Em, I'm sure Millie will settle, she seems to be coming on.
Spendy day today. Ds is going to see so pro scooter riders with dh. Dd and I are getting the train to the city for, shopping, lunch and theatre

lilacclery · 17/09/2016 07:52

Sounds like a fab day out lifelong Grin

Dh has said he'll have ds while I take dd to her swimming lesson, ds wasn't keen last night so hopefully this morning he'll be different! Means I don't have to swim myself & shower 3 of us if he stays with dh.
Having dds friend for afternoon
Party tonight I'm not keen but it's dss's gf 21st so have to show face Angry

Morning all, long week for us, so will relax whilst do a lot of washing 😂

Collieballs · 17/09/2016 08:49

girlie oh that sounds so sad :( I'm grateful it's the weekend too but hearing stuff like that puts it all in perspective.

So today should be a NSD and hopefully tomorrow too. After we move house we're going to start using cash in envelopes. We're making the envelopes out of pretty paper (that we already have) so it'll look cheerful and we don't have to buy ready made envelopes. We want to reimburse our savings pot for the moving costs as we need to build a buffer. And learn not to fritter! We are such bad fritterers.

I've been reading a lot about "living simply" and not needing "stuff". Buy the best you can afford and you shouldn't need to replace it as often etc. It's a good attitude that my grandparents had and they were wealthy. There are some treats that you shouldnt cut out (if it brings you joy). My treats are nail polish, books, real ale and socks. Not even sorry! Grin

AdoraBell · 17/09/2016 08:52

Spend day yesterday, again.
£10 in Boots
£80 on shoes, I've bought spare school shoes as last year was scrabbling around mid school year after shoes wore out.
Also, DH spent £25 in Tesco. I asked him to get 2 microwave meals.

Having new kitchen fitted and it's turned into a saga Hmm

lilacclery · 17/09/2016 09:17

Collie that's the attitude I'm leaning towards with clothes a bit now, upgrading slightly from penneys(primark) to iclothing & h&m when sales are on.
Kids clothes same trying to buy food brands on sales interspersed with primark

Wreck thanks will look in to that

Fluffycloudland77 · 17/09/2016 09:29

What's happened adora? The floor needed replacing didn't it?

Ememem84 · 17/09/2016 09:37

I'm trying hard not to buy any more clothes. Or if I do eBay.

Its my birthday soon Dh has said he'll get me vouchers from a few shops so I can get new clothes if I want. Yay!

AdoraBell · 17/09/2016 09:55

Yes fluffy but because they didn't look at the floor until they'd fitted the new units, despite knowing it was a potential issue, they are now fully booked. Fitter has gone AWOL so they've had find other people. DH is p'd off as garage is filled with kitchen units so car is out and he's previous about it being shiny dogs are unsettled due to lots of people in & out, and I'm spending a bloody fortune on ready microwave meals and chocolate as no space to prep. And I thought I could avoid the stress by having it done while we were away Hmm it's likely to be another 3 weeks before it's complete.

WreckTangled · 17/09/2016 10:00

£59 lidl
£20 fuel
£3 for loads of toy cars off a selling site

Still need a few bits from tesco. Will post meal plan in a bit.

SnugglySnerd · 17/09/2016 10:03

I've already spent £25 this morning! Had to get a prescription so picked up a couple of things I needed in Boots while I was there. They had some nice children's clothes reduced so I bought some for DD in next size up.
That's really kind, Italian, thank you. I'm not sure I'd fit a size 8 though! Not long left to wait for you now, exciting!
Happy Saturday everyone!

lifelongfrugaleer · 17/09/2016 10:09

£57 in sainsburys. Do I know what I'm cooking next week. No! Bloody fresh stuff. Need to schedule time for aldi and lidl.
Think I'm going to rejig things while I'm on tp and get a cleaner.

Cagliostro · 17/09/2016 11:04

Hi everyone, sorry about the bad weeks. Thanks

Thanks Trying we were really disappointed, but in a way very glad it was purely the weather that stopped the class rather than lack of interest! The kids were genuinely gutted as they were looking forward to it. But the rain was horrendous to the point it would've been dangerous both for the parents driving and risk of injury etc. Just hope we still have some good days left without heavy rain.

Agree about buying better things if possible so less to buy. I'm glad I bought the bras now (£60 for 2 though!) but I need to buy jeans soon or winter will be a struggle as I have only one threadbare pair.

DSD moves away for uni today. Excited but selfishly very sad too, I'll miss her like crazy!

Sierra259 · 17/09/2016 11:11

Oh dear Adora Sad. I bloody hate having work done, I just can't relax while there's people in and out of the house. Just keep imagining how it will look when it's finished. Speaking of which, lovely bathroom em!

I need to start looking at some warmer clothes for DC1. She is at the age of refusing to wear certain clothes "just because" Hmm and it's so annoying to buy stuff she then won't wear! I find Sainsbury's clothes quite reasonable and nice for day to day stuff and get M&S, Debenhams, Next stuff in sales. Need to check out H&M. Vertbaudet have a sale on currently too.

Collieballs · 17/09/2016 12:11

I really recommend Vertbaudet! We bought DS 7 x t shirts from there for £9 in the sale and they are soft, perfect fit and wash really well!

adora that sounds totally stressful :(

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 17/09/2016 12:49

Hi all, I used to love Verbaudet when dd was younger although found the sizing small.

So spendy morning, had to take dds hamster to the vets (makes a change from the cats!) She has a lump on the side of her face and we have left her with the vet to see if he can aspirate it. He said it might be a tumor though so have tried to prepare dd for the worst. Not sure how much it will all cost as not paid yet, normal consultation I think is £35 ish and the vet said he would only charge £10 for aspirating the lump as we are good clients Hmm I probably paid for his summer holiday this year!!

Popped to Lidls and spent £22 on various bits that i like from there, including a few more plants.

Morrison delivery later and dd has riding in a min although my mum has paid for that though.

SnugglySnerd · 17/09/2016 12:57

I got a Hotel Chocolat catalogue through the post today. Trying to resist...

ItalianWiking84 · 17/09/2016 13:20

I'll check if any of it is in other sizes snuggly...
Been making Nutella cake with dd and else it's just a lazy day for us. Tomorrow is open farm day here in Denmark so we will go to a farm with calvs and cows in the morning and in the afternoon my parents, grand parents and great parents are coming to celebrate dhs birthday, so he'll make some strawberry cakes. I just need to pick up my great grandparents on the way home from the farm, they don't like driving anymore...

ItalianWiking84 · 17/09/2016 13:22

Cag: good luck to your dsd, totally get that your both excited and a bit sad
Girlie: hope the hamster gets well soon...

Ememem84 · 17/09/2016 14:51

£25 riding lesson.

And we need to get cheese. Dh is making pizza later but no cheese.

Have just been to check on Millie and she's been sick on the towel she was curled up on. Have frightened the hell out of her moving the chair she was under to pick it up popped it in the wash and put another towel down. Poor little thing moved so fast. And is now shaking Sad she's eaten her biscuits too quickly I think. Probably she's been snarfing them down thinking she's not going to get any more. SadSad

I'm glad we moved her to a wooden floor.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 17/09/2016 15:21

Hamster is back on one piece! It was an abcess and the vet was able to lance it, he said he got loads of muck out Shock amazing the poor thing wasn't more bothered by it! She has some antibiotic drops to take, so that will be fun trying to get her to swallow Hmm the best thing is the vets didn't charge me he said my insurance had over paid so they will take that as payment Grin

That has made my day, well that and the fact that the hamster is still alive! The vet said she did stop breathing for a few moments when they gave her some gas but they were able to bring her back Shock who knew hamsters had more than one life!! This one certainly has, she has been caught by girliecat once as well Blush

I am feeling a bit washed out now which is a pain as have lots I want to do, sitting with a Brew for now but want to put the plants in I picked up at Lidls and bake some cupcakes this afternoon. Have some friends coming over tonight which I'm looking forward to Smile

WreckTangled · 17/09/2016 15:27

Oh em poor Millie Sad

Another £19 in tesco but got two tubs of chocolates for £7 which have been hidden for Christmas.

SnugglySnerd · 17/09/2016 16:23

Thank you, Italian, that's really kind.
Em we just returned home to a pile of cat sick too, on the carpet unfortunately.
Just found a lovely park we've not been to before with a fantastic play area. Wish I'd found it at the start of the summer!

Ememem84 · 17/09/2016 16:23

wreck I love this time of year. I saw the big tins of sweeties in the coop the other day and the tubs of twiglets! Love Christmas food!!

We're having roasted butternut squash, spinach and courgette pizza for tea. And a glass of rosé.

Just hoovered the living room and found masses of cat hair. Oops.

Must get a brush for her but don't even want to attempt it yet. We'll wait until she's happy being stroked. She's blinked at me loads today. Proper big blinks which I think means she's happy....
