£60 balance of ds party. Kid's loved it so did grown ups. Thankfully the weather held.

Town this afternoon. Just for a child free mooch.

Collieballs · 01/10/2016 14:02

Spent £3 in Lidl Grin it was hectic but we went in at midday so that's understandable. Loved it!!

We have taken a boot full of crap to the recycling centre. Gotta keep on keeping on with the packing & sorting. How do we pack the stuff in the shed? Confused there'll be spiders on eevvvvvvverrrrything. Grim!

DH said that Sainsbury's take our money for the weekly shop on a Tuesday (delivery is on the Friday before).. So we have to watch out for months with 5 Tuesdays in.

Also bought catnip. I love making cats high. Grin

Collieballs · 01/10/2016 14:04

The next month with 5 Tuesdays is in November Shock good job we noticed that! Oh crap!

Tryingtosaveup · 01/10/2016 14:57

Goodness Collie, you are actually moving house in a few weeks time. It is a tight time frame but I am sure it will be well worth it in the end. And using it to get rid of crap is a good idea.
I am visiting DD. they asked me to go out and get take away coffees this am. £7.10 for 3 coffees! I am in shock. Why don't my kids have any sense?
I am at home next week so I WILL CHANGE BANK. Please make me.
Hope all those with fruflu feel better soon.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 01/10/2016 15:41

Collie can't believe how quickly the house selling/buying process is going!! It seemed to take agggggggggggggges for us Shock yes for decluttering, I got rid of so much crap and feel much better for it! Still got some stuff to go now plus an old hoover that is currently sat in the shed.

Bit fed up as didn't time myself very well this morning, needed to get into town earlier and ended up rushing about feeling a bit stressed which was not what I intended for my Saturday!

So spends;
The Works £10.50, included a Christmas gift for my God Mother £5, a gift for friends little boy £4 (under budget) and £1.50 on a new small diary for me for 2017.

£6.50 on lunch in Subway for me and dd, had a voucher so saved a few quid there.

Trainers for dd came in at £28 - over budget but the cheaper ones weren't comfortable so hopefully an extra £8 well spent.

£12.99 on a cycling t.shirt for my brother (£3 over budget)

Not too bad all things considered.....

I am feeling very tired for some reason so think will have a quiet afternoon, might bake some cakes in a bit. Has anyone tried any of the mumsnet youtube recipes? I keep seeing them in the side panel, the 4 min lemon cake looked yummy! There was also a 3 ingredient chocolate brownie one the other day Cake

CremeEggThief · 01/10/2016 16:39

NSD. I'm a bit worried I'm coming down with Fru-Flu, as I'm feeling under the weather.

ItalianWiking84 · 01/10/2016 16:46

Girlie: I've made the Nutella 3 recipe cake and it was really yummi...

ItalianWiking84 · 01/10/2016 16:47

Nsd here, friend visited with her dd so not left the house

allthebestplease · 01/10/2016 16:49

We had a great frugal result, we had a £50 John Lewis voucher so decided to treat ourselves to new pots and pans got to the till and lady said that will be £200 and we said noooo, it should be a lot less, they checked and pans had been labelled up wrongly so they honoured the price. Whoop whoop.
Had to work today for school open day, am very tired now.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 01/10/2016 16:59

Just spent £15 on a canvas photo print for my living room, it was in the 50% off so not too bad and I love the photo! Lots of offers on One click print at the moment, they make nice Christmas gifts...

Collieballs · 01/10/2016 17:11

girlie I know! It's terrifying!! Blush

Spent £2 in B&M on 2 of those gigantic fabric / plastic zip laundry bags. They're full of teddies, spare bedding & wardrobe clothes. Basically packed up 2 rooms today! Feeling pretty gooood. Must dismantle a rubbish Argos wardrobe tomorrow. I'd sell it but it just isn't safe as it's too shoddy. I'll need a replacement though. I'd love a solid wood one but that ain't gonna happen.

Will put all clothes, our bedding and anything else in normal bin bags nearer the time.

We've had beef stew in the slow cooker since 11am. Can't wait for it for tea with dumplings! Hope DS loves it

Shesgotelectricboobs · 01/10/2016 17:11

Things that have totally pissed me off this afternoon.

Dh calling me after my riding lesson when I was on my way elsewhere for a lift. He knew I had plans. Yet called.

Dh changing his plans. He was going out straight from work today (he had to go in to do his time sheet). Then that changed (hence the lift home). Then he wanted a lift out at 4. I said no because I had plans. He's annoyed.

I went out as planned came back and he's gone. No idea how or when he'll be back. Dinner for one it is and a bit of telly. No problem.

He's not washed up from breakfast (I cooked). He made himself lunch and has made a mess. There are three pairs of his socks on the living room floor.

The washing machine hasn't been emptied. And I've just noticed his birthday cards on the floor behind the couch (his birthday was in August).

Am annoyed so am back on washing strike (his clean clothes are also in a pile on the bedroom floor still). Only washing my clothes, bedding and towels now.

AGenie · 01/10/2016 17:52

That's weird that he thinks you'll drop everything to drive him places. Can he not drive himself?

Shesgotelectricboobs · 01/10/2016 18:24

genie it's probably because I will drop everything to do it.

He can drive. But we only have one car.

It's just annoyed me today that I had plans and it seemingly comes across that my plans are less important than his.

He would usually drop everything for me.

The biggest bug bear and the thing we argue about the most apart from his mother is his clean washing. Clean washing gets left on the floor. And never gets picked up. It irritates me that I waste my time doing his washing and it gets thrown on the floor.

AGenie · 01/10/2016 18:39

Ah! The one car detail is the critical one there. :-) Sorry to hear about the frustrations. We have frustrations too at the moment and they are a lot to do with the fact that sometimes life is just complicated, and that sometimes we are both (or all) ratty.

Shesgotelectricboobs · 01/10/2016 18:49

We rarely need two cars but today was one of those days.

I dunno if I'm just irritable or what. Feel tired. Am curled up on the couch now with a bowl of sweet potato chips and a glass of wine. Watching episodes of Conan the adventurer (the cartoon). Dsis remembered it. It's awesome.

AdoraBell · 01/10/2016 18:56

Birthday money must be spent on treat for birthday girl

NSD, used Boots points for sanpro.

The boots and trainers I ordered don't fit so they are going back and I have ordered others, they might go back too Hmm also slippers and undies went back to M&S.

Sore throat today, and general acheyness. Should be visiting MIL tomorrow.

Noitsnotteatimeyet · 01/10/2016 19:18

NSD yesterday but very very spendy day today Confused dd's 14 tomorrow and today I took her to have a makeup lesson at a Bobbi Brown store - the makeup artist was lovely and made dd look beautiful. The lesson was free but of course I spent a small fortune on the stuff she used so that dd can recreate it at home. However dd's not having a party so together with a hack with one of friends tomorrow is her birthday treat and she's had quite a few medical problems this year (including developing acne Sad) so I thought she could do with a confidence boost. Dh came up to the counter as I was paying and nearly had a heart attack though Grin

Noitsnotteatimeyet · 01/10/2016 19:21

Oh and I also bought myself some lovely subtly sparkly black trainers from geox Blush

AGenie · 01/10/2016 19:43

I bought some of that transdermal magnesium that's meant to be a cure for everything. I tried a tiny bit of it today and it just gave me epic indigestion. Bit of a waste of a day really. Oh well.

electric I was thinking perhaps your dh was ratty. You sound quite reasonable on this one. I hope it gets better there.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 01/10/2016 19:49

Collie I had the exact same thing with a wardrobe, the cheap one from Argos fell to bits shortly after the move but I found a solid pine one at a local rescue shop for £40. Maybe have a look out for a second hand one or find out if there are any local reuse shops at the local tip, the one we have is brilliant and great for bargains!!

Weather this afternoon has been dismal Sad but am glad that the house still feels warm, this is promising for winter I feel! Have made some lemon cupcakes, well actually dd made them - will try them with a cuppa in a bit.

Boobs (I still want to call you Em!!) that does sound annoying.

Shesgotelectricboobs · 01/10/2016 19:50

It will genie. We have Ramts about his tidiness periodically. I've tidied up and this action alone will make him think. The house is super spruced up.

Something else that's thrown me

Mil has sent me flowers for my birthday.

Part of me wants me to throw them away.

I am not ready to forgive. I haven't had an apology. If I throw them away I hurt dh. Help me frugaleers. What do I do.

CremeEggThief · 01/10/2016 19:53

Do you like the flowers? If so, keep them. You don't have to forgive. She might have sent them with the intention of puzzling you, anyway.

AGenie · 01/10/2016 19:57

electric you could shot abuse at them pretending it's her, before dh gets home. Get it out of your system and all that.

Collieballs · 01/10/2016 20:07

Boobs sometimes the best cure is space and time. He does sound like he's being a stroppy teenager though. The lil biatch. Hope things sort themselves out soon xx

MIL may be trying to confuse you on purpose. Another lil biatch. Grin

girlie yes! Must keep an eye out for a solid wood wardrobe. How did you get it home?

noits happy birthday to your DD for tomorrow & those trainers sound snazzy!

I feel completely 100% again. Foot & tummy! Yay!!
