Big blinks are cat speak for "I love you"! I blink back at my cat except when I'm cleaning up cat sick

Ememem84 · 17/09/2016 17:07

Yes!

Collieballs · 17/09/2016 18:24

Poor Millie :( hope she's alright em

We have had such a gorgeous day here. It's SO quiet. Beaches are empty in glorious sunshine. The air is so fresh. And breeeeeathe!

Just had to spend £6 on bubble wrap to wrap up some very delicate stuff during the house move.

I saw John Lewis's Christmas section yesterday. Droooooooool! Had to click off and resist.

Collieballs · 17/09/2016 18:24

Big cat blinks are a very good sign! Yay!!

Tryingtosaveup · 17/09/2016 18:48

Poop Millie, Em but she is definitely feeling more at home.
Hope everyone is recovering from awful weeks. I am super busy at the moment. Have only been home for two nights in the last fortnight. Can't wait til 25th when I finish all this travelling around working. But I keep telling myself it's going to pay for my bathrooms.
Another NSD here, can't remember more whether it's 7th or 8th this month.

Tryingtosaveup · 17/09/2016 19:00

Yay, it's the 9th NSD

CremeEggThief · 17/09/2016 19:46

Aw, poor pets Sad and poor stressed frugaleers too. I hope everyone is feeling a bit better, now it's the weekend?

So, is the house move definitely going ahead then, Collie?Smile Is it the house with the 0.8 mile walk to the nursery?

Spendy day out with DS, but worth it to get him out of the house and some fresh air into him. We went for lunch and to the cinema and had ice cream and a walk afterwards. It was so warm and sunny too. I hope you and your DD had a good day out too, Lifelong .

lifelongfrugaleer · 17/09/2016 19:49

Mary Poppins was fab and expensive. £10 train tickets, £22 lunch, £1.50 H&m, £5 theatre sweets, £27 merchandise.
Lovely day though.
£10 skate park for ds. He loved it dh not so

lifelongfrugaleer · 17/09/2016 19:51

Wonder if the vet is a sporner girlie? Pleased hamster is OK and that was decent of the vets.
Poorly kitty cats,

CremeEggThief · 17/09/2016 19:52

Oh glad you enjoyed it, Lifelong . I'd love to see "Mary Poppins", but I don't think DS would be quite as keen. I have 2 friends who might like to see it, so I suppose I could ask them...

Ememem84 · 17/09/2016 20:00

Went to the shop to get cheese. On the way stopped into parents to say hi. Dm asked why I was there I said I was on way to the shop for cheese. She put a block of cheddar in my bag. Frugal win!

And an invite to dinner tomorrow! Double win!

Collieballs · 17/09/2016 20:05

creme I think so! Will find out on Monday Grin terrifying!

CremeEggThief · 17/09/2016 20:11

ItalianWiking84 · 17/09/2016 20:47

Fingers crossed Collie Flowers

Fluffycloudland77 · 17/09/2016 21:45

collie Eek! Good luck.

em You've got one nervous cat there, blinking at you is really good. Zylkene works really well at calming them, it works on my Bengal and he's a little shit.

NSD.

SnugglySnerd · 17/09/2016 21:54

Good luck, Collie.
Cats like cheese, Em, maybe that'll entice her!

Ememem84 · 17/09/2016 22:33

snuggly do they??? I didn't know that??!!

She's been blinking at us for a while. It's almost as though she knows she can trust us but doesn't trust herself to trust us if you know what I mean.

I stroked her for a bit earlier and she then turned on me and started shaking. Almost as though she doesn't believe we'll be ok with her. I suppose with her background it's understandable. But saaaaaaadddd!!

Dh gave me wine. My new motto is "maybe tomorrow millie will come around..." repeat ad infinitum

Fluffycloudland77 · 17/09/2016 22:36

It can take a few weeks, they're very sensitive animals.

AGenie · 18/09/2016 02:27

Lilac I like your nutella substitute. I must remember that.

Sorry to hear about the sad events going on round you Lilac and Girlie. I'll give ds and dh double hugs.

collie Good idea to live simply and buy good stuff less often. I'm sadly realising that our tumble dryer is destroying our clothes, but I'm not really that excited about the idea of having to hang them all up to dry. I need to think about it though.

Sorry to hear about the kitchen trouble Adora. We had our kitchen done two years ago and I know what you mean about the faff of doing it.

Italian I love that you have great grandparents still with you.

Collie I just did a huge double take at your Christmas mention, as it was a heatwave hear this week. Getting so confused about seasons.

We went to a brilliant robotics event today and ds really enjoyed it. I was reading bedtime stories to a robot tonight, as a result.

SnugglySnerd · 18/09/2016 07:28

Yes they love cheese but I don't think it's very good for them. Ours especially likes Parmesan, he obviously has expensive taste! He also loves crisps but they have to be Ready Salted Walkers, he has been known to swipe them from my hand as I eat them!
Today we might go swimming and we might go to the garden centre and buy some bulbs to plant. Or both!

WreckTangled · 18/09/2016 07:43

Our cat likes crisps too Blush

Today is my friends surprise baby shower I've organised with the help of her mum and cousin, can't wait she's going to be so surprised! Her first was very premature so she didn't get to have one.

Should be nsd.
