbone UP3. My daily steps goal is 8000. Most people's are 10,000 but I have mobility issues and I'm tiny so 8000 suits me fine.
It also tracks heart rate and sleep which is brilliant! And the app is very clear and easy to use. And it produces some sexy nerdy graphs.

I highly recommend it!

NSD. Have been on the beach all morning enjoying being relatively stress free. Albeit only temporarily stress free but I'm enjoying the serenity regardless.

WreckTangled · 22/10/2016 12:51

Well done need!

Fru flu is making me feel crap. I've also got a really sore, red tear duct which is odd.

Shesgotelectricboobs · 22/10/2016 13:20

genie I have a jawbone up2. It tracks my steps and sleep. I had wanted a Fitbit but at the time they were too clunky.

My sis has a Fitbit Alta I think. She loves it.

Pics of mine and last nights data attached.

Well done need

I aim for 10000 steps a day and 8 hours sleep. I've set my band to vibrate if I've been sat down for 20 minutes so it prompts me to get up. It also vibrates as a bedtime reminder at 945.

AGenie · 22/10/2016 13:48

The jawbone sounds like just the thing I'm looking for.

I've realised that when I get carried away doing exciting things, my heart rate goes up and then I get physical symptoms of stress afterward. I'm thinking that if I keep an eye on my pulse rate then I can try to be more sensible and slow down at the time, and then the health troubles might reduce.

I've been doing it just by taking my pulse myself, but ironically, just at the time when I need to notice the problem, I'm usually too busy to see it.

Needastrongone · 22/10/2016 14:14

Genie Did you ever consider that stress and adrenaline reactions are similar in symptom? I know that you will know this as a scientist, my words are being clumsy at the very best. What I mean is, when I run a good run like this morning and especially with a race, I'm buzzing afterwards. Heart rate high, adrenaline pumping, feel great, and I'm sure you've heard of 'runners trots'Grin. A few hours later, I'm knackered!! but not in a bad way but that I've been challenged way iyswim? But those symptoms might equally be associated with a negative situation. Are your exciting things producing a good reaction perhaps? Smile I never did conquer pre races nerves...!

Thank you guys, it's a long road back.

I've raked leaves for 2 hours and I'm off to M&S now.

mammymammyIRL · 22/10/2016 14:36

Swimming was €14, diff receptionist & obviously ds is older too.
Electric I had your toilet problems today but with ds, earlier this week he told me about cat making poos in sand & covering it up with more sad. Today I caught him with his pants down in sand at playground doing the exact same thing luckily I spotted him & he was able to tell me where he had hidden the poo BlushBlushSadAngry

Had lovely lunch at home avocado tomato ham & cheese toastie with beetroot, spinach, grated carrot & artichoke hearts salad. Getting back on the weight loss train happily

AGenie · 22/10/2016 15:33

Need yes that's what I've been thinking. It's generally exhilaration that gets me and the GP always calls it anxiety, which really irritates me. Interesting that runners get it too.

Needastrongone · 22/10/2016 15:41

Well I guess the doctor knows best, and certainly better than me! Just interesting that it's connected to something you love doing. A situation you found extremely difficult or challenging, sure, but this is your exciting stuff .Smile

Never ceases to amaze me how good food fills you up so much mammy, your toastie sounds lovely. I'm not sure why folk want to eat crap tbh.

Making a stir fry for tea and not giving in to a takeout.

mammymammyIRL · 22/10/2016 15:45

We got pizza on oct 2nd but I don't remember the last takeaway before that Smile
Hair €25

CremeEggThief · 22/10/2016 16:33

We've had meals out since, but the last takeaway we had was on the 22nd August, the day DS came back from his holiday with his grandma. My friend had to cancel our pub lunch yesterday (although we still met up for a coffee in the morning instead), so DS and I are going there for Sunday lunch instead tomorrow. Can't wait, as the menu looks good.

It would have been an NSD, but the window cleaner just turned up, so £4.20.

Shesgotelectricboobs · 22/10/2016 16:41

mammy GrinShockConfused haha! Clever ds!!!

Catface came sauntering up the corridor before. I was making tuna melts. Lucky I'd saved some tuna really...

She sat quite happily with a spoonful of tuna for about 10 minutes.

Been to see dm this afternoon and had a cup of tea and a scone. Haven't had a scone for ages. Bloody love them.

Bargain of the day. 6 crumpets in Waitrose for £0.69p. Yummmmmmmmm

Must must get back to the gym. I didn't feel strong enough to deal with pony today. Must get back into it.

Dh was brace today too. He came into the yard and watched my lesson. And then stood about 3ft away from pony while I was untacking her. He said if he was able to get any closer he'd help. But he just couldn't. chased by a racehorse about 10 years ago

Lasagne for dinner.

Shesgotelectricboobs · 22/10/2016 16:59

Have also just been through my sock/tights drawer. I have:
6 pairs of black tights (5 normal opaque and 1 fleece lined)
1 pair red opaque
1 black stripe
4 pairs of "knitted" look tights (red grey purple and dark green)

I apparently don't need to buy tights.

I also have a gazillion pairs of socks. So have ditched all but 10 pairs. And kept all my trainer socks. But have but these in my gym bag. I always forget socks. Not any more.

Sad times here too. I finished my favourite YSL plum mascara this morning. Will add to my list for Christmas.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 22/10/2016 17:57

Hi all Smile

mammy sorry but that made me Grin bloody kids!!

Need you are super fit - well done!! I have a long way to go in getting any real fitness but the intent is there so it will happen. Healthy food is lovely but constantly buying fresh food and good quality food is expensive, we eat fairly healthily but some 'junk' sneaks in as its cheap and convenient.

Have been working all day long, dd has gone with her Nan to a caravan for the wend and by the sounds of it is having a lovely time!

Am thinking while I am child free I might pop out to Sainsburys and see if there is anything left from the toy sale Hmm

Have decided my heating is broken as the down stairs radiators now won't come on at all Hmm so need to ring housing people on Monday, my little oil heater is doing a sterling job in keeping me toastie though.

Wildernesstips · 22/10/2016 18:01

Boobs that is a job I need to do - sort out my underwear drawer!

£56 Lidl weekly shop
£3.40 lunch for DS2
£30 Euros for DS2 to take to Germany next week

Been for a lovely Autumnal walk, which has really cleared my chest/cough.
